Eureka Seven's last episode to be re-aired.

After AS decided to chop out the beginning, middle, and end of said episode last Saturday.

I'm kinda glad I didn't get around to watching that episode yet. Now I'll have a non-screwed-with episode to enjoy.

My bitterness doesn't let me believe that they'll re-air it. It's probably going to be a prank; Perfect Hair Forever will be involved.

EDIT: After perusing the [as] boards, I'm now willing to give them some credit. I'm not convinced that this was a "log error" as explained by the apology bumps, but I'm now not expecting Gerald to fly across the screen to "Tip Taps Tip" for thirty minutes.

However, the dealie you link to suggests that it'll be totally uncut, where as the staff posts on the [as] boards suggest that it'll still be cut, just not as much/to better effect.

I'd put links to relevant posts, but, you know, Wii browser. Feel free to hook us up with some links, anybody. They aren't hard to find.

It deserves it, SAC 2nd GIG is the hawtness.

And besides, I can get the original version off my favorite anime site. And GITS 2nd GIG is much better anyways.

Lord of Joshelplex 05-05-2007 10:25 PM

Your lucky, I am dying to see 2nd GIG, GITSAC left me needing to know what ahppens next.

2nd GiG was definitely badass. The last episode of Eureka Seven even more so.

So, for those of us who don't get Adult Swim, care to explain what happened?

Also, LoJ, if you're that desperate, there are certain...avenues...that would allow you to see it early.

EDITUS: Now I'm going to rewatch that episode. Again. It's that awesome. I really have to rewatch the series at some point.

All GITS are pointless. It's the same reused and overused cliches and deus ex machina as every other action/detective show/anime ever, but covered up with piles of big words and cyborg bodies. Just because you reference classical literature and made up technology three times an episode, it doesn't change the fact that the 'important' character just happened to be in the right place at the right time for no real reason. Calling a hunch a 'whisper in the ghost' doesn't change the fact that it's just a hunch. Also, Kusanagi is too perfect. She never makes mistakes. Like a Mary Sue without the boyfriend.

Granted, second gig is a bit better, because it spends less time on pretentious detective work which consists mostly of the aforementioned barely concealed cliches, and more upon the action sequences--which are pretty badass. That, unfortunately, doesn't change the fact that the only things it really has going for it are big words to make it seem 'intelligent' and pretty animation.

Though the tachychoma are pretty amusing.

Eureka Seven has a much more original premise, more human characters, more natural dialogue, and--even with the limits of questions stuff at the end--a more believable story line, if only because it doesn't rest completely upon one character being completely and forever perfect.

Seriously, that was the only reason I watched Stand Alone Complex. I'm sorry, but I've just never been able to get into the total implausibility of "The Adventures of Motoko Kusanagi: World's Greatest Pantsless Detective (And Her Amazing Friends!)".

Mike McC 05-07-2007 11:33 PM

GITS:SAC is all about the adventures of a group of people who are exactly the same, and are cyborgs. Really, you can't find any real difference in any of thier personalities. The tachychoma really were the only source of personality in that show.

GitS is awesome, for two reasons.

The Tachikoma, and Yoko Kanno composing the music.

Well, and the mindless action scenes.

I don't go for GitS for story. I go for cyberpunkish setting and kick-ass action sequences.
