So I got my Wii-fund...
Now, to track one down!
While doing so, what games should I be looking to trick it out with? I'm interested in: Twilight Princess (should I get the 'Cube version or Wii version?) Super Paper Mario Trauma Center: Second Opinion and various Virtual Console games (TMNT and Punch-Out! for sure.) Any other suggestions and/or clarifications on games I've already mentioned? Many thanks in advance. The Wandering God |
You can Ebay one for a reasonable price. I just sold mine with my four games for $400 CDN, which isn't too bad, about 70-75% retail.
My advice is to hit a single store every day, until you get there on their shipping date. I did that for a week and tracked it down good. Of those three games you're interested in I only played one, Trauma Center: The gameplay is very fun, though most things don't make any sense (hand-sized shards of glass protruding from their heart?), and the story is about as lame as it can get. Basically, you get it for the surgury, and press A as much as possible to get TO the surgury. The grading system adds some replayability factor for us perfectionists. |
You should also make sure you have a Wi-Fi connection around that is either unsecured or you know the SSID for. Once Nintendo starts sending out the old SNES/NES games, that's when the Wii shall shoot up in popularity. All other games aren't really great IMO. I'd recommend getting Tales Of Symphonia (Gamecube Game) so you can play it on your Wii, as it won't be remade for the Wii or ANY OTHER SYSTEM.

Call of Duty 3 is pretty good.
Super Monkey Ball- STAY AWAY FROM IT! Twilight Princess is definetly worth it. Oh and be sure to get your Wii Browser! |

WiiPlay I got for the extra controller that comes with it. The game itself is mostly lame. A few games are fun with multiplayer like the shooting gallery and the tank game, but I would recommend consuming large quantities of alcohol to enhance the experience.
Prince of Persia: Rival Swords is the same thing as the Two Thrones, but it is still very fun to play with the Wii controls. And don't forget to use Craigslist when shopping around for a Wii. You'll probably have to pay ~$300, but it's local and pretty secure that way. |

If you don't get Twilight Princess, I will personally come to your house and slap the $h17 out of you. Either on the Wii or the cube, you need TP.

Twilight Princess is awesome, if you liked Ocarina of Time you will not be disappointed. The game starts off kinda slow but keep going and you'll be enjoying yourself.
WarioWare is not so good. I got it for my birthday from a friend and it was fun for a day or two. I haven't touched it since and play Wii Sports much more often than this game that is compiled of only mini-games. I've got Spider-man 3 on reserve right now for the Wii (comes out this Friday where I live) so I will definitely be picking that up. Web-slinging with the Wii-mote > all. You may also want to save your money for when Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Metroid Prime 3 comes out. Also there's Mario Galaxy if that's your cup of tea too. |
I've read reviews which say that if you're going to get Twilight Princess, get it for the Wii. Not for any graphical reason or such, but for the fact that it's easier to make gestures with the Wiimote than to try pushing the buttons to get Link to do some of his moves.
Super Paper Mario is good fun, as well. I highly recommend it. All the fun of a classic Mario, with psuedo-RPG elements thrown in. Funny dialogue, too. |
