I've been thinking for a long time now that, for the 'Adventure' mode, they should include a 'Mini-boss' and a 'End Boss' type setup where there's Character specific bosses. Where Adventure mode in Melee was the same characters you fight every time no matter who you choose, they could change that in Brawl depending on who you choose very easily.

Say you pick Link. You're playing Adventure mode and doing your normal thing, but you then get to the 'mini-boss' level and instead of it being just another normal character from the game, it ends up being something like say, Dark Link. A totally unique character not found in the game. Then for the end of the game, the 'final boss', you would have the anti for that character. Since I think every character in the game so far except Mr Game and Watch, Ice Climbers, Mew Two and Ness have had their 'opposites' in the game already with them. You could just make them the final boss. Link and Zelda fight Ganon. Ganon then fights Link at the end of his game. Mario Fights Bowser.

Now that I think of it though, there's other characters, like Samus and Captain Falcon. But they aren't hard to add in. Especially Samus...add Mother Brain or Ridley.

I like the idea of having Ganondorf from TP as separate character, but letting him have a morph move (like Zelda/Sheik) which lets him go Ganon. Probably not feasible, since that would likely be a broken character, but it would still be nice.

Theres also Pit. With the characters like samus, you don't exactly have to give them a character specific enemy, but you could put Ridley in as a "classic" fight between her and him as the final boss, melee style.

The Ganon transform should be Ganondorf's Final Smash.

Samus' should be the hyper beam from Metroid 3 - complete with the rainbow suit effect.

If Ridley is in - and I hope it is - its final smash should be that goddamn tailwhip maneuver. (Unless they use meta-ridley, in which case, a Laser Breath / Bombing Run).

Yoshi's unofficially confirmed.

Wow... this thread is moving. I have to check in more often. Anyways... the Yoshi's ending song screams that he's in. And besides Yoshi is the creator, name is running on me..., favorite. How can he not be in

Oh... and Yoshi trying to sing=wow...

Kenryoku_Maxis 06-05-2007 03:55 PM

Um...Yoshi's more famous and popular than than Fox or a few other characters already named for returning to the game. And has been in 3 major games recently. He's going to be coming back...

Cute song though.

Looking at the images of the Delfino town on that site...I really wonder how they're going to change the way characters interact with the environment in this game. It looks like there's going to be a lot more movement and stuff with the environment, but I also hope they might go a little into the way of DOA3 and kind of like what they had on the Pokemon Stadium in the original Smash Bros where you could use the area around you as strategy to hurt your opponents. Melee kind of hd that, but most of the time no one played those stages because a) they weren't good for fox/sheik or b) those places that could be used to hurt your opponent very often backfired and hurt YOU while you were trying to lure them into a trap.

Needs more fun stuff like Random Voltorbs popping out of walls or Spikes on walls or something.

BTW, if you want some massive speculation on what might be coming from 3rd parties in Smash Bros, look on the list of what music composers are contributing to the game. Some of these guys are for games that contributed for DS games that aren't even affiliated with any Nintendo products or anything even remotely related to announced 3rd party characters.

Pia Carrot? Romancing Saga? God Hand? Devil May Cry? Wild Arms? Grandia? NIGHTS?! CHRONO TRIGGER?! Where are they all coming from? Although some of them are suppose to be just doing a few tracks but..some are probably doing tracks for characters their company is introducing.

It saddens me however not to see any Konami people, incuding Miki or any Castlevania writers...

I thought Yoshi was another one of Miyamoto's babies. I believe you are confusing him/her/it with Kirby, who was actually created by Sakurai.

Another update, guess which characters were added to the roster?

Exactly.

Akihiko Honda doesn't count? Obviously working on the MGS stuff, though...

Yeah, there's him I guess. But Konami is a company so well known for its Music in games. And its like they're the big no-show on this list. Its not like we expect Capcom or Namco or something like EA to have 3-5 guys on the list because they tend to hire out to famous people and their series aren't remembered as much as being series people really remember the music for. But Konami...

Good news: this game is compatible with every single type of controller available for the Wii. Now I don't feel as bad for having sold my GameCube a year ago. Though, I believe some advantages will arise from having one player using the Wiimote and another the GC controller.
