Nikose could do absolutely nothing to stop the giant, painful looking blast from Mauve heading right for him.
"This will hurt." he said decidedly, then grit his teeth, trying not to squeeze too much. |
The effects of using the heavy artillery in an enclosed space are well documented. The explosion expanded back down the tunnels, overflowing, much like a very fat man trying to put on a shirt that was several sizes too small. The cave quaked, the ceiling collapsing, machinery sparking and breaking, steam and fire venting out of ruptured pipelines.
The next while was very full of incidents. The dust finally settled and one of the piles of rocks shifted cautiously. A coughing Arhra emerged stiffly, pleased to find this time moving hadn't set off further rock falls. She felt quite tenderised as it was. Dusting herself off and lamenting on the damage to her new outfit, she viewed the desolation Mauve's spell had wrought. Rubble was everywhere, choking the tunnels in great piles. Some of the machinery had torn itself loose from the walls, parts still functioning fitfully. The lighting flickered, flame and steam hissed woefully out of broken conduits, and magma slowly dribbling out of cracks in others. There were holes in the floor where damaged machinery had subsided, gas explosions had torn other areas apart, more of the complex innards of the artificial volcano visible beyond. They were incredibly lucky that there were no major lava reservoirs nearby. "That scene stealing hack." Arhra muttered. Of the Manotaur, His final fate was clear for all to see. The turducken, in a final, kamikaze attack had rammed into the Manotaur's shins with all the speed it's Power Wheel Jeep could muster. The turducken staggering Him for the critical moment, the Hadoken got a direct hit. It had been a blast of vast magnitude, the conversion of a great mass of mana into pure destructive force. The very structural integrity of the Temple had been severely compromised by the explosion. What else could be expected from such an attack? It had knocked Him out cold. |
Mauve brushed a few chunks of ceiling and rock dust from her shoulder.
"Who rocks?" she asked, cupping a hand around her ear to listen. "Why yes, that's right! I do. Yay me, Go me!" The mage did a small impromptu victory dance. Then the world started to spin violently and wave in and out of focus, and she had to stop. Mauve blinked. Things got hazy and Ahrha's voice sounded hollow and distant. The mage shook her head and muttered something about using too much MP and how unfair it was. She stumbled forwards, caught her foot on a rock (or maybe a body, who knew?), and hit the ground. The last thing she remembered thinking was Does this mean I finally get a coma dream sequence of my very own?? and then everything went black. (OOC: Okay, so the hadoken used all her MP, so she'll be out of it until she builds her reserves back up again. Don't kill her while she's out cold. :p ) |
I stopped when seeing Mauve smoke the manotaur, then shrugged. "Steaks anyone?" I said, just as Mauve collapsed. "Shit..." I said, while Gina, having taken her sweet time getting down the stairs, started to go to work healing up those who were hurt. "Bout damn time you showed." I said to her, while getting to Mauve's side, and looked her over. "Sorry....It's just....I kinda got a bit nervius, especally with the lack of water around....." "Just heal up everyone." I said, then started casting Life-2 on Mauve to bring her around.

Phil crawled from under the stone blocks that had narrowly missed crushing her by a fluke cage of pipes that had formed above her. As she pulled her feet from beneath the pile, her ankle tapped a pipe, collapsing the entire structure. Phil stood up and dusted herself off. "Go hobbit luck, I guess." Surveying the vastly changed surroundings, Phil's eyes stopped on a gruesome scene. The Turducken roadster had been transformed by the Hadoken into a twisted mess. It lay overturned several yards from the Manotaur. The wheels had melted and burned into jagged claws, it's axles were bent into spider legs. The jaunty pink paint-job was now black, with chunks blown off the chasis. The windshield was snapped in half and hung off the side. As for the turducken... it was deep-fried.
Phil stumbled over to the turducken's final resting place. She reached out, grasping the air as if to take hold of the sight. Falling to her knees, she screamed, "Noooooooooooo" After collecting herself, she extended her arm again. "●Dismiss" The melted jeep and charred bird disappeared. Phil then made a small shrine from the rubble. When she was done, she remarked, "Man, I hope he wasn't at a dinner party or something. Heh, wow. That'd be a surprise." |
Fenris grabbed the gender switchy staff, and went to revert Phil back to normal. It made a fizzly noise. Nothing happened.
"Oh crap..." she muttered. "Y'know, this wouldn't be such a problem if my back wasn't killing me!" she moaned. Used to being a guy, she wasn't used to having so much weight out front. Her outfit caused her to wobble around, causing even more pain. "But my back pain isn't the main issue here, the main issue is how do we get back to normal? Being a chick isn't bad and all, but I'd really rather be back in my own body," she said. Gesturing to her, well, ample endowments, she continued, "This just will not do." How unfortunate that the gesture caused her even more back pain. She winced and sat down on the ground, puzzled as to what to do next. 'I really hope they don't try to kill me for this. That wouldn't be much fun at all.' |
It's hard being a telepath.
The small, dust covered and distinctly ruffled form of Hawk slowly half crawled, half stumbled and half staggared to her feet from out under the rocky debris.
Then Mauve tripped over her. "HEY, watch where you're fainting! You already brought down a damned volcano on top of me!" Shaking herself off, Hawk caught sight of the defeated Manotaur lieing in the rubble.Huh, the guy's still in one piece? Is he dead? Hawk made her way over to do a closer inspection and found out her answer. Well, he appears to be breathing, so I guess so. "HA, so much for being such a Big Man, beaten by a girl! And speaking of which..." She looked over at Fenris. "Hey, Fenrietta, make with magics already, I want my real form back, the pms is killing me!" ... "Note to self, learn when to shut the fuck up." |
Fenris boomer-hammered Hawk again.
"If you had been paying attention with your so-called super hawk hearing, you'd have realized that I can't turn anybody back because the staff is dead." She caught her hammer and winced as another shot of pain launched up her back. With the adrenaline that comes from battle no longer running through her arteries, she had to rest for a while before doing anything too taxing. |
Nikose, having somehow survived the blast despite being in front of the manotaur, stood and announced to everyone:
"It's still alive, it's just out cold. And I'm naked." He looked at FenrisChick. "You're prettier as a girl." |
"The staff is dead?" MT echoed. "...Oh dear."
Having already gotten used to the female form (more or less), MT was only somewhat perturbed by this news. Others didn't look too pleased with the arrangement. "Hang on a sec, Fenris. I doubt any of these'll work, but I've got hundreds so it's worth a shot..." She produced a number of potions and vials from her pack, which she proceeded to try on Fenris. "Remedy!" Nothing happened. "Full Heal!" Nothing happened. "Holy Water! Elixir! Panacea!" Nothing happened. "Bah." MT sat down and sighed. She hadn't expected any of them to work, but it was still disappointing. Looking up and noticing Nikose's predicament, she turned to Phil. "Hey Phil, d'you think you could teach Nikose that clothes-poof maneuver? He looks like he could use it." |
