The St. Beleth Highschool Nightmare
Summer, 2006
The St. Beleth Highschool Deemer lay in his bed, one of the many in the dormitory 160, located on the fourth floor of the building, which he shared with several other people. It was a sunny day, and the temperature was around the 45 degrees celsius (113 farenheit), making it uncomfortable to even go outside as was his habit. Instead, he read a small book and grumbled a bit every minute or so. His discomfort was not only because of the opressive heat, but also because it was one of the few days he had to see his parents, as every kid in the school. He disliked both his parents and the large amounts of people that gathered at the institution "Any moment now, the parents of every single guy in this room will come in. I wonder how long it'll take mine to start an argument with me?" He whispered to himself (I didn't mention this earlier, but all of our characters should be room-mates. Not necesarily close friends, though) |
Brian whistled as he walked down the hall, he had that strange gleam in his bloodshot eyes that he always had whenever he was up to no good. He loved parent visitation day, not because he liked his parents (heck he hated Mary, and she was guaranteed to show up), not because he liked large groups of people crowding his space, but because he knew the parents would be unsuspect and naive to his pranks. They were unsuspecting victims that would jump twice as high as any student or faculty member.
As for the bloodshotness of his eyes it had to do with the fact that his preparations had limited him to a mere 2 hours of sleep last night. More than enough for him to function and operate at his normal level, but his appearance deffinently wasn't better because of it. As far as prepartions, well whats the point of having an unsuspecting audience if you aren't going to do something big. Brian peered out his window (located on the top floor) and waited for his unwitting subjects to arrive. |
Marco considered parents day to be more or less a tiresome excersie, it meant talking to people he didn't like and having to explain to his parents why his grades still were not great. Having to be in front of all of these people while his parents admonished him wasn't exactly his idea of a good time. He passed the time fiddling on his laptop playing games and writing programs. It was too hot for him as well. The heat always bugged Marco, he liked the cold better. To him it was that you could always do something about being cold, but the heat you can never get rid of.

John lay on his bed trying to get some well deserved rest. It was a pity that his so-called room-mates were fidgeting intensively, probably nervous about their parents visiting. He sighed, wondering if one of his parents would turn up. It was unlikely but there was always a chance.
He looked around the room. There was zero to do in this heat and even terrorizing the emtionally challenged kid in th cornor (something he has been meaning to do) was a task which required a little too much effort. Oh well, he just had to get through the drama of today and he could get back to work on the students of this school. He cast one final look around the room said to himself "Well John another day another dollar." |
Just then, the parents started to arrive. The cars could be seen from a mile away, and many had just parked in front of the school.
Dozens were already waiting outside the school's door, right below Brian's window, and impatiently waited for a chance to see their children. Just then, the PA springed to life, filling the school with the cool, calculated voice of the headmaster's assistant: "To all students, your parents are currently arriving. You are to stay at your bedrooms and wait for them" Deemer put his book down. They were probably on their way to the room. That was too depressing to allow any kind of reading (I'm now letting everyone post when their parents arrive at the room, and you get to decide their behaviour, at least for a while. And, Brian's getting one chance at having fun h4x.m4g3, so make it a good one :D ) |
"Hey, Deemer." Zack strode into the room, smiling and sweaty. The two had been bed neighbors for a while. Zack was clad in full fencing gear, as the fencing club was scheduled for a demonstration for the parents. He glanced out the window, and spied his mother and father striding toward the school.
"God, I hate those two." |
John scowled at Zack when entered the room. If another one of these people decides to stroll on in he was going to lose his cool. Can no one let a man sleep in this day and age?
He sighed and then decided to make an unusual burst into speech "Why do I detect a note of frustration in the room? Aren't you people supposed to be happy about your parents visiting?" |
"Hi Zack" Deemer turned around to look at the person who had just arrived. Quite pale with a somewhat weak build except for his legs, Zack was a nice guy to be around with. Besides, he seemed to dislike his parents and Deemer could always sympathise with that.
When he heard John's comment, he looked at him with one of those wierd faces he liked to make. This one was a mix of disbelief with boredom and depression "The only reason I could be happy about today was if just one of them showed up, but I guess I shouldn't have high hopes about that" He disliked John quite a bit. He didn't really hate him, and he sure as hell didn't fear him, as he was convinced that one punch could knock him out cold and that was all the safety he needed "Aren't your parents coming here today, John?" |
The noise level in the dorm room got louder as more and more parents came in. Marco was more or less happy due to the fact that his parents had yet to show. " "Hey Zack" Marco said as he strolled into the room. Marco liked Zack, he didn't get computers or so it seemed, but at least he didn't try like some of the other kids did. Marco went back to his laptop waiting for his parents inevitable arrival.
|
"Possibly my father, but I wouldn't be suprised if he didn't turn up. My family is not what you would call well off and my mother has a certain... dislike of me, but then so do most people. Isn't that right Deemer? John said, an unusual show of his family history.
"Oh and... Zack is it? I wouldn't wear the fencing suit, less excuse for your mother to complain." |
