BM Unmasked

I think we have just seen BM's hat off, I didn't realise it until I looked at BM in the lastest episode, (I live for the noise) and realized that at one point his hat stopped, and instead of the blackness that usually covers his face, there was brown, Could that be part of his head? All I saw was the back, please correct me if I'm wrong but take a look at it would you. http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=040219

My theory (though probably not original) is that BM has sandy-brown hair and wears (for whatever reason) a black mask.

I think is hat is just messed up since it is the same color of his hat.....

Edit: Check the last few comics, its been like that since he was slammed into the armoire by Lich King. If you were wearing a hat and thrown into an invincible piece of furniture, wouldn't your hat get messed up?

Sarah Chlyallia 02-19-2004 08:37 PM

True.. but remember in the game that BM becomes a BW and the BW has sandy-brown hair.

Upon further investigation, that is just a normal BM's sprite. Nothing special that Brian did.

Yes, he does have brown hair because the edge of his hat can clearly be seen. (Another reason why this is a good statement is because when Black Mage becomes Black Wizard he looses the hat and his brown hair is perfectly visible.)

Yes, it is the same sprite that has been used throughout the series as it was the sprite from the first game. And the reason it is the same color as his hat is BECAUSE the game was originally only 8-bits of color, so they couldn't make another brown color for his hair as the palette was already filled. So they just used the same color. Just because it's brown like his hat doesn't mean it's a part of his hat.

Below, you can see my interpretation of what Black mage looks like without a hat.

What I think BM looks like without his hat. When you think about it, he's kinda cute.

Didn't we just do this?

Well, I recall a comic strip which explains it perfectly.

That's not his head under the hat, its a bowling ball. With lights for eyes.
