Samus Aran. Best character ever. Though female, nobody needed any skimpy outfits to push this girl to number one among fans. She isn't even really a true hero... she's a bounty hunter/mercenary. How cool is that?

Let's face it. She wears a suit made by the greatest species to ever live in the universe, and is designed to adapt alien technology seamlessly.

Samus is the greatest thing ever.

I'll admit, I'm a little dissapointed that Samus didn't cut MC down like a good mercenary should do. That would have simply made it a better ending.

Just for the record, I did post this over here just yesterday... Though I suppose it might get more appropriate attention here.

First off Samus ain't a merc, she's a bounty hunter which in the universe she comes from are more like elites payed incredibly well to do special missions for the GF, more like "Your mission is should you choose to accept it" than actual freelancers, they aren't part of the military because they're too powerful to be controlled so they're asked to help and otherwise are free to do as they want. She also doesn't hunt the Space Pirates for money she hunts em for revenge, she's just smart enough to get payed for her pangalactic revenge-driven genocide.

So yeah she's a hero, she's doing this to get revenge for her parents and home planet and she works explicitly for the Federation.

Also as I understand from some Halo fanboys that's not MC but a female SPARTAN from the books and a DOA game.

Otherwise agree, Samus kicks all levels of arse and MC while cool is a pussy in comparison.

Lara Croft? I don't think so.
Joanna Dark? Um... no.
Princess Peach? Ok I'll admit my entire argument starts to fall apart at this point.
Princess Zelda? This is where it REALLY falls apart.
But then I realized that my case makes an exception for princess characters, so I'm still good.

Samus is simply an awsome character, with amazing games.
I EAGERLY await a Metroid Prime for the Wii.

I thought people posted and talked about Haloid way sooner than yesterday. Huh. Maybe I just assumed this community would have.

I really don't want to tread into a vs.-thread mentality, but suffice to say I don't feel that either of them has a clear advantage over the other, their zealot fanbases aside. So, I liked the video; until the whole "LOL LOVE STORY" or whatever that was supposed to be. I suppose I liked it in terms of Intarwebz comedy or something.

I believe the term you're looking for is "Hot Lesbian Action" or, more commonly, "HLA".

you know who would be a good match for Samus? Boba Fett. i think they'd get along swimmingly. Samus is a working girl, so she wouldn't want to settle down any time soon, but one day, maybe.

I'd consider Aran to be the least skimpily dressed vidjo geam character of all time. 99% of every Metroid game has her chugging along in the impossibly bulky Power Suit, the design of which incorporates practical armoring, as opposed to LOL CLEAVAGE. Sure, you get to see her in some bitchin' non-suit outfits at the end of the games, but that's only for people who just zip through the damn things. And since Metroid games largely encourage exploration, it, by that logic, discourages the speedrun for tits approach. The closest she's ever come to kinky is the last part of Zero Mission and SSB: Brawl.

Wii = Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, yo. At least I think so. >_>
