Ah yes. I have just recently got into this, and I think it's a lot of fun. However, you're right, people need to know the rules, but if not, it's fun anyway because the rest of the group gets to beat down the person who cheats...

Ever seen "Who's Line is it Anyway?" It's that... just with some sort of storyline.

It's a mix between this and that show...

Well, I've seen the show, but it would seem to be very odd to apply that to an RP...

Well first of all it requires a simular rules system as forum RPing. If some one hits you acknowledge that you were hit.

It isn't like whose line in a funny sence. Well I will put it this way with a scenario

*your opponet is an evil wizard, you are a warrior*
you wanna chop his head off, instead of rolling to see if you hit him, you swing at him as if you had a sword.

If he doesn't react in time or have a respawn ability, he is dead. Thats the basic concept

another way to look at it, you enact your game instead of sitting, rolling, talking.

It is great exorcise and lots of fun, but has lose rules so you should only do it with fair people. Here is an example of what happened. (keep in mind I make people days, even weeks in advance)

Me, "this enemy produces an energy field that over-loads machines"
Friend (RPing a machine), "no, I have a field that counters the field" *holds my wrist*
Me, "ok then I break off my arm and regenerate" *doesn't let go*

later
me, "I self-destruct destroying you"
friend, "no because I have an army of doubles and just activate a new one"
me, "I blew up the planet they were on remember"
friend, "well I have others I didn't tell you about"

You kinda need the equivalent of a DM that makes enemies and decides what is fair. Also everything needs a weakness. But thats just how I play

Aw man... I love enacting the parts! That reminds me... I need to see when we're doin' that again...

Anyone else start pretty much from scratch, you know making your own instead of acting out, lets say, DnD
