POTTERMANIA!

Snape is evil, you know it's true don't even lie.

Well... while I can see an argument or two in his defense, I am inclined to believe that the simpler answer is the correct one in this case.

So yeah, pretty much.

Nah he's a good guy. Dumbledore was all like "Kill me so they trust you!" and Snape was all "Schweet."

SPECULATION!

Harry will inherit Fawkes.

I think that the final book is going to disappoint me utterly. I just know that it's going to go all complete Dark Side of the Force on us. You just know that Harry is going to go out on a witch hunt, and then Ron is going to be all furious at him for one thing or another and become a Death Eater, and Malfoy is going to be his only ally because, oh shit I don't want to be evil, I just want to be a jackass! So they both team up for a showdown with Ron and Voldermort, blah blah blah.

God Damn if I'm not going to read it, but still.

When's it out again?

Woulda done it either way. Remember that little Unbreakable Vow? Killing Big D was part of Malfoy's 'assignment,' so thanks to that Vow, Snape had to fill in for Malfoy when he stumbled.

It would help tremendously if we knew why he made the Vow in the first place.

My speculation is still that even if Harry does kill Voldemort (I'm only JUST reading book 6 now and am almost finished- I borrowed them to catch up) Even if Harry does take down Voldemort in book 6, Voldemort will somehow live on. In fact, I have this strange feeling that Harry is a Horcrux himself- it would explain a few things to me anyway. Stupid theory but it's possible.

My other theory is that Harry becomes Voldemort V2.0.

Nevertheless, he's trustworthy. Dumbledore didn't change his mind, so since he's pretty much the reader's only window into Snape's inner character there's no reason to change one's mind, neither.

*sigh* I'm on edge with this one. This last book is going to be insanely different for the rest; search for horcux, incredible danger, search for another one, more danger, oh no death eater, search for horcrux, etc. They're not even going to the school, this time around. It's like it belongs in a whole 'nother series, if you ask me.

I want Snape to be evil. I want it to just be left at that. But knowing Mrs. Rowling, she'll be all, "HA TRICKED YOU HE'S GOOD." Because nothing is ever that simple with a guy like Snape.

J. K. Rowling's dismissed that rumor as false already, I believe.
