Getting a game tomorrow..but what one?

So tomorrow I'm going to grab another PC game so that I can at the very least have something besides RO to suck up my time.

I'm interested in something with massive replayability that was released recently. Something with depth and customization. Something that'll devour my time so rapidly and so easily that my days off of work will vanish into the netherworld.

Anything that doesn't require a gamepad is fine. Strategy games might be best...I don't know.

I rather like the Warlords series of RTS games :)

I have Warlords Battlecry 3. Something like 18 races, and like 21 classes for your hero. Its a fun game. Not for everyone though :P

Galactic Civilizations 2.

TBS akin to Civ III, except in space. Large control over which race you play (Custom!), how you conduct yourself (however you want!), and a ship builder. It's ridiculously fun. The soundtrack is a bit lacking, however; I play my own music in the background.

EDITUS: Geh. RTS != TBS

Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade

'nuff said.

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl. FPS/RPG hybrid set in an open, post apocalyptic world that is full of territorial combat, mutant hunts, artifact collecting, and an epic mystery to solve. Excellent game.

If your computer can handle it, Oblivion. If your computer can't then Morrowind. If your computer can't handle either I recommend a new computer. That is unless you already have them.

Then I suggest looking for one of the later games from the Myst series. I've not tried the MMORPG one but that seems so contrary to what Myst is that it can't possibly be as fun.

I'm not really that much into PC gaming because I am more interested in portables, but still, I like to play them.

Now, If you are looking for a PC game with a high replay value, customization and such, you can buy WoW: The Burning Crusade (as long as you have enough cash for the trial that is) or Oblivion. Those are the games I can recommend to you, but at the end, the choice will be yours. After all it is your money and you can waste it on anything you want.

On the first point, totally seconded. You'll be paralysed by the possibilities!

On the second bit, not quite so much. Myst != customizability or replayability. However, they take bloody forever to complete, so that may be a good compensation.

Remember for WoW you have a monthly fee. For something similar, but far cheaper, Guild Wars (Any of the 3) is roughly $50 with no subscription. It lacks rapid or simultaneous replayability, however, unless you're into PvP.

Also, if your computer can handle it, obligatory SupCom plug. Like all RTS games, though, be prepared to play multiplayer; that's where the real fun lies.

STALKER. Really, get it.

Pre-order Starcraft II.

Or buy Half-Life I, II, and Episode I. It's got a great plotline, HLI being just another day at the office, while HL2 informs you of a greater plot at work. HL2 is one of my favorite computer games.
