Hawk was just entering the room when the familiar voice of REI announced the initiation of procceedings. He noticed the buffet spread out across the room. Hmm, best not, the last time I ate a buffet with these people (strangely enough by a certain other capitalist type) it had rather unfortunate side effects.

Keeping well away from the food, Hawk watched the happenings of the NPFers. He could scarcely imagine the destruction all of these NPFers under a single roof could cause. Perhaps that in itself was all the information he was after...

There was a slight glimmer in space around Hawk for a few moments, and then it was gone.

Amalgam went and found Keyman, who was currently harassing Mauve next to the macaroni and cheese portion of the buffet table with information about exactly how Amalgams and DoppleNewbs worked on a mechanical and magical level. Amalgam tapped Keyman on the shoulder, and Keyman apologized to Mauve and Ecurt, then grabbed a large plate and went to sit down.

Keyman stared at the plate. "Maybe I should have put food on this."

Amalgam rolled his eyes, grabbed the plate, went to the buffet table, and returned with it shortly, this time with food on the plate.

I showed up, regestered, and decided not to eat, leaning agenst the wall, waiting for the event to start.

Pyros gasped. "She hurled Cheshire Thief! SHE MUST BURN! Kitty blast!"

A thin ray of concentrated heat went straight for the not very emphatic intelligence.

Melfice glared at Nikose, before finally becoming irked by the... fool's flirtatious attitude, and complete lack of, well, sense.

"What are you going on abou-" Then he noticed that spark in Nikose's eyes. He, indeed, was a complete tool. "Yes. Hats. Sadly, I forgot mine. You wouldn't happen to have a spare one, would you?"

Nikose rummaged in his cloak, before handing Melfice a wide brimmed, Deep Blue Pirates hat. "Here! this should do nicely!" he handed it with a grin to Melfice.

"Thank you very much, kind sir. I'm sure it shall do..." Melfice turned heel and sauntered off, back towards his corner, busily shaking his head at the poor soul he was just leaving behind.
"Poor man... he'll be eaten alive. Most literally too, if he meets up with that bear," Melfice muttered to himself.

K36 couldn't stop himself from laughing at Nikose and Melfice, "It looks good on you." Saluting Melfice and continuing "Off to plunder the high seas Captain?"

"Hmph." Melfice turned towards K36. "It is poor conduct to not humour a fool. Now, if you'll excuse me, I believe my plate of food is being ravaged by the bloody bear."
With that, Melfice ran over towards the bear, to pull him away from his chicken by his chain.

A number of calculations went through the POS Industries central computer at that moment. Internal sensors had immediately detected a concentrated fire attack moving rapidly in the Rei android's direction, allowing the Rei AI to quickly calculate an intercept velocity of appropriate force to deflect the beam.

All anyone in the room saw was Rei firing off a bolt of electromagnetic energy that exploded in the middle of the room, followed the the A/C automatically adjusting itself to quickly cool down the room after the following increase in temperature.

The android shot a wink at Pyros before going about her business.
