The Official "Show off your Mini's" Thread!

This is a thread for those of us who play or paint wargame miniatures, like those from Warhammer 40k or Warhammer Fantasy Battle.

Show off your stuff, comment on others, and give tips! :)

Here, I will start it off, with the only pic I got.

This here is Grunk, brother of Krunk, and one of the two Warbosses I have for my Orcs and Goblins Warhammer Fantasy army. I have a VERY small army at the moment, but I am working on it in anticipation of the Nemesis Summer Campaign thats starting.

Also, he is not finished as I am going to do a method called Dipping to do the highlights and darken him up. I am not a very good painter by far, but this was and is my first model I have ever done :) So given how he looks I am rather proud.

Now to get to work on my purple robed Night Goblins and multicolored Spider Riders :P

EDIT

Update!

Tonight, I dipped my Krunk Model. Above, you can see the Before shot. Now, see the After!

And now...what happens when the flash of the camera + a bright overlight meet? They Create...SHINY KRUNK!

DOOOO DEEEE DOOOO!!!!

I wanna post my Necrons, but my camera takes such awful pictures, its a really old digital camera, so it is too grainy to make out the details on a 40K piece.

Stomphoof 06-04-2007 09:29 AM

*nods*

Well, do what I did, have a friend take the pics :P

Lord of Joshelplex 06-04-2007 09:34 AM

Yeah, I guess. I'll see what I can do.

Stomphoof 06-04-2007 09:56 AM

Considering you mention your Necron's being pink in the other thread I know I wanna see em :P

Lord of Joshelplex 06-04-2007 10:15 AM

In the end I painted them Dark Green, but I still have 20 Warriors to paint, nothings sayin I cant paint a squad pink.

Yay for mini sharing! I enjoy Grunk's paintjob, he looks very frightful (and yet shiny, which would only solidfy his qualifications for leader). I too have stuff to share (of the Tau persuasion), which I hope you all enjoy.
First up is my first Warhammer model ever, and one of my two favouritest ones, my Hammerhead! *applause and cheers*

As this was my first, I spent a fiendish amount of time trying to get everything exactly the way I wanted it, and ended up using almost all my Vomit Brown in the process of painting.

Next is my Broadside, my other favouritest piece. Something about big guns just gets me, I donno. Incidentaly, this was my second model, which I also worked tediously on, and it turned out like so. I loathe working with those thrice-damned metal-esque parts, the paint wouldn't stick to them. I still like it, though.

A group of Fire Warriors I was setting up for a photo shoot I did. Detailing all twelve was a Herculean feat in itself, and that Vomit Brown I mentioned earlier is almost all gone.

And finally, the end things on a good note...

It's the team! More or less, anyway. I was going for action shots. Speaking of which, y'know what's fun? Putting big things that fly up on those plastic stick dealies and watching them wobble.
Good times were had.

I would like to see Brian's Tau, and more of Mirai Gen's 'Nids...

I am guessing I am one of the few here who plays Fantasy rather then 40k :P

Mirai Gen 06-04-2007 01:11 PM

I really like that orc, but I don't like the shiny skin. His color scheme rules, but something about having shiny skin and armor makes him look so....well, plastic.

I'll take some nid pictures later.

EDIT: Pictures taken.

This was actually a conversion. See the far right guy? His hand is actually holding a Devourer. I just hate the hand so I cut it off and stuck it in his Rending Claws hand with liberal amounts of plastic glue. It looks awesome now.

"Uh...Bob? D'you...d'you hear something?"

Nothing needs to be said.

The army looks fantastic in fights.

I actually have to do one more thing to finish him, which is hit him with a Dullcoat spray, which takes the shine off. He is not fully done but for the most part he is.

And dang dude, thats some sweet 'Nid's. once I finish my Orcs and Goblins I am thinking of starting in on 40k, but I dunno what army to start with. :P
