Favorite RPG skills
been playing a good number of rpgs lately, and with most RPGs come skills. and since 90% of rpgs are fantasy based, those skills are magic spells and whatnot. my point? im getting to it.
what are your favorite skills from any video game, any platform. ill give two categories, 1) most visualy impressive skill, and 2) most usefull (in game) skill. for myself, i've picked: 1) Forever Zero - Lynx's lvl 7 tech skill from Chrono Cross. 2) Melf's Minute Meteorites - Baulder's Gate II |
1) don't know........can't think........haven't played enough games
2) SCREW ATTAAAAACK!!!!!(does that count) |
1)X Buster - KOS-MOS long range technique.
2)Steal - Every game ever. |
1) Johnny Socko, I applaud your choice of skill. I also choose Forever Zero (Come on, with my screen name, what do you think I would pick?)
2) Moat useful would be the skill in Suikoden I that potentially kills the entire enemy party with one cast. It is actually a death spell that works, you can end a battle by casting this once! It isn't like those damn FF spells that don't actually kill anything... |

The arm and leg shot abilities from Final Fantasy Tactics. It makes the game much easier when your enemys can't attack or run away.
|
1) I'll get back to you on that one...
2) Ezel's Azoth spett in FFT:A, almost guarantees al of the enmey part falls asleep, giving your next attack(s) 100% accuracy! BOOYAH! |
1. Summoning from FFX, it just plain looks awsome.
2. Earth Slash from FFT, deadly and long range. |
I tend to use skills that aren't always the most useful, so I'll just give my favorites, regardless of whether they are visually appealling or not (actually the first two do fit into catagories rather well:
1) Dark Eternal - Magus, Marle, and Lucca's triple tech in Chrono Trigger (this was quite visually appealling actually, and friggin' powerful). 2) Hide in Plain Sight - Shadowdancer ability in Dungeons and Dragons (if a shadowdancer was within a certain distance from shadows, she could hide, even if you were looking directly her before she hid). Honorable mentions: Scan: if you need to ask, you are dumb. Sneak Attack - Rogue ability in D&D. Gave you extra damage if you caught the enemy off guard. Can effectively make your damage insane in higher levels. I'll come up with more if I remember them. |
1FF VII summon Neobahamaut or FF X Shivas overdrive
2.BACKSTAB(with critical hit)! My all time favourite! |
