Magic Rising; Chapter 2. In a storm...
Something walked out and roared with primal fury. Then noticed the group, and walked into the light.
It was one of the things that Rabryn's memories had showed them. Rabryn looked panicked and said, "They must have learned of what I'm doing, they're coming for me!" It charged. Linar met it's sword with his staff, raised it up, then deftly spun around and slammed it into the thing's gut. it stumbled back when he kicked it, then when it fell he slammed one end of his staff onto it's throat. It vanished, leaving only some blood of Linar's staff, and some blue dust on the floor. Which is exactly when another door opened and a curious guard stepped out. And saw his dead comrade. Then saw Linar's bloody weapon. And the weapons of everyone else. And went to grab the alarm bell. When the rope burst on fire. He turned and was smacked five times across the face rapidly by Linar's staff. After he crumpled unconsciously to the floor, Linar turned to the group. "Hit your rooms, grab what you need. They'll probably notice that we're gone, find this, and assume the worst. And with my pappy's reputation, we're probably gonna' be branded as traitors and terrorists." Linar sighed, and dropped down to make sure the guard was only unconscious. |
Thoroughly confused Dahhn followed staff man.
|
Fenedr was in a daze. Too much wine had apparently erased any recollection of what was going on. He decided to follow the one who was barking out commands, at least until his head stopped pounding with pain.
|
*nods softly my voice a low raspy sound* Where do you want to meet up? It would seem the strings of fate has gathered us together for a reason. *Keeping my head downcast and my face hidden within the shadows of the hood*

Johnathan nodded. "Fine by me. It's a good thing I asked for half of the payment up front."
Dark ran up to the room that the he had rented out at the duke's request, and started collecting his belongings. He threw collected his cash, threw on his helmet, gauntlets, and other amor. He was just about to walk out the door when a guard walked up to him. "Mr. Dark, it appears there was an incident in the catacombs, 1 guard was killed, andother was injured We have witnesses saying you left the hallway at the time of the attack. What the hell happened?" "This happened..." Dark said, and he hit the guard in the nose with the palm of his hand. He felt the guard's nose break, and the gurad crashed into the opposite wall, uncoscious. Johnathan walked past the unconscious guard, and started running down the hall, heading for an exit, any exit...just some way out of the castle before the guards starting swarming. Or worse, another one of those things showed up. Hopefully, I can meet up with Linar and those others...we seem to be the only ones who belive Rabryn. |
Dezil was stunned by the suddeness of hte events, and knew he would have to report this, but he agreed, and took off to go to his room and suit up.
|
Jechir looked around stunned. What have I gotten myself into? And who is this Rabryn guy? He watched what was happening and heard Linar. Well, guess I better go along. I may be a thief, but I'm a healer too. He looked up to the sky, thinking of his mother. Guess this little adventure is going to be for you. I won't let you down this time. He then drew his rapiers, ran to where he saw the guy apparently named Dark go. He saw the man and asked, "How can I be of help?"

Luthien was trying to think up a way to get up to her room without her father noticing. She was walking alongide Linar into the ballroom when her father walked up to her. Before he could come within earshot, she grabbed Linar and whispered "play along". "Luthien, what was the meaning of your running off? The Duke was looking for you." "Oh father, enough about the Duke, have you met Linar here?" she slipped her arm around him. "He is the son of that Destroyer fellow." "D...d...destroyer? You're THAT Linar?" "Yes, we were just going to go up to my room to have a little conversation, is that alright?" Her father was sweating profusely. "Very well, a little conversation couldn't hurt, you two have fun." She slowly pulled Linar away and walked very slowly until her father looked the other way, then she grabbed him and ran like hell up the stairs, pausing only at the top. "That was easier than I thought. It seems your reputation can do some good after all. I'll be outside in a few minutes, lead the others towards the stables. There are no guards and I can pick up my horse, I'm sure some of the others have mounts as well." With that, Luthien hurried into her room and pulled out her armor.
OOC: Sorry for all of that, but I figured I shouldn't be the only one with a horse. |
"Me no like party people." Dahnn said after following Stickman (Linar) and touchy-feely girl (Luthien). He pulled out a flute of bone and began to play a spell. blue smoke emerged from the holes in the flute as Dahhn played. Nobody seemed to notice the music or Dahhn except when he got close. Then they moved out of his way, not even paying attention to him. He then went up the stairs too. He stopped playing when he was well away from the mean party people.
ooc: The spell is called "Not my problem spell." It causes people to ignore the spells target because "it is not their problem". Thank you Douglas Adams. |
Quil, still a little shaky after what had happened, went back towards the main room. He quietly tried to sneak up to his room. 'I'm glad I always have a spare cloak.'
