God sues Sony.
Blasphamy!
Really, just wanted to share this with anyone who might not have heard. Thoughts? I'd offer some, but I'd rather not. |
I heard about this. I only find it really funny because there's nothing, I don't know, copyrighted about the church. Even if there was, it probably expired decades ago.
I doubt there's any legal footing. |
Wow, I mean, how could they ever even hope to get this lawsuit off the ground?
|
I think they're going for slander?
I heard something like that on Dutch news. If so, I expect them to turn on Black & White (2) next. Also, all sim games, as you're basically playing a god yourself. Slander, right there. Ridicule, right there. |
Here's the good part.

I wonder what they will do with Spore? After all it supports evolution and you know, science = evil |
AH YEAH, THE G-MAN GOIN' DOWN ON THEIR ASSES, BIATCH
Seriously though, who cares? Its a church, they've been in plenty of games |
Ctrl+alt+del has a comic on this. It's pretty funny.
I doubt there is any legal footing for the case, but I just thought of something funny the church might do to prevent this in the future. Church of God Copyright 2007 Church of England |
Yes but its a specific building. If you going to use an exact replica of a building that is privately owned you must need permission.
My friend used to own a house that was the "outside shot" of one of the main character's houses in a local soap. It was only ever a photograph and there was no shots inside the house and they still need permission to put it on screen. |
While this is a ridiculous law suit, I say more proof that Sony is destined to fail.
Edit: I highly doubt the church would win such a law suit but, these days you can get sued if someone burns there lip on your coffee. |
