Items of the Divine
(news reports are things in the media that might be of interest. Obviously unless your character is researching or is around when its on he or she would not know of these broadcasts directly)
Today researchers have been researching a new possible energy source. This newly discovered battery like device could potentially supply the entire nation with electricity. However they are still unsure how to properly disperse this new power source. |

Roland shut off his whinny television, slipping on glasses as he coordinated between finishing his bagel and stuffing the loose files into his briefcase. After confirming how late he was by checking his watch, he finished off his breakfast and rushed out the door before stopping in his tracks immediately outside his locked door. "Damnit. I forgot my keys." He looked over his shoulder and politely cleared his throat. "I said, I need to get my keys from inside." He checked his watch. A few moments later, his keys shimmered from the door, floating towards him in midair. He grabbed the small figure on the end of the keychain and pocketed the set. "Thanks. Damn I'm late." |
The alarm went off when the clock struck noon. Princilla was the first up. Turning to her left in the bed, she reached over and shut off the alarm, then climbed out of bed. She had to go to work in four hours to relieve Julia and she had several errands to run before that.
Yawning, Julia slipped out of her tank top and panties and frced herself into the shower when she longed to just collapse back into bed. The water did little to wake her up, but at least it helped her warm up. After shower, she changed into some blue jeans and a sleeveless bright green turtleneck. Finally, she dug into her jewelry box and pulled out the choker she had gotten as a birthday present from her parents when she was only fifteen. As she put it on and hid it inside the turtleneck's collar, Princilla wondered if her parents knew about the power of the choker before they bought it, or before they gave it to her. "Doubtful," she said, checking her hair, makeup, and earrings and finally exiting the house with her grocery list and other errands. Before closing the door, she remembered that she had left the television on. "Today researchers have been researching a new possible energy source. This newly discovered battery like device could potentially supply the entire nation with electricity. However they are still unsure how to properly disperse this new power source." When did they leave the TV on the news? Neither Princilla nor Julia cared very much for news. They both loved sitcoms and cartoons too much to bother with any channels that had news shows, or at least legitimate news shows. "Battery like device that could power a whole nation, huh? Sounds like my choker," Princilla said to herself after she turned off the TV and left. |
John looked down at his watch. "8 o'clock" He murmered to Allan. "Are you ready?" Allan responded. They looked like monsters. John turned his gaze from the bank door to Allan, dressed in black, the same as he was, with kevlar from the neck down to his boots. "Go." John shouted, and pulled his balaclava down over his face. Allan did the same, and they both walked from their getaway car, a white subaru legacy, and strolled into the bank.
"Welcome to Wacho-" the teller started to say, but then looked up at the two. "EVERYBODY GET ON THE ****ING GROUND!" Allan screamed. Everyone complied, but the tellers hand slipped under the counter before she laid on the ground. "John get the safe, ill watch for the cops, that bi*** pressed the alarm." Allan snarled, pointing his sawed-off shotgun at the teller. "You, come with me" "Im just a teller! Please! I dont want to die!" "Calm down, i just need you to open the safe." While John worked with the safe Allan stood guard in the front room, watching the prisoners. He walked to each of them, holding a bag. "Alright people. Put anything valuable youve got in this bag. Nobody try being a hero either." The last person he got to was an old, white haired man. "C'mon, put your wallet in the bag." Allen spotted a ring on his finger. "Dont be greedy either, throw that in too." "No. Please, its all i have left." "Not my problem." Allen said, and leveled his shotgun to the mans forehead "Whats more valuable to you, that stupid ring or your face?" "I suppose its time i let go. Ive lived long enough" The old man said, and put the ring in the bag. Allan didnt understand. "Senile old man." "Alright, lets get out of here!" John stormed from the back of the bank, A gymbag slung under one arm, and his AK47 under the other. ((OOC: Waiting to see if the host is going to make the cops show up, otherwise ill finish this.)) |
Sitting beside a large window on in the upper floor of his high school, Crhys was busying himself reading a book. Garbed in usual style of dress, a pale grey pair of pants that were near white in the sunlight coming from the window, and a plain green short sleeved shirt, he seemed to be completely relaxed, despite the test he had in the next class.
"I really don't understand why people get worried about these kind of things." Crhys thought to himself. "It doesn't do any good. Better just to be prepared." Of course he knew that he did have an unfair advantage, especially in languages. While he tended to avoid relying too heavily on it, he still used it. At times he hated himself for it, but he admitted to himself, at times at least, that he needed the help to maintain a 90 average on all his grades. He ran his hand through his short hair; he was secretly vain about it. But he knew his hair looked like bright spun silver in the sunlight when he took care of it well. "I can be proud of something other then my grades..." He thought. The small radio he had playing beside him suddenly switched to the news, and like earlier today, the female announcer came on talking about that super battery. "Well, it sounds useful if nothing else..." Crhys commented to himself. After a moment he went back to reading his book quietly. |
"...disperse this new power source." Zekai wasn't really paying much attention to the news, but still it droned on endlessly in the background. Zekai leaned on the counter, the register was to his right, in front of him was his physics book. When Zekai signed up for classes, he had made sure he had a day free each week, originally he intended to catch up on his studies, his boss decided it was better used working, so far he had managed to fulfill both obligations at once.
"Weekdays are so slow anyway." Zekai muttered to himself as he turned the page. He returned his right hand to the edge of his cup and began to swirl his finger in the soda. He let out a sigh and fished an ice cube out of the cup and quickly popped it into his mouth. |
"... disperse this new power source." Brian dlistened to as he drove to the college. "New super energy source, as if they're going to crack it" he mumbled as he parked. He got out and headed to his lecture room.
|
Bob sighed as he heard the news broadcast , undoubtedly the new energy source would bring bid proposals and mountains of approvals his way. Then would come the protests of college students over ruining the environment by bringing cheap power to them. Fortunetly that could be years in the future, and not a problem for now, now he had other problems, speaking of which...
"Incoming Call" The emotionless female voice of his car phone announced. Sighing yet again, Bob hit the connect button, "Hey Bill, yeah I know, tell them I'll be there as soon as I can... Yes, I'm hurrying... This traffic is killing me, I know you guys need me there, just don't start without me okay? Oh, and Bill... Grab me a switchback, traffic just let up!" Shaking his head and smiling Bob, finally hit the freeway and was on his way to City Club, the best golf club in town. He was holding his foursome up and the starter could be a real bastard. |
"Hey, Princilla."
Princilla was deciding how many boxes of mac 'n' cheese she should get when she heard a familiar voice. Turning around, she was almost embarrassed to see the two of them, mainly because she didn't have a boyfriend of her own. "David, Pamela, hi." David is one of the guys who deals with the wine at Victoria, offering recommendations to customers based on their orders and serving it. Pamela is one of the bunny girls working at Victoria like Princilla. They'd gotten married about two weeks ago, and were still lovey-dovey to the point of embarrassing those around them. Princilla was thankful that the manager of the restaurant forbid them from public displays of affection while at least one of them was on the job. It wouldn't interfere with David and Pamela's professions, but it would make Princilla uneasy. But it didn't mean they weren't good friends. "Oh, you're not with Julia today?" David asked. Princilla shook her head. "She's on shift right now. Us two girls can't always be joined at the hip, you know." Pamela finally broke her arm lock on David to approach Princilla and chat up. "Did you hear, Princilla? They're hiring someone new." Princilla didn't really care. "Do you know who Katherine is going to place her under?" she asked, saying the manager's name. "It's a young guy, actually. And I managed to sneak a peek at his picture. It was actually kind of difficult to tell the gender. In fact, I didn't know it was a man until Katherine said so." "He looked like a girl?" Princilla had a feeling she knew exactly who he was. "Apparently so," David answered for Pamela. "From what Katherine told me, he's got a rather feminine body, and even his voice sounds kind of girly. I'd bet everything that if you didn't hear this from us, you'd swear he's a new girl that was mistakingly put into a waiter's uniform." Princilla counted four boxes of mac 'n' cheese and put them into her shopping cart. She might as well ask. "Would his name happen to be Terrance?" Pamela and David glanced at each other. "How did you know that?" Pamela asked. "Oh, you already have your designs on him?" Princilla mimiced throwing up a bit. "Only if I'm some incest freak. I'd bet everything that his last name is Morrison, making him my little brother." Pamela blinked. "You never told me that you had a cute little brother like him." "If I did tell you about him, would you have simply abandoned David and went after Terrance instead?" Princilla smirked at David. "I feel sorry for you, man." The man simply sighed and slumped over a bit. Pamela loved cute things, and would promptly take Terrance to a world of adult womanhood that he probably wasn't quite ready for before he could even introduce himself. "Besides," Princilla said, looking back at Pamela. "He's got a crush on Julia." Looking thoughtful, she continued. "Speaking of Terrance, that's probably the reason he joined Victoria. To be closer to Julia. Anyways, I've got work in a few hours and I still have several errands to run so I'll see you two tonight then, I guess." |
(ok time to ke something happen)
Suddenly all felt a shaking. The ground rumbled and a low roar. Shortly after an emergency report came on. The screen showed a massive crater. Complete devistation surrounding it. The reports were on all stations. "This was the scene only a few hours ago at the northeast energy research lab where they were testing this mysterious new power source. The authorities are still trying to find what went wrong. But it appears no one at the lab survived." |
