Zeldish: A Sprite Comic
What happens when you put four Links with different personalities into a comic? With action, plot, humor, all new angles never before seen in sprite comics, neat special effects, and a great storyline, Zeldish proves not to be your average sprite comic. What starts as a simple mission to find Zelda's easter egg quickly turns into a full blown adventure! Read Zeldish now and enjoy the ride!
Zeldish is a sprite comic that I originally hosted at Zelda Universe, but since 8-bit Theater was the comic that got me to think of starting my own, I figured it would be nice to share it with you guys here. Feedback would be appreciated. If you commit to read on, you'll notice huge changes between the the first and last available comics. So please, I'd love some feedback. ^_^ Zeldish: A Sprite Comic Chapter 1: The Adventure Begins Part 1: Easter Egg Hunt Part 2: Eye Can See You! Part 3: For Hyrule! Part 4: Shadows of Darkness Part 5: The Power of Teamwork Part 6: Violet's Tale Chapter 2: The Curse of the Black Squirrel Part 1: Shadow Tricks Part 2: To Make a Long Story Long (Coming Soon) |
Umm, dude... I haven't even read your comic yet, so I'm not being entirely fair, but I'm already turned off by the simple fact that your sprites are blurred.
I'll be more thorough tomorrow when I have a chance to sit down and actually read and critique them, but right off the bat that's something that needs fixin'. |

The graphics are very good, much better than most sprite comics. The story is good. It's very funny and interesting.

Now, if they were actual 8-bit sprites being used, that would be an entirely different story. |

Would you mind posting what the unblurred sprites look like? There are multiple sprite comic artists on this board. I'm sure we could help you find a happier median. Okay, so I've had time to read through it now. Here's some stuff I jotted down as I went along. Chapter One: Pros: Good grammer, easy to read/make out text, unique/interesting text bubbles, monty python reference, good use of special effects (for the most part),. Cons: Not really that funny for my tastes; story hasn't really developed enough to grab my attention. I can't really tell the Link's apart other than by color--do they have distict personalities? The comics sometimes feel over-verbose (page six in particular). Chapter Two: The very first panel looks fantastic. I really don't see why the rest of them can't look like that, and once again, it's the blurring of the sprites that blemish it for me. Midway down the page, where they're actually make facial expressions, I can barely make it out. Other than that your timing is showing improvement. |
I like it. It reminds me of a cerain other comic in its early days.

Err... where are the links to the comics?
|
as said above.. a link would be awesome..

I believe he took the links out after getting bashed. I think I remember at one point there were some.
