ATOMIC ROBO ON 10/2007!!!!!!!!!!

Fuck yeah!!!

I've never been into Western Comics, so this would be my first entry into the world of the comic geeks. Such a delight that it has to be with Brian and Scott's work.

Tendronai 06-26-2007 06:55 AM

Hey, check it out. Brian is "renowned."

Now to wait until August for pre-orders.

Fenris 06-26-2007 10:01 PM

Oh man that's great news. I'll be checking out the local Mayhem for pre-ordery goodness.

I know this really well-stocked comic shop that had, among others, the Order of the Stick books. So, y'know, it might happen even without me especially asking them to stock it.

RickZarber 06-27-2007 08:44 PM

I've never actually ordered anything from a comic shop before. What's the minimum amount they usually order if only one person requests it?

'Cause, I really wanna try and get my comic book artist friends to buy copies, but I want there to be issues on the shelf after I talk it up...

Kurosen 06-27-2007 09:47 PM

It's up to the individual store. The best they can do is order based on what they feel the demand will be. If a lot of people specifically ask for a book they've never heard of, like ATOMIC ROBO for instance, that'll probably be taken as a fair indicator that it will be worth the risk to order extras to put on the shelves.

I will be checking each monthly issue of Previews as it comes out under Red 5 Comics...so far nothing. I'll keep you posted.

Yeah, no Robo in July edition...though if it is really coming out in october, it won't be in until august.

That's what I was figuring. Just thought I'd inform those not intimately familiar with Diamond's shipping routine about when and where to look.

It comes out in the AUGUST Previews, which says JULY on the cover, but is for books coming out in OCTOBER. Makes perfect sense to me!

Neko -well you may be in luck. I don't really read Western comics either. My stuff is influenced mostly by Manga and European styles. Not to say there aren't some amazing Western artists who I steal ideas and techniques from all the time. ;)

But I can literally count the number of comics I read each month on one hand. I suppose I'll read ROBO just to geek out over it, but I'll need to enlist the help of a second thumb to count books then. I can't wait to see this thing in print.
