Lil'... Bush?

Seriously, I've never seen an episode of it. Yet, anyway. (Anyone who has seen it, tell me what it's like.)

But, this isn't about the show, which is why it isn't here.

This is about the prospect behind the show. Think about it; we currently have a president so horrible, that the people of America are obliged to make a cartoon about him.

This is not only a testament to Mr. Bush's idiocy, no. This is also a testament to the day and age we live in. The "Web 2.0" age.

Don't like something? Neither do they. Team up and do something with the hate. Love something? So do those people over there. Get together and do something productive with it.

Of course, the media has always been a political device, but this seems to be something new...My question is, will we be seeing more of this? This seems to be quite direct, whilst other political medias seem to be somewhat subtle.

And, just so this isn't a complete waste of time, what would you like to see adapted as a comedy cartoon?

Well I want to see them take this show back to the time when people actually cared about Bush jokes. And into a place with writers that are funny and animators that try to make more than one frame of animation a second. Yeah, the show, not good. At least That's My Bush was more like a parody of sitcom cliches in general, this is just annoying and stupid. But I digress. The concept of this show is being used past it's prime. Yeah, Bush is dum, hur hur, been there done that to death. If they wanted topical political humor (hell, the show still has Rumsfeld in it, it's that behind the times), they should have focused on the burgeoning 2008 elections.

That's the problem with some of these concepts. They have such a limited time of relevence.

That's My Bush was actually funny, I wish they hadn't canned it.

Li'l Bush is a trainwreck. They use about 8-12 bad jokes per minute. The animation itself is about as shitty as it could get. Making fun of Bush is NOT hard to do, yet this show fails miserably at it. It's as much of a failure as the president they are mocking.

Also, political cartoons are not exactly original.

Just what I was thinking. Bush may not be the best, but what we're seeing here is not the country's response to him being terrible. Rather, it's a modernization of an historic tradition.

Also, from what I've heard, I guess Lil' Bush was made waaay back at the beginning of his term (before everyone started hating him), but then 9-11 happened and I guess they decided the show would be in bad taste. So they waited until now to release it.

Actually, it started as a series of shorts that launched on Amp'd Mobile equipped phones. Since Amp'd came about in 2005, the concept is really only a few years old. So, no, it's a late-comer in the BUSH IS DUM game.

That's My Bush was the early term show. It started on April 4th, 2001. Don't mistake it with Lil' Bush, it was actually pretty good, and less about Bush and Politics than it was an attack on Sitcoms in general. Parker and Stone are comic geniuses. Also, That's My Bush was cancelled due to budget reasons at Comedy Central three and a half months before September 11th.

Though, the 'series of cellphone shorts being made into a full fledged TV show' is a bit troubling. What's next if that's the case? 30 minute episods of Weebl and Bob? Even the best of the shorts probably wouldn't hold up that well as a full-fledged show.

Hell, I don't even have to watch the show to see how shitty it is. Come on Comedy Central. What's happening? Did someone, like, suck the very soul out of you? Seriously, the only funny shows on Comedy Central, IMO, are The Colbert Report and, sometimes The Daily Show.

Used_Potato 06-27-2007 12:35 AM

Obviously, CC believes this will make them a sizable shitload of money in a short amount of time. After all, everyone knows that Bush is the shittiest president ever spawned in the history of time and space, right? How could this possibly go wrong?

Oh believe me, it CAN, because anything is possible in the world of self-assumed realities. Make no mistake, this livid crapfest is manifest in the eyes of its creators only as another squirt of liquid gold forcibly squeezed from the rancid, aging tit of the haggard and malnourished sow that is a Bush joke. These people are not idiots; they KNOW this show is a disaster. But it's a disaster that may yet put just one more dollar in their tight little fists.

Bush supporters will say that this doesn't work for obvious reasons. I say this as being one of them, though I will quickly admit that his views on immigration are shit. But now Bush haters and lovers alike, stop your incessant bitching and moaning; stop arguing over whether Iraq is a manifest failure or a foregone success, and finally come together in peace and harmony, under the knowledge that Lil' Bush is an infathomable piece of shit.

Well, they are going to be airing new episodes of Futurama (granted, they're just going to be those four Direct to video movies that were planned for it, but hey, if it proves popular, more episodes), and South Park is still good from time to time. But they really need to stop trying to get these animated series to work. They try to be too edgy with it, without actually being funny about it.

They already are. They already are.

I'm gonna go ahead and say this goes here.

As to the subject I guess my opinion would be along the lines of "However shitty a job someone does of calling Bush awful, that's still less shitty than how awful Bush continues to be."
