http://www.nuklearforums.com/showth...8276#post58276

i don't need it anymore since i have the one in the comics forum

Mashirosen 02-25-2004 02:45 PM

Done!

Um... should this have been a new topic?

I, too, have a request. And I don't expect it to be granted, but I'm having trouble not being frusterated by it...

I want it to be locked, but if not that, at least move it to general, sense the thing is not actually a video game at all, but an incredibly offensive social commentary with a rather ill-defined point.

It'll probably be locked as that it goes against the religious discussion rule, and that's one the mods take real serious. I used the report post button on that thread too.

Because I didn't know there was already one on the subject.

Futhermore, is it possible for the mods to make it possible for members to close their own posts? That would make this all unnecessary...

Mashirosen 03-08-2004 02:00 AM

You guys can do that already, can't you? Fiddle around with your posting options and see what happens. If it turns out you can't, you could always ask Pierre nicely to look into it.

I'm sorry for not seeing these requests until so late, I've been away from the computer since Friday morning.

Just to be clear on this point, if I ever am wont to post in such a thread:

Are there any ways in which two or more posters involving the subject of religion would not get locked? I've got no problem if there aren't, but I am curious, regardless. Sorry if the details are in the forum rules - I don't remember reading too much about it.

well

You'll hear no complaint from me. I'm impressed with the moderation efforts thusfar. You guys run a fairly tight ship here. So thank you.

We can delete our own posts, surely... but I'm not sure about closing whole threads... Even if we could, that would seem to ... not make alot of sense, as once several other people get into the disscussion... its' "ownership" becomes questionable, if exsistent at all. But thats just my opinion, and not nessecerily correct... I mean, if all the traffic for you guys is too much to handle, adding that kind of user ability may lighten the load quite a bit...

Sure -- if the posters took it to PMs or to e-mail. Like I said, I was really impressed and pleased that the most recent discussion had remained so relatively civil, but the thing about religious threads is that, in our experiences with these boards so far, they never stay that way for long. Even in the EZ-Board days this was a problem -- it's just beyond some people to talk calmly about the subject. I suppose you have to respect the profundity of their feelings about their faith even while being irked as hell by the way in which they choose to express it, but that doesn't make "omg ur all goign 2 h*ll n im glad abuot it" posts any less obnoxious to deal with.

Ah, a sort of stop it before it has the chance to happen kind of thing? Good call. Thank you kindly.
