Worst MTG card

see the title? that is the question. I will say either sorrows pass or apocalypse chime...

Cursed Monstrosity.
Soul Gorger Orc
Filthy Cur

CheshireThief 02-25-2004 06:21 PM

I'd have to agree with Filthy Cur. I hate that card!!

Ember Shot R 6
For a total of 7 mana you deal 3 damage and draw a card

Stover 02-25-2004 08:39 PM

Look up what Filthy Cur does. Ember Shot is a gift from God compared to Filthy Cur.

Any card that can do damage is not the worst card. They may be overcosted and generally unplayable, but they can still win you the game.

Great Wall is generally considered to be the worst card. Being able to block creatures with plainswalk as if they didn't have plainswalk is not all that useful, unless someone is playing a graceful antelope deck.

I actually used to have a Grace Antelope deck. It kicked ass.

Great Wall: Sure, it is friggin' useless, I'll give you that. I don't know if it's the worst card. I mean, there are plenty of cards out there that are useless AND hurt you in the process.

Filthy Cur: Eh. Keep it out of combat and you should be just fine. There are multiple creatures with an ability along those lines, now that I think about it.

Anyway. Like I said, the truly worst card would not only be damn near useless, but hurt you to boot. Thus, I submit to you the following:

Carnival of Souls
Casting Cost: 1B
Type: Enchantment
Whenever a creature comes into play, you lose 1 life and add B to your mana pool.

Gah. What a terrible card; during your opponent's turn, it might as well say "Take 2 damage whenever a creature comes into play."

Incorrect. There is a very deadly Combo involving CoS, Apprentice Necromancer and that card that gives you one life every time a creature comes into play which can help you geenrate infintie life and mana at instant speed.

EDIT; Not deadly - my mistake. More of "off-the-wall" than anythign else.

Ok there is a reason for all these serious drawbacks on these cards, and if you dont like the drawback there is only one thing you need to know. Its a little blue card called donate. Donate the CoS against a white weenie deck and its pretty much play no creatures and lose or play creatures, lose life, and then lose.
