"... another angel, I think!" Ariel heard from the hole. She brushed off the draconian's awkwardness and began to go to the hole in the wall when she heard an insane amount of crashing and bashing from the hallway. She really didn't like the sound of that. She wanted OUT, helping people or no, and she changed course for the open window.
With a glance over her shoulder (and past her new, wet wings), she hoisted herself outside. "I really don't think we have much time, get out if you want to live!" She called as she fell the short distance to the ground. Once outside, she finally got to really stretch her wings, and it felt wonderful. |
Ken continued crying untill seeing a green fairy like person. He heard her say “Hey there, little guy. Its alright. Hey…its alright. No need to cry. Hey come on now. Its alright. Come on…what’s your name?”. He noticed she didn't have any clothes and could barely see her face from the glow. He wiped his eyes with his sleeve and noticed alot of his black hair was covering his face, so he brushed it aside and answered back to her. "my- My name is Ken ma'am." He sniffled and looked at the hole and then back at her. "Who- who are you? Whats going on wheres daddy!?" he said in a low but alarming voice.
OOC:Sorry that I didn't post in the last 3 days. Had to take some medicen and it kinda made me go Coo Coo for a long time. |
Michael was rising, he still had his duties to perform, he saw the demon turning back towards him. 'I need a weapon, grappling again is not a good ideal." Michael looked around and spotted a chair, he grabbed it and broke off one of its legs quickly, as he positioned himself in between the demon and the hallway which the angel had retreated down. He threw the rest of the chair at the demon, and brandishing the leg as a stake. When the demon charged he would leap on top of it and drive it into the beast's back.

After making sure the windows were open, I said to Hillery "Make sure that they get out safe." while picking up the fire extinguisher. "I'll try to keep...whatever that thing is out there busy."
That said, I slithered out, and headed to the demon as fast as I could. Rearing up to get some height, I said "Hey buddy! Why don't you chill?" And with that, I let loose with a blast aimed at his face, intending on blinding him with the retardent foam. |
Ariel stretched her wings in the amazingly warm humid air of an incredibly dark night. The temperature is especially surprising considering it was supposed to be winter and less than an hour ago she had been shivering in her unheated classroom. The normal bright ambience of Ashville’s streetlights were mostly absent, the campus’s various lightposts were off as well but the buildings she could see all had lit windows. There were no stars out tonight as she sensed thick clouds roiling in the sky. She heard the dull rumble of thunder but no rain fell yet.
She stood among the hedges that lined violet hall looking out into the small parking lot that served this building and Magruder hall, the large science building directly to the west. To the south was the small road that ran through the middle of campus and across from it was a long row of apartments with the convenient store on the corner. To the north was the medical and career building and beyond it she knew was the quad and the main part of the campus. To the east was the window she stood next to, Violet Hall and the violence within. Beyond Violet hall to the east was dorm row and her own room within Blanchett Hall somewhat more to the north. A human boy groaned at her feet, the only other person here….the others that the snake girl had said she had helped apparently long gone. She could see a few people moving hurriedly among the buildings but that was all. An occasional scream could be heard and the more common sound of gunshots in the distance as well. "my- My name is Ken ma'am." He sniffled and looked at the hole and then back at her. "Who- who are you? Whats going on wheres daddy!?" said the messy haired boy. Hilary was well aware of the sounds of violence getting closer and she had a moment of panic as she looked into the eyes of the child. The eyes were so trusting…the child believing that she would have the answers. What the hell could she do? She was six inches! What right did he have to expect her to save him?! “I…I don’t know where your daddy is! I-” she wailed. Where was her daddy? Hilary thought that she had been dealing with this all very well…as well as anyone could expect her to but seriously this wasn’t fair. SHE was the one that was supposed to be saved not her doing the saving! “Oh Gawd! Someone help!” she shrieked. Cael had watched with astonishment as the girl angel had just got up and left. Hadn’t she heard Hilary? Their was a child in there! How could she just leave? He’d heard the chaos in the hall too but he wasn’t going to just run…thinking only about his own safety. There were still helpless people here! When he heard Hilary’s shriek for help he reacted without thinking. He’d momentarily stopped paying attention to the fairy as he’d stared in open mouthed surprise at the fleeing angel but now the realization that she was alone in a room with a child all by herself came crashing back in. Cael’s claws grasped the sides of the hole and pushed even as he ran forward. The dry wall burst apart as the draconian went through it as if it were paper though his wings did painfully clip the studs. He swiftly took in the room, his body tensed for whatever had caused Hilary’s call. Seeing nothing but the fairy fluttering next to the professor’s desk and a white winged boy staring at him with fear in his eyes, he relaxed. Seeing the look on the angel’s face and realizing how it must look to see a monster like him breaking through a wall, Cael casually raised a hand to his head and caused his body to sway back and forth. In a goofy voice that only half way worked with his new draconic throat, he said, “Owie! Gosh…that smarts…” Rubbing his head, he looked down and could see that the boy wasn’t nearly as frightened as moments before. Cael was used to dealing with his younger cousins and that technique always managed to calm them and make them laugh…it was good to see that even with his new look it somewhat worked. Hilary sighed loudly with relief as Cael came to her rescue. Quickly he stepped forward and coaxed the boy out from under the desk with what he hoped was a reassuring smile. “Hey, buddy. I may look scary but I’m a good guy. We have to get you out of here.” He shepherded the boy back through the hole. A chair bounced off his left horn but the demon merely snarled as continued forward. Namziroath loped forward increasing his speed as he saw the gargoyle step in front of the entrance to the hallway defensively brandishing a metal chair leg. Pathetic wretch…it looked like he hadn’t learned the elf’s lesson. The demon put on a burst of speed as he closed in upon the fool, intending to smash into him before he had a chance to use his make shift weapon. Not that Namziroath was particularly worried by the piece of metal, gargoyles were strong but he doubted they were strong enough to pierce his thick skin with something like that. Moments before the impact, Michael’s tensed muscles went into action sending him meters into the air his wings spreading instinctively to press against the ceiling and walls as they filled with the onrush of wind from the massive demon’s charge. Namziroath twisted as he passed through the spot where the gargoyle had been moments before but before he could flip around Michael’s powerful claws imbedded themselves in the slabs of his back muscles. The demon’s arms struggled to reach his attacker only managing to grab the end of one wing and mangle the tip badly. Only seconds after landing upon the demon, Michael fought to maintain his balance as the vile creature bucked and roiled beneath him. Even as he felt the demon begin to flip over and surely dash Michael into the wall he slammed the metal bar between his feet into Namziroath’s back. He hadn’t been sure he could penetrate with such a blunt weapon but the end had luckily sheared off in a somewhat sharp jagged edge and his adrenaline pumped muscles were seemingly up to the task as he felt a shiver shoot through the demon’s body. Michael had time to notice that half of the bar’s length was buried in its back before he went face first into the wall, his claws losing their purchase from the shock of the impact. He had only seconds before he felt the demon pounce upon him. If the wound was bothering him he wasn’t showing it, though Michael knew it would eventually. Unfortunately, the strike hadn’t been as well placed as the gargoyle had been aiming for but it was still a grievous wound. Michael felt Namziroath’s hot fetid breath upon his neck as the massive demon pinned him to the wall. “Half breed…I’m going to make you pay for that…its going to be long…and its going to be ever so painful. You know what I’m going to get out of you? Your clan’s name. And then I’m going to leave you crippled, dying, and alone with the knowledge at that very moment I’m traveling to the Drakkenwals. In those mountains, I will find each and every pathetic member of your family and visit untold horrors upon their flesh.” With a roar, the demon lifts the gargoyle bodily and sends him crashing down the corridor to land only feet from where Ben crouches in terror, having watched the scene with elation at Michael’s seeming triumph and despair as the demon had his friend helpless against the wall and yet he still hadn’t managed to fight past his fear to help. Namziroath calls out after the gargoyle and Michael thinks he senses pain in the demon’s voice, “For now just know that I’m going to ravage the angel you sought to protect.” The demon, continuing to move on all fours as the hallway’s low ceiling would have him crouching, turns to the first doorway. The door opens swiftly and a naga slides out. The red haired female seems taken back as she comes face to face with Namziroath but true to her kind, she reacts with incredible speed, rearing up she brings the fire extinguisher to bear and lets a full blast in his face even as her body whips back down to lay flat upon her tale. The naga bent completely in half as the demon passed over her not bothering to slow down when she appeared. He did casually slash his claws along her abdomen as he went but otherwise he ignored her. Again her snake like reflexes saved her as she jerked to the side even as her snake half slithered her forward and into the hallway. A gun sits pleasantly a few feet from her. In the classroom, Namziroath stopped to shake his head to clear the foam. He was going to have to teach that snake a lesson but first he needed to find his angel. His sight clearing, he found the vampire and his unconscious prize from earlier directly in front of him. The corpse was only starting to react and Namziroath stood on his back legs and smashed his arm into the vamp. She flew across the room to slam into the wall with such force that a human would have shattered no small amount of bones. Before she could even slide down the wall, a bloody metal bar pierced her shoulder pinning her to the wall with a wet thunk. “Damn! Missed…” said Namziroath with a groan having just ripped the gargoyle’s present out of his back to throw at the vamp. Looking out the window, he saw his angel spreading her wings. He was about to leap forward when….when a fucking dragonborn walked through a hole in the wall with…ANOTHER angel. Namziroath had died! Died and gone to his own perfect afterlife! |
Pain
Adrian lay on the ground, writhing slightly. "We can still feel pain... Damn it that smarts! I though we were dead... "Not alive, but not dead. We stand at the edge of eternity, but we don't enter it. We are in control of what we are and do. Pain is there because you think it should be. Pain is not easily forgotten. Adrian slowly got up, and watched as the demon left. "Can't you give me any help? Are there any secret wraith techniques you forgot to mention? "Can you change what you believe?! Can you believe you are not what you are? Adrian felt the dull throbbing anger through their connection. "You are bound within your mind, until you can release yourself, you can do nothing. There was no way to reply. Adrian wearily glided around the corner towards the Demon. As he came into sight, he rushed at him again. As he fiercely latched onto him, he felt the wraith stir again. "I do not wish to fade away yet. Perhaps, I can aid you, if you listen. Try to extend yourself beyond your body, extend the abyss into your foe. Concentrating, Adrian obeyed, he felt the cold extend farther, reaching through the demons body. He struggled to remain aware of his body. Suddenly Adrian's began to work on its own. "The abyss is here, he heard himself say. Can you accept the final reckoning? |
Ariel didn't like the sound of the gunshots... Why were there guns here? And who was shooting who? And... just how could she deal with this demon thing back in the building?
Maybe, she thought, a test run of these wings is in order. She flapped them a few times, testing them, and began to float slightly. She put more effort into it, and rose into the air. She circled around, feeling some exhilaration at actually flying, flying in the air, as she went higher and higher. Straight up she climbed, until she got to the roof, where she set down gently. The view would have been beautiful up here if it weren't for the fantastic horror. The thunder overhead added to the mood. Ariel did her best to survey the scene. |
Cael stared at the thing in front of him, it was large and very muscular. The thing looked like it craved something, this must have been the thing that made all that noise. A light bulb went off in Cael’s head, a demon that’s what this thing is. Cael then knew what this demon was after, angels. “Hilary get the kid and yourself out of here some how, I will hold this thing down” Cael said, Hilary just nodded and tried to get the kid to follow her. “Well Demon, I don’t know who you are but if you are after this little boy or that angel who just ran her cowardly self out of here then I will stand and fight you.” Cael said while trying to remember back to a few days back when he was playing a table top game with his friends, he tried to remember the weakness of a demon. All he could think of right now was not helpful.
Cael then looked straight in the eyes of the demon, and then his eyes wandered down to the mouth filled to the brim with teeth, Cael wondered what actually kept him here instead of running away like that one angel, he would need to think about that later if he actually lived through this ordeal. Cael then jumped onto the demon, digging his claws deep inside the flesh of the demon, Cael’s mouth opened then clamped down on the demon. |
Zen was confused and scared. And after the fairies shriek for help he heard a crumbleing noise, he turned his head at the hole and was horrified at what he saw, a dragon just burst threw the wall! His thoughts were to run as far as possible but he was paralysed in fear, then the dragon raised his hand looking as to swipe down and kill him then. But instead he put it on his head and rubbed it saying
“Owie! Gosh…that smarts…” His fear slowly went away but he was still scared, then the dragon coaxed him out from under the desk, then made another statement. “Hey, buddy. I may look scary but I’m a good guy. We have to get you out of here.” Ken was still scared and couldn't really speak, he then soon realized that his wings were eight feet long (16 wing span) He tried to move them and he learned how to quickly and folded them on him. As this all happened he heard gun shots, roars and thunderous noises happening but he ignored them as he started to feel safe with the dragon. He fixed his hair up to were it will draped along his back and a little out of his face. He felt the dragon leading him out of the hole, he seen water drops dripping from the ceiling and little puddles on the floor. A drop got on his face and so he wiped it off. |
Ariel can see more of the various lit buildings from her new vantage point but the darkness showed her little else. A few moments pass and a creature buzzes past Ariel’s shoulder. It wasn’t very large, maybe the size of a football. She only got an impression of many legs and a long beak or proboscis before the thing disappeared into the night.
************************************************** ********************** “Hilary get the kid and yourself out of here some how, I will hold this thing down” Cael’s voice broke Hilary out of her frozen state at the horrific creature before her. “Oh! Um…Okay…you don’t have to tell me twice!” she squeaked before fluttering from the dragon-man’s shoulder to the boy behind him. “Come on, Ken! Let’s go jump through that window shall we?” Impatiently, the little fairy grabs his ear and pulls on it, “Come on, Ken! I really think we need to get the hell out of here!” ************************************************** ********************** Namziroath noticed his first angel take wing but it worried him not, he’d hunt her down in time. For now he had another…. Plus one of the dragons’ own servants! The dragonborn spoke, “Well Demon, I don’t know who you are but if you are after this little boy or that angel who just ran her cowardly self out of here then I will stand and fight you.” The demon laughed, “Are you sure you want to? I don’t think mommy and daddy are going to be backing you up, liz-argh!” Namziroath groaned and lurched forward from the wraith’s touch. The specter had put more force into it that time. The magical cold had seeped into his body so fast he’d nearly not responded in time. As it was he could feel his body only sluggishly doing his bidding. Suddenly, he had 250 pounds of angry dragonborn on him furiously digging into his flesh with claws and fang. The claws were only mildly painful as they slashed the muscles of his chest and thighs but the draconian’s powerful jaws were clamped into his neck. That could be bad. Unfortunately, the wraith’s touch had weakened him on top of the gaping wound in his back that was still bleeding. His arms grasped uselessly at the creature, tearing at his wings but doing little to dislodge the little bastard. That fucking wraith was still draining him! Namziroath put on a burst of speed, crashing through desks to slam into the outer wall. Bricks flew as the dazed dragonborn fell to the ground and the demon delivered a vicious kick to the stomach before turning to face the wraith, the small distance he’d put between it and him already returning feeling and strength to his limbs. The misty wraith floated in the center of the room but didn’t seem interested in doing anything else for the moment. Standing next to the ghost was his little vampire, that irrepressible bloody metal bar in her hands. ************************************************** ******** Minutes earlier.... The pain and shock of the metal slamming into her shoulder caused memories to flash through Ariela’s brains. Memories that weren’t her own… FLASH Rain slashed down. The familiar feel of a warm blooded warhorse between her legs. The criss crossing leather of her sword’s hilt digging wetly into her palm. Her sire’s presence in the back of her mind providing reassurance and direction when he sensed her inevitable confusion in this chaotic melee. Clang! The force of the centaur’s halberd vibrating down her blade and into her arm. Having arrested his strike, she lashed out and slid her sword deep into her enemy’s large torso finding the weakness in his armor with precision. FLASH The boy was beautiful. A perfect specimen as one from the Ascendant House’s stock would be. Wearing only a loincloth, his impressive musculature was on display. The golden pallor of his skin practically shouted the vitality of his blood. It was a great honor and Sorsha whispered a prayer of thanks to the Old One as she knelt before the human. He was on his knees as well his head bent to the side offering his life to her. She grabbed his shoulders and bit, drinking deeply. FLASH Sorsha opened her eyes, focusing upon the demon immediately despite the total strangeness of her location. A demon was a formidable enemy, one she’d never faced before as The Old One had a long standing alliance with D’lyrn. Not that that stopped all demons from spreading their havoc into the Houses’ domain. But she had never had the opportunity to test her skills on a demon hunt. But she’d spoke to those who’d had. She could not defeat this demon. Not alone. Not without a better weapon nor armor. Sorsha watched the wraith float into the room and her spirits rose. Depending on the strength of the wight, it might be possible to take the demon down. Her eyes never left the wraith and the demon as she casually grasped the metal spike piercing her shoulder and wrenched it out. She slipped down, her feet meeting the floor as her fingers probed the wound. She grimaced as her touch confirmed her fears. The bones of her shoulder were shattered, she’d have to reset them several times in order to make sure they healed properly. Sorsha brought the jagged end of the bar to her mouth. She sniffed the demon’s blood intermixed with her own and then licked it, savoring the tangy taste and the brief burst of vitality that followed. She strode over to the wraith as her left arm hung uselessly. She felt its magical cold but she’s served with enough of its kind to know its power was useless on her kind. Facing the demon that was only now turning around she asked the wraith, “Are you bound or unbound, wraith?” |
