Photoshop This!

Welcome! This is a contest of your photoshopping muscle!

Concept: Someone posts an image, and you make a photoshop of the posted image, or use recognizeable elements from the posted image in photoshopping another image. The original image's poster then picks a winner and a runner-up, and the winner then posts a picture, starting the cycle over again.

Special Rules:
  1. Given that there is more work to be done on the photshopping, the time limit will be at least 3 days, or 72 hours, from the original image's post date
    1. If that timeframe proves to be too short, then it will be extended.

  2. The photoshops must have recognizeable elements from the original image.
    1. The original image does not need to be the base of the photoshop. The photoshop only needs the recognizeable elements.
    2. If an image is deemed to have no readily recognizeable elements, it is disqualified
    3. Simply typing a caption onto the picture, or cropping part of the picture off and/or typing a caption onto the picture, and leaving it otherwise unchanged will result in disqualification.

  3. The winner has 24 hours to post a new image to be photoshopped to start the next round.
    1. If the winner doesn't post within 24 hours of the contest ending, then the runner-up can post the next image.
    2. If neither winner nor runner-up post within 48 hours of the contest ending, then Fenris or I have the right to post the image.
    3. If noone posts a new image within 72 hours of the contest ending, then anyone may post the next image, first come, first serve.

  4. If noone enters a contest within the 3 day active period, then the person who posted the original image may choose to post a new image, or defer it to Fenris or me.

  5. The image/content posting rules of the forum must be followed. All images posted must be "Safe for Work or School".
An example, if you really need one, can be seen here.

And now, for a few relevent resources you can use.

Want to play, but don't have Photoshop? Well, there's a couple of alternatives in the form of Paint.net and The Gimp.

Imageshack and Photobucket work wonders if you need hosting for an image that's too large.

Turned out a bit small due to the resolution, but I guess that can't be helped.

Well, I suppose Meister wins. By default. Though, it's likely that he would have anyway. I mean, damn.

Seriously, I hate you, and I blame you for scaring everyone away. Bastard.

Anyway, ball's in your court.

Oh hey, I didn't notice this game till now. Great idea! I'm not that good with photoshop, but this is definitely something that shouldn't die. So when Meister posts a new photo, I'll give it a shot. Hopefully more people will too.

All i have to say is: ^ DITTO ^

Meister 07-12-2007 11:31 AM

Actually that was pretty easy.

Anyway, glad to see there's some interest in keeping this going. Mind you, we could move this gig to Off Topic any time, the Yoda Dog seemed to have been well received there.

For now, your assignment is to improve this mallard in any way you think appropriate. Click for high-res.

I think I improved it enough.
