Help on FF9
so yeah i hope its ok to post help threads when you get stuck on a game so...anyways
i hear alot of "OH FF9 SUCKS BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!" i on the other hand love the story line (yeah if you play video games and like a somewhat romantic twist in a story line, PLAY FF9) so back to the help request... i chose to fight Ark on disc 3 (which i hear will come in handy on disc 4) BUT, one small dalema...i cannot figure out how i get Clear Headed Effect (which is pretty much your only hope of defeating Ark...unless everyone is lvl 99) also is it possible to beat the game without hitting lvl 99? |
I'd recommend looking here.
|
yeah i have gone through about 20 walkthroughs on that site and have yet find what triggers this effect.
|
A quick search has led me to believe that you get the Clear Headed ability from the Dark Gear armor...which you either steal from Garland, or buy in the Black Mage Village in disc 4.
...I can't offer much help beyond that...FFIX has been on my "Still Need to Beat" list for a few years now... |
What are you talking about? Ark is a regular boss on disc 3. Getting level 99? >.< I'm confused...
I need to get my FF9 back from my friend. Lemme go look for my strategy guide. Edit: It's very possible to beat the game before 99. I can do so around the mid 60s or 70s. My brother got his main team to 99 (Zidane, Vivi, Steiner, Eiko) and comepletely decimates the final bosses. Edit2: Clearheaded does what? Prevents confusion, I'd guess, but I can't really remember... |
so pretty much, if i did not steal it from Garland, i'm screwed until a higher level is reached?
|
...I believe he meant Hades, not Ark...you beat Hades to be able to summon Ark...
...again, I had to look this up. |
No, Hades is 4th disc. Optional boss. He Synthesizes the Pumice out of two pumice peices to summon Ark.
|
wait so if i already went to the "Forgotten Continent" and saved there, there is now i can go back to Kuja and say "screw that, man"...?

While we do not have any rules against video game advice, we do have rules about proper grammar and punctuation, namely that people use them. This is all spelled out rather well in the Rules Thread which I would recommend that you review. |
