Oh dear, I was going to make my profile earlier this week, but haven't had time until now.
Name: Elerhiya Race: Elemental of Pure Chaos Appearance: Elerhiya's original shape is a formless puddle of chaotic mess. However, because she sort of 'remembers' being in a rhiya-like shape, her vague humanoid shape can take form, despite being unable to (currently) form wings or other stuff. Elerhiya is pure black base colour, with a dull red glow emanating from within her. Her skin and surface is marbled with the hues of chaotic colours. Abilities: Unstable morphology - Rhiya's molecular construction allows her to flow and change shape - hence, she is capable of transforming into different sorts of forms, and forming stuff from herself. However, because of her chaotic instability, the forms are always not quite right, and she can on occasion gain or lose the form's ability at random. Sometimes, she won't even transform at all, and lose/gain abilities as if she did. Elemental Immunity - Elerhiya is immune to a great number of effects chaos has on reality and herself. In fact, chaotic energies have a mostly-positive effect on Elerhiya, whether it being healing her or buffing her in reverse to harming/weakening her. Elemental Weakness - the element of Law is naturally Elerhiya's kryptonite. While there's no effect on her in the presence of such an element, aggressive movements and active usage of Law on Elerhiya harm her, and she tends to avoid those situations as much as she can. ~~ Erm... can't think of anything else to add for the moment... |
...
Oh dear... My puppy platoon can smite chaos, has an aura of law, and turns chaotic beings as other paladins turn undead. Elerhiya is going to hate them. |
I've seen the stats on them in D&D, he's not joking at all. Those things fucking scare me.
Also, dibs not dying. |
Remember all my mutterings about a Massive Plot Twist? Yeah...
So, did I surprise anyone? The impact has most unfortunately been slightly diminished by POS (that scene stealing hack!) using something similar. Here is a convenient evidence pile, again, the impact of which has also unfortunately been reduced by POS (that scene stealing hack!) having an evidence pile for the plot twist. But anyway: "Hail Endbringer!" - Random cultist, to Arhra A thought seemed to occur to her, "You're the first people I've seen here since I took over the job. Why are you here?" she said to Arhra. "The Invisible Moon is coming." "Ah, but why would you...?" The sphinx trailed off, "Bah, I don't care any more." - Sphinx, to Arhra With a slightly distant tone, she repliedy to Lumaes' statement about various incompetencies, "Yes, I have wondered if I'd be better off lending my aid to ushering in the apocalypse than trying to save the world with this lot." - Arhra, on working with the NPFers Oddly, it did not alter her essential chaotic nature. She was far too deeply tied to Chaos for a reversal to hated Law to be possible. However, her current incarnation drained energy and this inversion meant several bad things for her. - Reversewood effects on Arhra "I demand you release the seal so that my companions may face the Herald of the End Times." - Arhra, to the Caryatids "You are one who would bring Chaos." - Caryatids, to Arhra Seeing part of this spectacle despite the poor visibility and most definately hearing it, Arhra spoke to herself, "Crap. They've pissed off the universe." Considering what she was, she winced, then opened an eye, surprised to find it didn't come for her. "Must be afraid of me." she gleefully concluded. - Arhra, after the NPFers discovered many things DO NOT WORK THAT WAY! "Caryatid, listen to me. What these people are trying to do is save this world, and you are impeding their progress. If you kill them here, then this world, along with you, will be destroyed. None shall be spared, regardless of them being on the side of Law or Chaos. The people aren't just doing it for themselves, or for the Forces of Chaos. They're doing for everyone." "You will bring Chaos." the Caryatid repeated with serenity, "The spawn of Chaos leads you and Chaos is all that will come of your actions. Thus you must be unmade." - Flare and the Caryatid of Earth This was obviously universal conspiracy. The forces of Chaos should know better than to backfire on her in such a way. - Arhra's thoughts, Earth Caryatid battle Arhra considered her options as a large train appeared between her and her enemies. Well, they weren't specifically her enemies, except in the way you could say the whole universe was her enemy, but something did need to be done about them. - Arhra's thoughts, fighting the League of Enemies "Used to be cool?" she muttered, "I take exception to that. So what if I haven't had a thousand bloody conquests recently? I've just been resting up, biding my time. I'll show him! We'll see who's laughing when the time comes to face the Herald!" - Arhra, muttering to herself "Besides, we both know if you had been a useless midget that could be done in by a mere rock, you'd have come back as something presumably less useless." Arhra looked slightly embarrassed at this, "Actually, I'd prefer not to have to do that. I had to subdivide my essence to make something possible for the plan... and that isn't easily done. I don't know what exact effect only part of me dying would have..." Lumaes turned his most powerful inquisitive expression on her at this admission. "Talking about the scheme endangers the scheme!" Arhra shouted in answer. - Lumaes and Arhra chatting "Still, we will have to be careful. Even without the final blessing, the Herald is very powerful and very intelligent, possibly more intelligent than any of us. Myself excluded of course. That would be ridiculous." Clearly, Arhra had a high opinion of herself. - Arhra, on the Herald "Ah! Phoenix!" Arhra said, after politely waiting for the end of the villanous monologue. She made some mental notes of the pitfalls to avoid, for when she had to do one of her own. - Arhra, just outside the Water Temple "Wait, aren't you supposed to be comatose?" "There's only one thing I'm supposed to be and no coma's going to stop me. ...Wait... Two things! That second thing is kicking your perfectly formed ass! uh... Tail!" Arhra wished she'd had more time to think that line through. - Arhra and the Dark Mermaid Fight a sexy mermaid (with the distinct possibility of stealing said sexy powers) or help the Skull? If only she could be in three places at the same time! - Arhra's thoughts during the Dark Merman battle "Onwards to victory and glorious destruction--I mean, righteous justice and heroic deeds... and... stuff like that." "Oh, the first one's closer." Arhra said offhandedly to Mauve. - Mauve and Arhra, just after the snowman battle The Sodality commander cut Mauve off, "Your crime is your attacks on the Seven Seals that isolate the Gate of Chaos from the rest of the universe. The Portents Advisory Committee has submitted its preliminary report, indicating that signs of impending apocalypse related to this Gate have been sighted. In destroying the Seals, you are destroying the primary defense against the forces of Chaos that have orchestrated this doom." "However, I believe you already know this. An avatar of Chaos leads you." He pointed his sword at the icy formation across the room that Arhra was hiding behind. A muffled curse could be heard coming from it at this development. "This can easily be construed as conspiracy. Possibly you have been deceived. Regardless, the danger can not be tolerated. If you will not come quietly, we will be forced to subdue you. Make your choice." - Commander Rilan "Arhra," Hydra said, looking concerned. "Why are they saying all this stuff about endangering the universe? What we're doing is right, isn't it?" "Pay them no heed." Arhra said abruptly, "They are simply another obstacle to overcome. I know what I'm doing." She triumphantly procured the rebreather. "And what you should be doing is getting out there and, oh, I don't know, breathing poison gas on those people." - Hydra and Arhra, on uncertainties "Hey! Hey Solidarity Forces!" Phil yelled over the conflict. "I know you guys don't like our plan, but what about this?! The Herald of the End Times is already beyond the seals meant to prevent his arrival at the Chaos Gate! What do you plan to do about that! Leave the seals intact and watch him gain the full power his anarchic masters wait to bestow upon him?!" "It is not my place to decide." Rilan called back. "But what you do hastens it." - Phil and Rilan "I said to myself that I shouldn't get too involved in these battles, that it might risk everything I'm here for coming undone..." she trailed off, eyes distant, before she focused back on the present, a bitter smile on her face. "But these things never work out, now do they?" "I felt we were so lucky when we found you alone, no minions, no blazing solar rays, just water and ice. How unkind of the Sodality to interrupt us. But, as I knew it would be, their truth and reason can not prevail against the NPFers." - Arhra, to the Caryatid of Water "You may think this is the darkest hour for the NPFers!" Arhra declared, "You are wrong! That hour is yet to come! Annhilation comes for us but, here and now, we are still alive! And while that is true, we can continue to blindly throw away our lives! Onwards!" - Arhra's inspirational speech "Afterwards, with the Sodality out of the way, we destroyed the Seal of Water, thus completing another step in my Machiavellian scheme." One: Machiavelian scheme?!" Hawk's expression suddenly changed, indicating he was eyeing the avatar of Chaos suspiciously. "Firstly, of course!" Arhra said. "For my plan is composed equally of deviousness and awesome!" - Arhra's catch-up exposition "I guess the awesomeness of my true form is simply too much for you all to handle. This will have to do." - Arhra, on Henshin "I don't care if you're trudging along, blind to the inherent hopelessness of your situation," her gaze fixed on Mammoth, "Gender switched and crazy," Fenris was next, "recovering from psychiatric treatment," the Glare turned on Phil, who stood innocently out of the way, thinking about summons, "actually being quite helpful," Arhra let her red eyes rove and settle on Hawk, "sensitive about being an emergency food supply," Flare was next in line, Arhra's voice steadily accelerating, "in questionable taste," her eyes flicked behind Flare to fix on Gina, "useless," Hydra, "too quiet," Nikose, "unnecessarily talkative," or you." she said, finishing on Lumaes. "If anyone is going to kill somebody here, it's going to be me! So until then, we can all get on, can't we?" - Arhra, on teamwork Arhra's kill list -Nikose -The Universe -Doors - Arhra's kill list* *There's an error on this list, it should have had Karma too Arhra sighed at the sight, taking no action to assist Nikose whatsoever, "I guess it would never have worked out between us anyway. I'm a living embodiment of Chaos sworn to the service of unmentionable powers and He's a manly man of a bull-man guarding a temple of Law and beating up Nikose! I mean, think of the children!" - Arhra watching the Manotaur beat up Nikose "I mean, my problems kick your problems' asses. I'm suffering a terrible, recurring headache from one of the worst cases of split personalities that can possibly exist and I'm here doing the equivalent of herding cats in order to help do something that's technically impossible!" "Saving the universe is impossible?" Hydra chimed in. "What?" Arhra paused for a moment in puzzlement then burst out, "Haven't you been paying attention to anything I've been saying?!" - Arhra, cheering up Fenris and Mammoth If I could somehow free my mind to work on this, things would be a lot better. Arhra thought. Hmmm... maybe if I split myself... but I don't know if I could do that. Of course you can do it the thought came. You've done it before, haven't you? Well, yes... Arhra's mental commentary temporised But I don't have th- Just focus! Head aching and bullying herself into giving it a try, Arhra focused. She clumsily pulled one arm, webbed with leaden flames, to the nape of her neck. Something flickered there, like a dark and brilliant jewel, and there was a white flash. - Arhra talking to herself "Oh, and did Mauve and the bird survive or not? And is Rhiya dead? I presume that was Rhiya a minute ago... Oh, yeah, and does anyone else see the ghost Arhra? It's a scary thought, her being in two places at once." "To answer your other questions: I don't know; yes, Rhiya's dead (but she'll probably get better); and the idea of me being in two or more places at once is patently absurd." Arhra had considered these answers very carefully. - Phil and Arhra, Fire Temple aftermath "The Sodality is crippled by the very force it serves. Law is in decline, degenerate even now." The Herald continued, "No others bar the NPFers are reacting to the appearance of the Moon... and they do not even understand what they are doing. Our influence may prove enough." The champion of Chaos laughed, "Whatever happens, it will all end in Chaos." - The Herald, being ominious "Why did Rei try to kill me?" "Pshh..." Arhra interrupted, "It's not like people here have never tried to kill each other before. Quit acting like you're so special." She couldn't remember what Flare was talking about. "I could be trying to kill you right now for all you know." Arhra went on. She raised her eyebrows to let the point sink in and then popped another morsel of bacon into her mouth. No attempts on Flare's life were immediately forthcoming. "I could be doing it subtly." Arhra mumbled around the mouthful of food. - Flare and Arhra, having breakfast at Denny's "As fascinating as we find your constant bickering (save for when you're saving each other's lives at which point there are hints of sexual tension)..." Arhra said, interrupting Pedro and Flare. Yes, she went there. "We have a world to save and/or seriously endanger." - Arhra, interrupting Pedro and Flare Hydra looked very thoughtful. "Uh... your big stupid plan is never going to work! Everyone can see it and... and you're stupid!" Arhra's lip trembled, eyes brimming with tears. "Everybody's saying that?" Still dangling by his shell in Hydra's arm, Phil added, "Yeah, and your so-called Machiavellian scheme is so obvious that you make that kid sticking a fork in an outlet look like a dang mastermind!" Not that Phil knew any more about Arhra's scheme than that she had one. He just couldn't pass on an opportunity to insult her if he could get away with it. "Stop it!" Arhra shouted at Phil, clearly upset, "Talking about the scheme endangers the scheme!" - Insults during vampire fight "As I was saying before, it's all going just like I planned it." Arhra continued to tell the NPFers as reassurance against the spookiness of the Shadow Temple's inner catacombs. She enjoyed dramatic irony. - Arhra, 'reassuring' the NPFers "I know you..." "You are one who would bring Chaos. You wait beyond Time... waiting... But you are not her." "In the dark, corruption rising. With infernal Heart, Chaos singing... can you hear her? You are her not her!" "Perish, oh Heartless One..." - parts of the Shadow Caryatd's babbling to Arhra "You are the villain in this story. Did you really think you'd get away with it?" - Sarhras to Arhra "I do not submit to your reality. You will pass away, hurled screaming into the void like all the others who would forestall my will." "This is madness." Sarhras coughed, stalling for time. "True." Arhra said. "Sanity is submission to reality. That is why you are weak. My role is to imagine all different. I am insane to see reality other than how it is. But, reality is a function of perception. Therefore, to perceive reality is to change it. My insanity will be stronger than reality. Thus, being sane, you must submit to my insanity. The end is inescapable." - Arhra monologuing "Very, very soon there will just be one Arhra again. Perfect. Complete. Singular. It's a pity you won't be there to see it." - Arhra to Sarhras "Rejoice! My shadows shall envelop you and in merciful darkness you shall oh so slowly drown. Gently chained in eternal night, staring futilely into the eye of nowhere, you will see the truth." "And you will thank me before you die." "What does a bunch of stupid darkness have to do with truth?!" snarled MT. In the darkness you will have no light to deceive your senses. The lying sound will be smothered in the velvety folds of shadow and your lying flesh will feel only the empty vista of night. All deceptions stripped from you, you will have nothing." "With nothing to comfort you, the ultimate futility of your actions will be revealed. Submit! It is the only way you may save yourselves." - Caryatid of Shadows, to NPFers "I'm the Endbringer, bitch!" - Arhra to Caryatid of Shadows There were other things like Arhra's strange coma dream induced by the kiss of an annoying sexy merman, but those don't reduce down to nice little quotes as easily. I mainly linked that one because Arhra almost ends up making out with herself. You can pretty much skip everything before the good old fashioned section breaking three asterisks. |
Just how far away is the Mecha from where we are?
|
As of right now, Nikose has entered his "Oblivious" state. Arhra, being friends with him (In his mind) can't be evil, so the harbringer and end times and stuff, that's all meaningless to him. Basically, he needs to see Arhra do something bad first, so expect very little from me except random comments, cookies and flirtations.
|
I thought that was his "Innocent" state?
|
Same thing really.

Also, seconding Flare's question on how close we are to Rilian. |
Yeah, sorry Inbred, but that post really doesn't fit the current set up.
At that point Inbred wasn't carrying Arhra and the enemies had already parted to make an open path between the Herald and the NPFers. Arhra's maybe half of the distance to the Herald and slightly to the side of the center of the path and the Herald is slowly walking forwards. Could you please edit it? As for Rilan, he's flying quite some distance away. Sorry about not being clearer about that. He's maybe a third of the distance between the perimeter of the Gate and the center from the center, but could cover that distance fairly quickly if he got free of the swarm. When you have giant robot lasers, why bother getting close?* *Well, aside from the obvious 'To perform giant robot melee!' EDIT: Nikose's "Obliviocent" state perhaps? EDIT-the-second: Battle profile! Link to rating reference is here. Name: Arhra, Herald of the End Times (full power) Class: Beyond Boss Appearance: Arhra, except tall and dramatically long haired (she thought it looked nice). Creepy glowing paleness, red eyed and fully armoured in some unknown bronzy looking metal. The Heart of Chaos is on a medallion at her throat, she holds the Sceptre of Chaos and the Crown is her fancy head ornament. She also has three pairs of wings composed of light, multihued and tending to fade to nothing at the tips. Weapons: The Herald is armed with a triumverate of artifacts; the Heart of Chaos, the Crown of Chaos and the Scepter of Chaos. The Heart is the first bestowed upon the Herald and signifies that they are the champion of Chaos. The Sceptre is a weapon of considerable power, and the Crown is primarily defensive in nature. Abilities: Invulnerable: Empowered by wayward forces from beyond the ordered stars, the Herald is frighteningly resistant to all forms of injury. Elemental Subversion: With the Seals despoiled and destroyed, the elements themselves bow to the rule of Chaos. Using elemental attacks around the Herald is... risky. Final Death: Those slain by the Herald have their souls swallowed by Chaos and cannot be revived in any way, shape or form. They are gone forever. Bane of Law: The Herald is inimical to the powers of Law and beyond the laws of the universe. As such, she can do many things that might otherwise be considered to be impossible. For example, to the Herald unbreakable things aren't. Eternal Renewal: The Herald can not be slain as long as her power endures. Should her physical form be destroyed, she is swiftly reborn in a burst of anarchic energy. Anarch: A being of universal apocalpyse and general scariness, the Herald has a crap-ton of chaotic magic to throw around the place. As I'm sure that profile gets across, the encounter is a Long, Dark Teatime of the Soul. Really though, I stuck in Final Death just to look scary. |

And I hope you can, 'cause it could be funny, having a fearless Phil. |
I could have sworn that the way you stack morale bonuses is by adding them together and subtracting one for each bonus beyond the first.
Which, admittedly, would only mean a 49, but it's funnier to say 58. |
Nope. The only weirdness with morale bonuses is they don't apply to nonintelligent creatures. Though, I guess I could still roll with it, just not to the extreme extent originally intended.
Also, Risus. So much easier than D&D. 4 Summoner, 3 Hobbit, 3 Pseudo-existentialist College Kid. Done. |
I love Risus, but unfortunately not so many people are familiar with it, which is STUPID because the damn PDF is only 6 pages and a large chunk of that is optional rules, examples, and formatting.
Mainly I've been doing OWoD lately. And I looked up the thing with the morale. There's a warforged-only class that treats morale bonuses like the way I said once you reach a certain level. That's what I was thinking of because I normally only ever used my morale boosting spells on the guy in my group who had one. |
Oh, it kinda slipped my mind earlier, but Arhra, are we still on a dusty plain, or are we now on one of those "glass" bridges?
|
Time for Prime Taradox!
|
You know, Avvy seems to have an alarming habit of having at least one person go crazy and attack the others close to the end (like during the second-last or final boss fight).
Observe! Avvy I - Zombie Toastburner courtesy of Rakshasa Avvy II - Dark Merman mind control Avvy III - Uh... might not have happened. To distract you with trivia, did you know this one kicked off the plots of Avvies IV and V, meaning Raiden is indirectly responsible for three apocalypses. Jerk! Avvy IV - You already know this. Avvy V - Flare defending POS for some reason. |

So, Arhra, current geography's still a little fuzzy. Do we still have space to run around, or are we on a bridge?
|
Both. Neither.
There's pure elemental chaos flying around. If the geography isn't fuzzy you should be worried. |
