Gods Under the Bleeding Sun. (SIGN-UP ROLEPLAY)

WARNING: the following post the the backstory for the game. It may be a bit of a read, but it's something you should read before joining.

Once, in a world different from that of Earth, a race of reptilian beasts ruled the world. THese beasts were the first to evolve from the smallest of organisms. They grew, bred, and split into different types, and breeds. Some were red, or green, some were humanoid, or large and lumbering, and some were as small as a newt.

These creatures were dragons.

The humanoid dragons, better known as 'Draco', were the most intelligent, and quick of their race. They quickly became the masters of their world, and they established a world order, giving each race, and breed a place in the society. Eventually, the Draco began to perform experiments on their own kind, trying to create a new race of creatures to rule.

This lead to the creation of Humans, Elves, and Orcs.

After creating the humans, the Draco, and fellow reptiles completed their perfect empire, and were the leaders of this world. They became known by the other mammal races as 'Gods'.
The most famous of these 'gods', was the half-dragon, half-draco, 'Shannakur;. Shannakur was the beginning of a new breed of dragons, which he named 'Dreacon'. Shannakur Was considered one of the greatest gods that ever lived. Shannakur was strong, like his dragon father, and fast, and quick-witted like his Draco Mother. He quickly rose to be king of all that lived on their small world.

Eventually, The sinful humans tried to spread their habitat into the dragon's areas, and some small battles erupted, usually ending in he dragon's favor. The humans weren't a smart as the draco, but they possessed a mechanics' wit. They were able to build weapons capable of bringing down dragons instantly. Shannakur tried to bring peace to the warring races, but the end results weren't what he wished. The dragons had lost the little intelligence that they'd already possessed, and had become savage creatures, and nearly wiped out all the humans, and even a large protion of Draco.

Shannakur Knew that his reign of power would soon end, as both the humans, and their own cousins, the dragons were rampaging throughout the land. Shannakur was the only Dreacon that had ever lived, and didn't want his amazingly balanced sub-species to go to waste. He conducted experiments using his own DNA, to create Another perfect copy of himself, except in colour, and body status. Naming This newborn Dreacon as his son, Shannakur left the great capital citidel, and fled to the outer regions of the world, leaving his son's egg to hatch underground.

Shannakur died peacfully, however, his death was the beginning of the end for the dragons. The humans, who had rapidly

multiplied, and spread, had also conquered the peaceful Elves, and savage orcs. There were attempts to tame the beastly dragons, and draco, but those all ended in vain. Each of the dragon races were pushed to the corners of the world, where what's left of them reside, living like the animals that they once were many, many years ago.
And thus ends the reign, of the gods under the bloody sun.
------------------------
Okay, so here's the game:

Right then. We've got 4 basic races here. Humans, Elves, Orcs, and a few dragons/draco.

Humans: Thre same as they were back in the middle ages. They acn be many things, including warriors, mages, and monks. THey aren't the strongest, but there are a lot of 'em.

Elves: They can't take physical damage as well as humans, but they excel at magic, usually healing, or status magic. Or nature magic. They can also be warriors, but be reasonable with them.

Orcs: Generally stupid, and can do basic chaos magics, but rock at running things down. Give them a few hand weapons, but make sure that they're kinda stupid.

Dragons: These are the large savages that you've come to know and love since Tolkien's reign. PLEASE: Do not go overboard with these guys. And if you are one, they have less intelligence than Orcs. (They usually live in the south.)

Draco: Usually 8 feet tall, with the same proportions as a human. They have more intelligence than the orcs, but they've pretty much gone bakc ot primal insincts. No going overboard with these dudes either. (THey usually reside in the north)

And you are also free to be any other mythcal creature, exceptdemons, like those you see in those lame animes, etc. I loathe demons, unles they've come from hell to invade earth. V_V So please hold off the demons. However, I am totally open to Pheonixs, unicorns, harpies, Succubus, vampires, anything.

So, what's going on right now?
Well, it's been around 100 years since Shannakur died, and the humans are the lords of the world. Making Elves,a nd Orcs their slave, and the like. The elves are planning a revoloution, but the humans don't really like this idea, so the elves are pretty much at a war with the humans. (THe humans are ownign the elves, of course) And the orcs are also pushing against the humans... Well, because they're aggressive. The dragons and draco are usually left alone, but somtimes get caught in a fight.

So, the humans are defending their reign, the dragons are just living life, the orcs are being aggressive,a nd the elves are trying to cause an uprise, which isn't going too well.

And last hting: When you join, I will ask you to fill out this character sheet:

Name:
Age:
Appearance:
Race:
Powers & weapons:
A short Bio:
----

So, I'll get my own character sheet up in a bit, but I've gotta go for a short while. So, I'm thinking that we'll start once we've gotten 5 different characters. (You can join whenever, I suppose)

And for the love of god: USE GRAMMAR!

Can humans fight martially and cast magic? As in a sort of jack-of-all-trades type?

EDIT: Can Dracos use magic, even basic types? And do they have different breath weapons, a la D&D chromatic dragons?

Both good questions. For the first one, I have no problem with that. THat would probably be someting along the lines of a 'mercenary', or 'ranger' type hero. Honestly, there's no problem with that.

And for the dracos, I'm still tyring to get that sorted out. With the magic, and all. I'm thinking that dragons and draco have magic ability, however, I'm still sorting that out. However, the whole breath thing is fine by me. I'll list them here:

Green= Earth powers.
Blue= Blue, cold fire. (These dragons aren't ver vunreble to the cold, compared to the other dragon types)
Red= Regualr orange fire.
Yellow: Thunder Type attacks. (Yellow dragons are very rare.)
Black: Spouts green flames, and noxious gases. (Note: Black dragons are the rarest of dragons, as they are dragons who have gotten global frostbite overtheir body, and thus, cannot feel anytihng that has to do with touch.)

Hopefully this will answer your question. (The reason I'm holding off with teh dragon magic, is that thye've pretty much gone into a backwards evoloution stage, until Shannakur's son returns to the throne, and retores power to the dragons.)

Hopefully that last bit in the brackets will give you a better understanding of what the main goal of the game is. (Don't make a character, and call him SHannakur's son. Just dont. ;D)

All right. I currently have to give up the computer, but I'm certainly interested, and I'll work on a character profile as soon as I get back.

Element_man 02-29-2004 06:47 PM

Alright, sounds good. I'll just get mine out now that I'm on.

Name: Griswoldo

Age: 89

Race: Dreacon. *Coughcough*

Appearance: He's a black dragon, with bright blue eyes, and crystaline clyws, and he has a 6-foot-long tail sporting the same claws. He is aorund 8.5 feet tall.

Powers & weapons: Besides the shredding claws, and tail, 'n' stuff, he breathes green flames, and he can channel his powers through his crystal claws. His main weapon is an oversized Claymore. (A huge-ass scotish two-hander)

A short Bio: If his race didn't clue you in, then go bakc and read the backstory. there were only two Dreacon. Shannakur, and his son. Seeing as how It's my story, I feel that I have the right to choose who I am. Basically, Griswoldo is a black dragon, and thus, has frostbite on his body. He was buried underground for a few years, then hatech, and came up to the surface, jsut when a great blizard was going on, whihc lasted for nearly a month. Griswoldo slept through it, but became a black dragon because of it.
Also, Griswoldo goes into destructive rages every once in a while, due to his dragon blood. He's currently trying to get it to stop, as it is the only thing that he fears. He has no idea tha he is a Dreacon, and of his heritage. He lives in the dragon lands,a nd he thinks he's a draco.

I htink I should also establish some rules about the dreacon:
1: They are intelligent, and it is said that any dragon/draco near one will also regain it's old intelligence that it lost after Shannakur died.
2: They can use magic, but only certain types available to dragons, including a few healing spells, and fire-manipulation. For some reason, they know these automatically, and are capable to re-teach them to anyone intelligent enough to understand. (Which is anyone who is a dragon.)
3: They also have some scientific knowledge.

Now, I'm not trying to make the dreacon cheap, or anything, but it was the only thing that binded the draco and dragons from their fate as savage monsters. THe only way for the last dreacon to give all the dragons their power back enternally, is to re-take the old dragon throne.

Just so you know, if you can change topic names you might want to designate this topic as a sign up, so more people know to come.

OK then.

Name: Ikubane
Age: I'm assuming that Dragons/Draco live longer than humans, so I'll say 65.
Race: Blue Draco
Appearance, Powers, and Skills: Standard blue scales and whatnot, with an exceptionally long tail, and forward swept horns. Somewhat of a dabbler in magic, he has advanced farther in the art than most members of his species. Because of his nature, he is naturally most proficient with cold magic, although he has some knowledge of other elements as well. Being a warrior, his claws and horns are his pride and joy, and he sharpens them regularly. His claws are particularly long, with a wicked barb on the index fingers of both hands, a rare trait that is a symbol of great prowess among his tribe.

Background: He is a rogue warrior, having been cast out of his tribe for killing another brave in a dispute. He now wanders the land as a mercenary, but he works less than money than for pride, seeking to hone his skills until he becomes the perfect warrior, to return triumphant to his home and lead his race against the nearby pack of yellow draco, whom his kin hate bitterly and struggle with for control of the tundra that is their home.

Element_man 02-29-2004 08:01 PM

Alright, your character looks fine, and I'm also okay with his magic, and such.

And thanks for the tip. The title now has a message in huge brackets informiong that it is in fact, a sign up.

NOTE TO OTHER PEOPLE: I don't mind poeple having more than one character. In fact, having 2 characters, one good, and one generally bad is a cool thing. Also, don't just be all the replilian races. Be humans and orcs too. I do't have a problem with someone being a general of a human army, you know.

Forever Zero 02-29-2004 08:08 PM

I might be interested in playing a human general. I'll have a character up either tonight or tomarrow.

Biran 02-29-2004 08:11 PM

I'm interested in being a human general, too. Well, maybe not a general, but someone going in the way of the main good guys.

StormRider 02-29-2004 08:12 PM

So... how many people do you want to sign up before we start this thing?
