Why must they always be so long?
So I saw an article in some gaming magazine (I didn't actually read the article) entitled "In defense of short games" or something like that. And I thought, "Yeah, sometimes I like not having to play forever to finish a game. Especially if that game rocks."
So here are some of my favorite shorter games: Shadow of the Colossus Beyond Good and Evil Anyone else? |
Shinobi (PS2)- it's only long if you keep dying, over and over and over.....
God of War 1 & 2 Devil May Cry 1 & 3 Resident Evil games prior to 4 |
Well I thought god of war 2 was pretty short so thats my pick. (Took me 8 bloody hours but it felt short)
Lord of the rings battle for middle earth 2 And C&C 3 (Command and conquer 3) |
Anything in the Smash Bros series would count.
|
Any 2D Metroid (Hey, they're all about getting to the end the fastest you can)
Kirby's Squak Squad was a 3 hour funfest (Lots of people were arguing this game was short) Uh...I donno any others atm. I don't really complain about the length of a game myself as long as I get enough fun out of it. If its too short, but its fun, I just play it again, lol. |
I second SoTC and GoW and also submit the MGS games. Two and a half hours for MGS2 is my personal best.
Of course, not all short games are so good. Dare I mention Enter the Matrix? *Shudder* |
Compare Star Ocean for the PS2 to any game. You will think all other games are very short.
|
Cave Story ranks at the top for me. And Super Mario Bros 1 and 3.
Actually, most NES games work too. And there was a game for Genesis called Fatal Labyrinth that rocked the house out. |
Fable?
Fable was fun for the time it lasted anyway. |
Legend of Zelda - the Minish Cap was really good, even with its complete lack of legnth. And that was even with that stupid mid-game library "find all the overdue books" game.
