What did you do when you were down?
Well the topic says it mainly.
But just in case you forgot. What did you do when you were feeling depressed? Did you sit on the couch all day eating ice cream or did you slap yourself, call yourself stupid and played halo? |
Sleep. Sleep is good. Along with writing the most insane things down with the weirdest pictures ever. Louis Wain becomes my buddy.
|
Sleepin' always makes me feel better.
Usually I just listen to some good music, play a few bouts with my brother in a game or something. Or I go to the internet and talk. I just usually repress it. << |
Didn't we just have a topic for this? Maybe it filled up, but oh well:
I talk to someone that makes me happy. If this isn't available, I continue to be depressed until time mends the wounds (hours, days, whatever). Edit: Well, slightly different, but still applicable I'd say: http://www.nuklearforums.com/showthread.php?t=22321 |
Well in the case of my medical issues, I tend to disassociate myself from the problem and act as though they don't exist until they're too painful to allow me to eek out any sort of a pathetic half existance. Then I go to the hospital, get fixed, rinse and repeat.

well, I know this sounds really dumb, but I made myself a happybox, which is basically a large box that I covered in wrapping paper and filled it with lots of pretty things that make me happy. Like, stuffed animals, stickers, pictures of me with my friends, favorite CDs, etc.
It usually cheers me up. If that doesn't work, I call up a friend and just chat. why, you feelin sad? |

ah. well, I'm going to take that as a "yes."
you should make a happy box. I think the funnest part of it was wrapping it. I like shiny wrapping paper. It's hello kitty. =3 |
I got outside and get some excersize. Frisbee with a friend works great but so does biking. My bikes gotten be through some fun times in life. Plus, if you have any roads near you that go through a bunch of forrests, not exactly WAY out of town, but rarely traveled yet close to the city. Its a plus if it has a river/creek near it for you to just sit down on the bridge going over it and just think about life/clear your head/watch the turtles/fish whatever you want to do in a peaceful way.

I stare transfixed at the sky and think about how totally small my problems and cares are in the entirity of the universe, and how this stuff won't matter 20 years from now, and it won't even matter 10 years, or 5 years, it probably won't matter longer than a week even when I get right down to it.
And staring at the sky in itself is relaxing. Especially if you watch a sunset. |
