Do they never level up?
 

Woo, I'm actually posting. And I made a topic too. Har har.

But, anyway, I have been wondering for quite some time (and I believe I'm not the only one) why they have never leveled up yet? They may not have killed many foes (one or two, yes?) but still, they must have gained some Quest Experience Points, and with Thief stealing everything in his way, he should have gained a level just from the pickpocketing Exp!

'Tis a grand mystery, is it not? Or maybe Brian just haven't thought about it, which would be weird, since he keeps making Red Mage talk about Exp and leveling 'n stuff...

'Nuff said, yes? Should they have leveled by now, should they not?

i think that this is a pretty valid question, but the other guys don't seem to as they haven't replied. =P

To tell the truth i really don't have enough experience with the RPGs these people play so i can't really answer the question. However, i think that Brian focusses more on the humor than the technicalities of the game.

Some one asked this before, and I'm pretty sure Brian's answer was they leveled as he wanted them to.

Eh, leveling up just isn't very dramatically interesting, so I don't think it matters unless/until their lack of levels affects the plot in some way. In any case, I don't think they would be able to stay at level 1, given that Red Mage is on the team.

there is also the fact of, it would seem drastically out of place in the comic. It is written as if they are living it and as living it you continously become stronger, not instantly.

plus the only indication of leveling up is usually a ding. Maybe just for laughs he will do something like this

RM: I think we just leveled up
BM: So?
RM: So now we are stronger and can use more stills
:bmage: so my hadoken is stronger and does more damage

i dunno, id maybe look for a future joke where red mage thinks they've all leveled, and everyone else just doesnt know what he's talking about

I don't think they've ever actually killed enough to level. Every time they fight something something ridiculous happens and kills it for them. I Think the only two things they've actually killed are a few giants, and maybe Drizz'l.

Yeah, I asked this question a long time ago. Brian said that they are always the exactly the level they need to be. Which means, if they need to be level 15 to beat lich, they are level 15.
