Atomic Robo's First Review

http://comicsand.blogspot.com/2007/0...ic-robo-1.html

Overall I'm pretty happy with it. They got the gist of what we are trying to do, had some really nice things to say about Brian's writing, and while they were fairly "Meh" towards my art I thought that there critique was fair -in fact it was a lot kinder than my own critique on the art for ROBO #1!

I can't complain -this was only the second comic book I'd ever drawn. So I was REALLY struggling to pull it together and was learning as I went. (I still am.) I hope they keep coming back for future issues, as I feel that the art gets stronger each month.

Its sort of funny because the very first book I did was Killer Of Demons #1 and it was okay. Then when I started working on ROBO, Yost (KODs writer) was (jokingly) saying, "Aw, why can't you draw KOD that good?" Then when I came back to KOD a few months ago Clevinger started saying (not joking at all), "Why doesn't ROBO look this good?!"

So the fact that the review says I do a satisfactory (if unamazing) job on the first issue is actually a high compliment as far as I'm concerned. LOL

I wish we could send these people ROBO #6 instead of ROBO #1 . . .

ATOMIC ROBO REVIEW

It is obvious that Brian Clevinger has been doing comics of some type. This is a typical exchange in which the hero, Robo, is battling nazi's. Crisp story telling and a good handle on some humorous dialogue.
This part made me chuckle, since the confrontations between the Light Warriors and his enemies are absolutely atypical.

For some reason I think I will inevitably make some connections between Atomik Lad and Robo, though.

You know what... for a First shot at something never tried before, Briand did ace it...

all the reviews i saw gave this book something of a "9 out of 10"

the art IS very nice (it draws attention to the characters not the background, which can be good here) and the writing is really what i was expecting it to be.

with 5 more books to come, i really think that its the start of something Big

Another review here. Short version: they like it!

Kurosen, Check the other threads before posting. Since you're new here, we'll let it slide. Hope you enjoy your stay on the forums.

To be fair, it is Scott's fault for posting two different reviews in two different threads. We need some modding power in here to correct this.

Damn that Wegener!
