Feudorian Legends: The Crimson Throne Signup and Q&A

Feudorian Legends: The Crimson Throne is a dungeon crawler type of RP. Unite and fight, and possibly betray those who helped you get to the bottom floor because only one can claim the unspeakable powers granted to the one who plants his or her ass on the Crimson Throne.

This tale takes place in the Lands of Feudoria, where one could randomly throw a stick and usually hit a wandering adventurer. Seriously, they're everywhere, the scum-sucking thrillseekers, always looking for the next Dungeon Lord to rear his hideous head for them to remove and then plunder his vast and priceless treasures. Once you hear a rumor of a dungeon that just became active, rest assured that there are already dozens of adventurers scouring that dungeon for riches and fame like pathetic rats scavenging for dead flesh to consume.

However, one dungeon has proven to be quite capable of protecting itself from the army of treasure hunters so far. It turns out that a Dungeon Lord named Balbaroth the Mutant God has built a massive underground tower called the Descent Into Madness. A gateway above ground leads to the top floor of the tower. Many wisemen and fools have ventured inside. The wisemen returned after descending only so deep, realising that they were in over their heads and quiting with the riches that they did find. The fools were clearly butchered by the legions of mutants, animated creations, and rival adventurers who let their greed come before their empathy.

Regardless, of all the riches that have been taken from that dungeon, the ultimate prize still lies untouched on the bottom floor. It is called the Crimson Throne. The most popular myth is that the one who sits upon this throne will have the power to obliterate worlds, have access to riches beyond imagination, own a harem one would never bore with...and those are really only the beginning of what one would gain if they could just reach that throne.

The throne's unfathomable power calls outward to all. Hell, smaller Dungeon Lords that recently surfaced are being completely ignored by the armies of adventurers. And it's likely that even a few of those lords have abandoned their extensive dungeons filled with riches to make their debut in the Descent Into Madness. And you? Will you also give it a try? The Descent Into Madness beckons to all like a siren, and Balbaroth is a tool anyways. Someone's gotta off the hulking abomination and it might as well be you. Just don't forget about the Crimson Throne. After going so deep and defeating such a powerful monstrosity, you should be allowed to take a seat, cool your heels, and instantly become the most powerful being in the universe.

-----

So, there you have it. A popular dungeon that grinds unwary heroes into crimson meatpaste while harboring the most powerful artifact one could find throughout the cosmos. Now let's talk about something other than the dungeon and its ultimate treasure. Like you guys and gals, for example.

Feudoria is pretty open to your minds and whims as far as creating a character is concerned. Everything generally has a fantasy medievil flare, where swords slash, guns fire, and magic explodes...or freezes...or electrocutes. Depends on your elemental preference, I guess.

Every kind of being of every kind of tactical role is represented, from humans and dwarves to merfolk and centaurs to angels and demons. And the Descent Into Madness calls to you regardless of who or what you are.
There are some limitations, however. You are powerful, but not too powerful. Basically, at the start of the adventure, you could deal with a small squad of low-level enemies without serious trouble. Now for the character sheet:

Name: (Your given name.)
Title: (A title given to you by the general populace because of your reputation. For example, Balbaroth's title would be "The Mutant God.")
Age: (How old you are in people years.)
Species / Race: (If you are a black man, then human is your species and black is your race. If you are a green goblin, then goblin is your species and green is your race. I dunno how I can better explain this one.)
Gender: (I put gender instead of sex in order to avoid "Yes, please!" answers. I like to think ahead.)
Weapon(s): (Some people are armed with swords. Some are armed with guns. Some sling harmful magic using sceptors. Some have conditioned their own bodies to be lethal. What about you?)
Powers / Magic: (Remember, nothing over the top. If you're a mage, and even if you're not, this is where you list stuff like certain spells or your level of control over specified elements.)
Equipment: (If it's not a weapon and it's not a part of your body, it's probably equipment.)
Appearance: (Please attach a nekkid photo if you're a hot chick. Do it, I command it from the sky.)
Personality: (You're a douchebag. Go ahead and admit that you're a douchebag.)
Background: (This is basically about your origins and life as an adventurer, and can include why you're risking it all for an attempt at the Crimson Throne. Go 'head, spill your guts out. Ewww, not literally! Man, that was my favorite part of the carpet.)

As always, I'll answer any and all questions. I think a team of six to eight could just about do it.

~PLACEHOLDER PLEASE~

I'm going to build a roguish PC, cowardly, yet cunning in his deployment of the skills and do-dads he posesses.

Mebbe interested. Mebbe. I'll post a thing if I feel like it tonight.

Placeholder. Going to work on a Shamanistic/Healer who thinks themselves to be an Advisor. Just no background coming to me quite yet.

My idea is essentially a timid white mage, who is very dependant on others, but has dark corners of selfishness in her soul that yet want the power promised by the throne.
Name: Hannah Whiteflower
Title: The Doctor Apprentice
Age: 17
Species / Race: Human, white
Gender: female
Weapon(s): Magic, but not much offensively.
Powers / Magic:

Healing: Summons the magic force to mend the body from damage. At the most powerful, it can heal someone as well as a modern day surgeon in seconds, but this leaves her drained, and she must rest for a good hour before attempting to heal minor wounds.

Barrier: She can make a physical and magical force field, which runs on her own stamina, meaning if it is getting hit, she feels the blow to her energy. The larger the field, the quicker she burns out.

Cleanse: Purges evil from a being (if the being is pure evil, it is destroyed/damaged). It works mostly with minor beings of evil, like imps. Minor demons may be hurt or stunned, but not destroyed.

Herb Knowledge: She can make basic medicines out of herbs and fungi.

Equipment: Basic suture and surgery kit, for non-magical healing, various balms and aloes, and medicine.
Appearance: dark shoulder-length hair, dark brown eyes, very white and almost frail looking, somewhat short.
Personality: She is very caring for others, generally wanting to help people.
Background: She works as a healer's assistant, and has learned powerful white magic. She was apprenticed at about 12 in healing the town's sick, and with so many adventurers needing constant care, she's learned a lot in her time and seen a lot of pain and suffering. The tales of some of the wounded have intrigued her, and she longs for some excitement herself, and hearing about this throne has inspired her to try her hand at dungeoneering. She is a little off in her estimates at how hard it will be...

Alrighy-oh, Zilla's in. New addition to the Descent Into Madness: medicinal herbs.

By the way, those who have come before y'all have acquired a small treasure trove...of information, not actual treasure, though the information is valuable in its own right:

The first "floor" of the dungeon is more like a waiting area. There, you'll find the friends and spouses of adventurers, wounded or exhausted adventurers who have wisely chosen to abandon their quest, minstrels, soldiers, merchants, etc...basically, if you forgot to gather something before you enter, you should usually get it here.

To call the Descent Into Madness a tower is okay, but it's not so much composed of floors as it is composed of pocket dimensions. There are various environments with various monsters. In order to leave, just exit through the gateway you entered. In order to advance, you must defeat the "Dimensional Alpha", the strongest monster in the area.

Between each floor is a fully functional town, inhabited by peaceful monsters that speak your language and sell genuinely useful wares and services for free. So, basically, if you need to rest between dimensions or replenish the ammunition of guns, bows, and the charges of magical items, as well as the materials you use.

The first floor of the dungeon isn't actually a part of the dungeon. And you can't be killed there. But the enemies there will fuck you up royally if you don't take it seriously. Basically, in order to limit adventurer casualties, this group of adventuresses have created their own pocket dimension just to keep you from letting your ego get the best of you. They've singlehandedly saved dozens of lives, lives that can keep all those other Dungeon Lords in check, so it's a good idea and is generally appreciated. At least Balbaroth doesn't have a problem with their pocket dimension existing in his tower. You conquer their dimension just like all of Balbaroth's dimensions, by unleashing the bang on the Dimensional Alpha.

Saving a place. I'm thinking a flamboyant swashbucklery sort of dude. Race-wise, I'm thinking a nephilim(half-angel).

Name: Firenze
Title: Elemental Prince of Fire
Age: Actually, just 19.
Species / Race: Fire Elemental
Gender:Sex is still yes please, but he's currently betrothed.
Weapon(s): Despite his father, his father's father, and his unborn son all using weird or enormous swords, Firenze prefers a plain, if gold ornamented, longsword.
Powers / Magic: Controls fire as if it were a dog, and boasts great strength and speed.
Equipment:
The Potionmaster's guide to everything: A magical tome that features information and advice on about every subject, past, present or future.

Everything else:A simple shield and a large backpack to hold his items when not in battle.
Appearance: A charming looking man with short brown hair wearing gold laden leather armor that looks somewhat similar to someone else's you know, except cleaner, neater, and less smelly.
Personality: Calm, collected man with a weird sense of humor and a desire for an escape from the mundane. Very Affluent.
Background: Firenze lost his parents at a young age, although he knows not the true reasons for their deaths, other than that father got very angry with everyone, and later that night he saw a dragon flying around the castle.

The next thing he knew, he was told his dad was dead, and that his mother had gone away for a very long time. He was inconsolable, being left to be taken care of by the Holy Order of the Blade, and his non-magical Uncle Samuel.

But one day, a man who looked just like his father appeared, only his eyes were much more gentle and there was peace in everything he did or said. He took him to a cave, took him within. After a short journey through a myriad of strange rooms full of weapons, then gold, then magic looking items, he took him to see a strange sleeping woman, whose beauty Firenze had to admit ashamedly was greater than his mother's.

The man told him that this woman was very much like his mother, and he should take solace in the fact that no matter what, he still has family in this world, even if she should be under a terrible curse, and left to sleep for many years. Firenze did not know what was wrong with her, but was everso eager to see her again.

The man would return every year to take him to see the woman, whom was called a "Grand Mother" and every year he would bask in her beauty, tell her sleeping form of his life, and once, he even got to lay down with her and her still sleeping form ran her hands through his hair.

One day, Firenze was told that he was too old to be taken to visit the woman any more, that know was a time to be a man, and rely upon himself. Firenze was heartbroken at this news, but very happy to finally reach manhood. He asked if he could ever go see her by himself, and the Man smiled. Yes he said, but it would be a very dangerous venture....

***

Years later, the young Firenze, living a princely life upon his family's wealth and established background with the Holy Order of the Sword, is to be betrothed to a princess of the Water Kingdom, so that a union would be among the opposing elements, which would lead to further unions and create a great peace between the many elements of the world.

Seeing as he has time to kill before the wedding, and a desire for one more thrill before marriage, Firenze goes out in search for adventure, chased by his retainers who wish him to not do anything crazy...

Very quickly, he discovers 2 things going on: A big party in greece between the many gods there with an old friend inviting him to get really drunk, and of a deep cave not too far from the home of his youth.... Struck by memories of a similar cave, Firenze decides to visit it first.

Who knows....

Placing a placeholder in this place as I type up the full bio. For some reason the ideal for this character came to me. A metamorph(race) linguist(bard basically,class)/kinda beast master(secondary class) guy, whose a couple hundred years old. Not a strong fighter or magician, but a master of deceit and trickery.

Name: Revan, he has no real name
Title: Master of the Tongue
Age: He claims not to be over 200 years old but in truth he is 327.
Species: Commonly referred to as a changeling or meta morph.
Race: Well in his natural state he is a a kind of sickly green and red.
Gender: Biologically male (the females are blue), although he has the ability to appear as either.
Weapon(s): Himself, a spiked chain whip, and most importantly his tongue
Powers / Magic: Change self, speak to all creatures, near immunity to poison and toxins.
Equipment: Though he sometimes give the appearance of carrying other weapons, and armor. In reality the chain whip is the only suitable weapon of his, and its technically part of him now.
Appearance: True From: A green sludge with slightly growing red growths, a black chain trailing behind it.
Convential Form: A black male about 6' 5", wearing a green tunic, black underclothes (shirt pants) leather boots, a black leather glove on one hand (normally left), and a black chain wrapped around his right arm (upon close inspection one would see it enters his skin at the wrist). The top of his head is bald, while a thick beard adorns his chin. His ears are slightly pointed causing some to believe he has elf blood in him.
Personality: Inquisitive, deceiving, and most of all charming. Revan always seems interested in what you're interested in, and is able to coerce you into talking about it.
Background: Revan was hatched 327 years ago under the care of an inquisitive Walock, named Van Rae. It was the desire of this warlock to know as much as possible about the magic races of this world, the next, and the one beyond that, the metamorph's were one of the most elusive (due to their ability to change form) of these creatures and so it was impossible for him to catch a live one, instead he stole an egg from their hatching grounds. Immediately after his birth the Van Rae, being the genius he was attached a chain imbibed with powerful magic that could never be broken, and likewise never removed from the changeling's body (the other end being attached to a ring in the tower near his birth place), making Revan his prisoner.

For 2 years Revan was his subject along with the other beast in Van Rae's tower, until Revan realized that he alone could change his structure to produce the necessary organs to speak the various creature's languages. For the next 29 years, Revan studied Van Rae and the other creature's till he had mastered their languages, as Van Rae studied them. Using his linguistic skills Revan organized a mass uprising, that overtook Van Rae, who had never imagined all the beast being able to organize and overtake him. The strongest of the beast broke the other end of the chain (the non-magic ring the chain was attached to) freeing Revan. Revan the appearance of Van Rae, and called himself Rae Van, as he began to travel.

Rae Van traveled from place to place changing appearances when necessary (Six month later for example he was attacked while being mistaken for Van Rae, and seemingly disappeared and re-emerged as the spitting image of a guard, but this caused some to request help from him, so he changed again into a drunk, etc. etc.) the only consistent factor in his appearance was the chain that all of his forms carried the black chain on them in some form (the magic made it so that he could not conceal it in himself, and since all of his 'clothing' was actually part of himself he could not cover it up, rarely did he ever actually have clothing as it tend to rip, fall off, or encumber him as he changed shape). As he interacted with true humans, elves, dwarves and other species his name was mispronounced as Revan continually (short e instead of long a), with many assuming this was his name until he accepted it as such when he was 127. His traveling was fueled by one desire, the desire to learn languages, all of them. After seeing the power it had granted him in the tower, and how the inability to communicate together had until then hindered even the mightiest of those creatures from overcoming Van Rae (for they were all restricted as he was, that is special binding designed to restrict that beast only, not the abilities of the others [for example, dragon bindings were fire proof, but the water nymph's bindings were rust proof but not heat shielded]).

Revan traveled for many years before learning all the known and many unknown languages, some whispers of Revan, Master of the Tongue say he even learned the secret language of the Druids (which is true, but he never publicly admit it for to do so would run risk of angering the druids and other secret societies, that he had infiltrated). There is no public knowledge that Revan is in fact a shape shifter (his fame his only grown in the last 6 years), and instead all think a man (Revan's common form) devoted himself to the study of languages, some claiming to know him when he was young (which is impossible as he was never a human child).

Now the true Revan, the one not seen by the public eye (during the famed Revan's disappearances) roams the lands making alliances with various creatures. As he made his way towards the dungeon he was seen in the company of several creatures (I will post/make up these later if AB approves, before RP starts). Revan ventures into Madness seeking to find himself new allies, and new beasts.

Notes about Revan, his abilities, the chain, and other things.

The genetic make-up of metamorphs is very unique. Cell wise they are a mass of single celled organisms, able to camouflage themselves. They communicate in a form of limited telepathy. The interesting thing about metamorph's is that when these cell's join together they form one conscious entity that thinks with the combined strength to form one thought. So a single metamorph's cell is mindless and thinks only of food (like other single celled organisms) while a mass of them, let's say the size of a man's hand would think more like an animal, and try to rejoin with the main body. a mass the size of a man's torso would have the intelligence of a 14 or 15 year old man, while an entire body of cell's is a genius. Most metamorph's however never reach that size as naturally metamorphs will attempt to sever and then absorb the mass of cell's from one another.

The limited telepathy is what allows changelings to change forms as they can spread out and condense to change sizes, however if the cell's are far enough apart to be considered a gas a vapor or even true liquid (instead of gel like) they can no longer communicate and instead became a bunch of single celled mindless organisms. Metamorph's are essentially immune to poison and toxins as they simply pass the poisons out of the systems and the toxins only infect the cells they were directly in contact with (stabbing with a poison blade would affect only those in the path of the blade, therefore the effect is minimal). However extreme temperatures (hotter than boiling and less then freezing) are extremely dangerous to the metamorph. Extreme heat causes the cell's to be more likely to seperate, and extreme cold affects the metamorph's ability to move, separate, and re-form.

How Metamorphs (and Revan) fight: Due to their shifting nature Metamorph's cannot deal much damage in combat while maintaining larger forms (which is why Revan shifting some mass to form a weapon is ueseless). Revan is able to fight by using his shifting mass to propel the whip around, thereby using it as an ordinary chain whip. Metamorph's dodge most attack's by shifting and condensing their mass to avoid attacks. For example they might absorb their head into their body to avoid decapitation, however if they're not fast enough portion of their mass might be sent flying.

Fighting Metamorphs: As said extreme cold and heat can be deadly, but hacking and slashing is effective as well, although one has to vary their technique slightly. The further inward the attack, the less likely for the metamaorph to be able to dodge. Smashing and blunt weapons are especially effective because they carry a larger portion of mass with them, rather then passing through. As said before the more mass that remains grouped together after the blow the smarter it is, for example splitting a changeling down the middle with a blade would cause you to have to fight two midget's, half as smart as the original fighter, a severed arm might form into a large spider that tries to reconnect (unable to do much fighting on its own) but stepping on that same spider would render it so separated it would be able to think, besides to find food.

The chain: Due to the magical properties of the chain it always seeks the largest mass of cell's that carry Revan's DNA. Revan is able to move around the chain, but for some reason the chain (with the exception of the last link)cannot pass through Revan.

Beastmaster Abilities: Revan cannot actually control any creature, he just convinces them to work with him.
