I want in on this.

I have no abilities in coding, writing, artwork, or anything useful, but I'm with Fifth, I want to at least see on of these things get off the ground.

Are you guys going for a Final Fantasy Tactics fan game, or your own original game?

First of all, were going for an original game, but based off FFT and the the other tatics. I'll make a class list setup soon and we'll tweak it from there.

Also, you mentioned evereyone there, yet not me, the thread creator. I'm insulted.

Edit: Calling me NEWB!!! Meh... I threw the idea out there, as a reference at least.

Editable Class names.

It'd just add another extra touch to truly feeling like you have an army under control.

Of course, all my mages would be renamed, "Spell Bitches," but that's exactly what I want to do in the first place.

Time for an update!!!

Unfortunantly, I've yet to get the class lists going, with school starting tomorrow, and band riding up my ass. I'll list by Friday, I hope.

Anyways, on the story!!! Begin posting ideas and framework for characters, ect.

I'd be willing to do the villians.

Because I already have an idea.

If I may throw in my two cents:

I'd recommend getting the story figured out first. Believe me, it'll be a lot easier to make the game if you know how everything is laid out.

People who are doing the battle system can work that out while the story folks work on the story, but much of the actual game design should wait until a basic story outline (at the very least) is done.

I may also volunteer my work as a composer.

If I had more free time to devote to this I would have definitely helped. I have about 6 or 7 years experience in game design and administration, including world building and scripting (Java/C++ style).

As far as a general storyline goes, it would be neat to see NPF as a country, alongside a world with all the other webcomics out there. A PA country, CAD country, etc etc. The game could begin with a huge invasion of trollers (from 4chan, say) sweeping across Webcomica and annihilating the other countries. NPF, the last stand!

we do have artists here... so concept sketchs of People, monsters and Places are easier..plus, thereARE peopel who do the sprite editing dance... so that's a tad easier

I'll just say I hope this gets off the ground.

I doubt I'll be able to help much since there are those among us (like, everyone) who're much better than me at expressing their wit through text, I can't draw pictures or edit sprites and I know nothing of coding.

Oh, and I'm not much of what you'd call an Ideas Man.
