I couldn't agree more.

Aetheor is going to be more 100% distilled trouble concentrate than he's worth, really.

I still haven't gotten over just how hilarious wearing a master mage as a hat is for a backup plan.

You should send Gem and Freeny to meet a friend of yours at his friend's house to discuss a problem you see developing...

IHateMakingNames 08-29-2007 03:05 PM

Well Dem, Vlad won't be turning anyone. No one in the PC party would be worth turning.

Besides the females, but that would be by accident.

Though he could just mind control him, but PCs are probably a bit extra resistant against it.

Demetrius 08-29-2007 03:08 PM

Not even storyline turning? So do we start off with PvP? I think the paladin being turned into something he despises would be an excellent bit of character development.

PhoenixFlame 08-29-2007 03:10 PM

Gem, Freeny, and Vlad should be able to subdue him. If that doesn't work, you can wait for Asidhara. It's not like you have to turn/control him right away.

Besides, there's no way anyone's mind is going to resist glamour, illusion, and mind domination all at once. Especially not if the Kender does the cute-face aswell.

EDIT: Since this storyline should have taken place 2 posts ago, proceed with it... Reverse Time No-Jutsu!

Demetrius 08-29-2007 03:29 PM

I'm going to the fair shortly, but you guys can feel free to use Freeny to get what you need out of him. Remember, he isn't that stupid, just fairly pure hearted and gullible.

IHateMakingNames 08-29-2007 03:31 PM

Well, I said resist, not immune.

I fully planned on being able to, at worst, heavily influence a PC. No one is mental damage/psionic resistant race, and I figured only the mages would have any sort of real resistance to Domination.

The problem with that, along with IHMN's reluctance, is the fact that Vampire turning, aside from the ones that happen post-sexing by accident, has to be approved by the requisite tribunal, lest we not only turn him into a conflicted vampire, but a conflicted vampire that other vampires feel the need to hunt for and exterminate.

Dagan wouldn't want anyone else to suffer through the blood year or whatever of werewolf-hood, so unless Dagan wolfs out during battle and Aetheor uses that opportunity to rid the world of one piece of filth, resulting in a PC v. PC draw with both sides scratched up but living...but even then we'd have to deal with a RP-year of subduing the former pally whenever he let his condition get the best of him.

Also, Funka's 50-merc squad really made me wish I had tried to get the 15 Point Connection concept off the ground...he'd be like Xerxes, with people forming steps for him and everything!

(P.S.: Thanks for naming your battle plan "Serpent swallows the head". Regardless of whether our slang gets transferred over into this vernacular, I probably won't be able to escape the imagery of a boa going down on a guy.)

Edit - After looking at Conditions, apparently only feeding is an almost impossible chance to turn. Sex and blood transfers are almost guaranteed.

Not approved, because that strict of laws are impossible to enforce on a worldly scale, but vampire Enforcers are regularly sent to vampire dens to check who is there, and to make sure said vampires aren't turning people all willy nilly.

And also, vampires have more ego than humans. Being turned is an honor (Or they can use you to their advantage), so Vlad isn't going to give some wildly religious zealot that gift. Plus when a vampire turns some one, they are adding them into their family, which Vlad doesn't want.

Ha, I missed that. Good stuff.

I'm starting to wonder... if a doppleganger transformed into a vampire, if biting them would have the same effect as a normal vamp turning someone. Since it is stated that dopplegangers don't need to eat. If so this would give me some wonderful ideas.

Any permission for Tharex to off a merc and disguise itself as one? Sure beats staying out of the battle.
