What FPS can beat Halo 3?

Ok, to start, I am not a fanboy of the PS3 or the 360. However, I am a fanboy of Metal Gear Solid, so I'm getting a PS3 this Christams, so I'll probably be getting games like Haze and Unreal Tournament, as well as Killzone 2, so I was wondering if anyone thinks that these games are capable of being better than Halo 3. I know that naturally Halo 3 will outsell these games maybe by 3 to 1, but is that due to it's greatness or hype? I downloaded a demo of the original Halo yesterday and so far it's been great fun, but are the sequels going to be better?

What about Graphics? Does a game like Killzone, with the extra space granted by the Blu-Ray disc, win solely because it'll look better?

Of course, I don't want this to degenerate into a fanboy frenzy of "PS3 rules 360 drools", so don't post unless it's going to be a judged and neutral decision.

Cheers!

I'm going to degenerate this into a FPS on consoles sucks ass due to the inability of the given controller to match up to the precision and speed of a mouse/keyboard combo. The games are slower, use more computer corrections and due to who buys consoles actually manage to have more 12 year olds playing online than CS.

In a perfect world, I think Bioshock would beat Halo 3. However, since Halo 3 is a sequel of two very popular games, I think this might be the biggest game launch ever, and will be enormously more succesful than any other game in the near future will be.

You really should dump both the 360 and PS3 and buy Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

It comes out tomorrow, woohoo!!!

True, Metroid is gonna be a good game, no doubts about it, but I'm fairly sure that MGS4 isn't gonna be transferred onto the Wii. It's a hunch, but I think I may be right.

As for PC gamers, well, I have to say that Crysis is one of the best lookin' games I have ever seen, but I find it easier to play FPS games on a console. Personally, I think that it's harder when you have to blindly press one key out of around 40 instead of about 12 as well as knowing exactly what each one does, i mean, it's easier to move an analogue stick instead of using W,A,S and D, and using a shoulder button to crouch, in my opinion. Still, each to his own, I guess.

<Edit>, and yes, I think that Bioshock would beat Halo 3 aswell, in the graphics, atmosphere and campaign department, but remember the awesome capabilities of Halo online, it's main selling point. It's a bit much to make a movie of it though, even if the big PJ is directing. LOTR rocks! A good video Game movie would be Hitman or maybe Killzone or Final Fantasy. Well, a decent Final Fantasy one anyways, Advent Children excluded

I'm far better with a dual-analog controller than I am with a mouse/keyboard.

FPS that can beat Halo 3?
Pick any.
ANY.

A FPS is a FPS. What made Halo so awesome to so many people was the multiplayer, and guess what? Even the crappiest games out there are sextacular with multiplayer, because we love the multiplayer aspect of it all.

Halo has a couple of things going for it. Fantastic multiplay, a cool story and single play, and a terrific sense of balance. I'm excited for Halo 3, but really I'm not expecting anything ground-breaking.

Bioshock already broke several of my expectations by including levels of customization that I still can't get over.

I've always thought Half-Life and Half-Life 2 were the real "super FPS games". Both times Half-Life games have come out there's been several things in it that is completely ground breaking.

However, games like Gears of War, the Unreals, Doom, and the Quakes are equally fun even though they really don't include much earthshaking material (Except the cover system, but adding Gears to this list is tentative right now anyway.).

I dunno. What game can beat Halo? Pretty much any of them if all you're looking for is a more unique playing experience. To me Halo is all about being the perfect FPS - Nothing wrong with it. Nothing. If you're looking for something unique you're trying to find something that ain't there.

Timesplitters entertained me more so than Halo did.
But I'm a major fan of the map editer. I spent hours in that thing...

On Hype? No FPS can beat halo right now...

On Quality?

Well...

Call of Duty 4, Advanced Warfighter 2, Bioshock, Metroid Prime 3, Resistance, Gears of War (Does it count as FPS or 3rdPS? ), FEAR and quite a few others i would say...

Halo is not a very good game... its jsut over hyped with a nice Multiplayer...

Like many Played Counter Strike but not so many played Half Life... someimtes good games are not the ones that sold the most
