Does anyone else get tired of BM?
 

Because I am very tired of him. Sure he has a zinger every once in a while, but those seem to be few and far between. Mostly, all he's got going for him is the genocide humour, and you can only obliterate Dwarfland so many times before it starts getting tired. Fighter has stupid humour which I find funny, Thief has witty humour which I find very funny. RM tends to switch between witticisms and stupidity, both of which are funny with him. But BM, I dunno, all he does is make me hate him, which isn't funny at all. I don't see why everyone thinks he's so hilarious, like I said: other than a few zingers, he's got nothing but violence, which is getting real old REAL quick in my books.

Anyone else share my point of view? That being that BM isn't hilarious at all, and is rather just sad, violent, perverted little monster.

I'm going to assume from your join date that you've read all of the comics and have figured out that BM is a servant of all that is evil, who is seeking to destroy everything. With that knowledge why would you expect him to be funny? The humor derived from him is how he is constantly foiled (heh, pun) by the rest of the group. So no, I enjoy BM, he is all of the dark desires realized with no world ending consequences, yet.

Yes I have read all the comics. Yes I know he is the nexus of all that is evil. But what I don't understand is why everyone (or, according to the "Fave Character" poll 50% of everyone) thinks he's so goddamn funny. When it's increasingly self-evident that's he a lying, perverse, nasty little bastard.

The poll is who is their favorite, not who's the funniest. Yes, he's all of those things and he isn't ashamed of it. As I said, that is why I like him.

Man, the comic is meant to have very one-dimensional characters. You're missing the humour if you have a problem with that.

Look almost everyone here Love/loaths black mage for

• he knows everyone is Stupid
• he is socially inept
• he gets beat up by White mage
• and somewhere deep inside all of us we all want to destroy the world

that plus the story is mainly fallowing BM and fighter so that makes him a main character

I know the comic is meant to be funny. And most times, it is very funny. But I just don't find a sad, sad little megalomaniac to be very amusing.

There's also be the way that the whole universe is out to get him. This could be what makes him so hideously evil, and hilarious.

Personally, I find BM funny because everything he does fails.

Hey, wasn't there already a thread very similar to this one? I mean, this thread isn't the exact same, but I get the feeling that some arguments in this one may end up sounding a lot like the ones in there.
