The true Wonders of Wikipedia

Ok... so i got into some digging today... just for kicks...

And really... i know im browsing the web at work, but some people just need to get a life....

List of Snowclones

the Lolcat Vs Caturday Debate

IMPACT (The Font... not the subject) and a DISCUSSION about it

It's not hard AT ALL for me to actually go on...

42PETUNIAS 09-04-2007 11:15 AM

Wikipedia wouldn't be wikipedia if it didn't have way more information than necessary. I salute you, really bored people who make it possible!

Zilla 09-04-2007 04:32 PM

I agree, and the people with no life make life interesting.

I want to stock up for the next nerdy debate I find myself dragged into with random facts about Impact vs Helvetica.

RaiRai 09-05-2007 12:54 PM

I love Wikipedia. I like that you can need information on something very obscure, something that may interest only you and thus none of the regular people you talk to know about it; and Wiki generally has something about it.

What I don't like, however, are those people who live by Wikipedia. Because obviously if it's written on a user-based information site, it has to be true.

Yes indeed... without Wikipedia i woudl never know what the hell Ero-Guro is ...

....Y'know what..? NOBODY shows this Link to DFM ok?... really......

Zilla 09-05-2007 07:21 PM

Another thing I love about Wikipedia, I clicked that link, and suddenly I'm reading about Harajuku Girls and wondering why the hell this classifies as a Japanese cultural phenominon. And that's actually pretty related. I'm suprised in this short period of time it hadn't jumped to stem-cells.

You haven't lived until you've seen a crying prepubescent boy hung from the ceiling by barbed wire wrapped around his penis.

Long-Haired Narcissist 09-05-2007 10:51 PM

This and this. Do I need to say more?

Moor 09-05-2007 10:55 PM

Thanks to that euro... guro.. link thing, I have now learned that "cunnilingus"(wiki it...) is also referred to as "picking the daises". Who knew?

I also managed to find techniques on it... from wiki. You really can find everything on there can't you.

DFM 09-05-2007 11:30 PM

Even honest information on the myth of the holocaust and the Zionist Conspiracy that fuels it!

Wait... there are people out there in the world that actually believe the holocaust didn't happen? That it's a conspiracy!? What... how? why!?

Zilla 09-06-2007 04:12 PM

Have you ever met someone who died in the Holocaust?

DFM 09-07-2007 12:37 AM

And would Israel even be a country today if not for the slander and libel thrown against the Nazi party by the Zionist pigs in WWII? Who really benefited from this so called Holohoax in the long run?

Points to ponder, Moor. Points to ponder.

Responding to your questions in order:

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. By making shit up and lying
4. Because they're crazy racists.

Nayno 09-07-2007 12:45 AM

It's easy! If you prefer "lolcat", then you hate channers. If you prefer "caturday", then you hate wiki editors.

Krylo 09-07-2007 01:08 AM

Well, after reading the discussion it seems that the channers are unequivocably correct in their assertation that Caturday is the original and comes from 4Chan. 'Cause, like, the channers provided a LOT of evidence. It just so happened to be evidence that the wiki-mods deemed inadmissable. The wiki-mods only seemed to be capable of repeating the same "It's not a valid source" over and over, with no real grounds to argue from that Lolcat is the original.

So, really it's more like, if you prefer unbiased and honest reporting in your wikis you should probably hate wiki-mods.

Also: I generally find lolcat more annoying, 'cause it's internet slangese, while Caturday is just a relatively non-clever play on day names.

I went to college with a girl who lost a loved one in the attack, and I doubt that she was saying it just to get attention.

Oh, and Caturday is better than lolcats. Caturday is at least a play on real words, while lolcat...well, let's just say that every time I read "lolcat," I feel like I'm losing IQ points.

As for the Holocaust deniers, I wonder where they think the millions of Jews, Romani, Homosexuals, POWs, disabled, mentally ill, Freemasons, Jehovah's Witnesses, and political prisoners went if they weren't killed under Hitler's regime. Maybe they all vanished in this area. Or maybe they all escaped to South America with this guy.

They were all sent to the Nazi base on the moon..
Sheesh, you guys need to take a history class.

Way to harsh our child torture and holocaust denial offtopic buzz LC. Besides it was all just a trick for them to retreat underground and begin breeding with the deep ones in order to doom us all.

No I mean, I totally hate wiki-editors, just as I totally hate channers, it's just a matter of deciding which ones I more totally hate.

'Twas interesting. Appearently its a popular article to edit. In one revision, Some guy named Randel headed the Persian Army.
