No. It's digustingly disrepectful, and offensive. Not to mention hypocrytical (I snuck a quick look at the forums) how do you expect people to respect your views, when you don't respect theirs, religious or not? This is ridiculous. Give me a break. Just another whiny-christian-hating-loser with nothing better to do... and pretentious to boot. Don't we just love elitism?

By the way, the game is a joke. That was obvious from page ONE. And its a morbid one... He isn't just making fun of religion, but he is stricking the very core of many people's religious views without any regard for the generally accepted qualities of "respect" and "dignity". The joke doesn't even make a well-defined statement, and has no value whatsoever. This is highly offensive, and I would not be upset in the slightest if this thread was locked or deleted. I did read the FAQ and rules here, and Im pretty sure that posting offensive material was listed as a no-no. I'm not a mod or anything here, so I apologize for sounding pretentious in that way, but I ask, please, for a deletion of this... although I don't supose that'll fly, depedning on how much of this kind of thing the mods tolerate... Well, whatever happens, happens... This isn't THAT big of a deal, so I won't fight a decision made either way, in any way.

BTW, before anyone says anything about comparing this to Brian's comic-before-last, just note that the comic was done in jest (It would seem) of the movie made by mel gibson (read: Not by God) and the dialog in the rant was humorous, without being disrepectful.

For the most part Nique, I totally agree, though I don't think the Mods should lock or delete this post. On one hand, your right by saying it is offensive, but aren't most things. I'd be interested in hearing people's responses to all this. Of course its gonna piss people off, that's why (yes, I am assuming) the person who created that whole skit probably did so in the first place. I did see humor in it, but I agree it was in rather poor taste. At most, I don't believe this post belongs in the gamer's board area. Maybe it should be put into general, though I can see why he put it here.

It wouldn't be much of a message board if everytime someone saw something that offended them, they got it removed. though I would ask the mods to move this thread to general or discussion boards.

Lighten up. I don't mind when people make fun of my religion, although then again my religion is third biggest religious joke in history (next to Waurism and the Cult of the Sub-Genius, although slightly, I'm affraid, outstriping the cult of cod). But before the mods close this (which they will if it turns into a religious discussion), I thought I'd throw in my too bits: to parody, nothing is sacred. and if God(ess, or whatever else you want to call it) doesn't have a sense of humor, we're all screwed.

I'm interested too... But I tend to get upset over religious debates (not disscussions) easily. So asking for a lock was more for my benefit :thief: then anyone else's ^_^() I see the humor, but I didn't laugh. There are just certain things you shouldn't reference so obscenely. I also asked for it to be moved to general, if the mods decided not to lock it as I requested, so my bases are all covered. ^_-

I will not lighten up. I don't mind poking fun at relgion. If this guy was just dogging the catholics (or whatever other church) for whatever reason, or pointing out how the chruch in germany just about supported Adolf Hitler, then it would be more admisable. He targets were, however, not stupid actions/people alone, but, as I said, the very core of a large majority of people's belifes. So his attack seemed to be on; Not just doctrine. Not just people... But the very deity which they worship, along with the savior they belive in. Offensive, without a point, pure and simple.

God may have a sense of humor, but a line must be drawn at some point, and I don't imagined he'd go for a joke at his expense, coming from someone who disrespects every fiber of people's faith in him.

Obviously you take religion pretty seriously, so I can see why your offended and you do have a right to your opinion and so does he. My best suggestion is to not squabble over the fact that someone has done what they have already done. It's called fuel for the fire, and your supplying it. This is the kind of response and controversy the guy who created this wanted, don't do him a favor of giving it to him. No offense, of course.

I don't think my response was quite what the guy was going for, although controversy which could errupt from my response, may very well be.

Judging from what I briefly saw, I'm thinking he wants fanatical christians to flame him so he can belittle their faith, via pointless insults. In fact, I'm pretty sure he uses THIS to create responses. ( :bmage: ok, that was kind of humoresly beligerant, but really now... :bmage: )

I'll not flame him, nor anyone, as my faith is not based on fanatisism, but logic. I don't even want to talk to the guy. My point was just that this is disrepectful dribble aimed at anyone who belives in the Judeo/christian God, and even people who do not should be offended that someone would be so rude towards anyone's belifes. You don't need faith in God to have good manners. (Also, its not as if I posted the link and said "OMG! G0 fl4me teh l0$er! G0D R0x0rz mah B0X0rz! lol omg!!!1!" )

In anycase, thats pretty much all I have to say about it. Thusfar, I don't think any of the conversation here has sunk to level that guy wants it too. and I applude that, as it is much to the NPF's and its' members credit.

Right... anyway: I have to admit I generally find stuff poking fun at religion pretty funny, but this wasn't carried out in a very humorous way. It's just belligerent, and, although I get a chuckle out of the general idea, not very well executed.

I also second Nique in the closing of this thread. It's already passed over the line into religious discussion... so I'm going to go report the first post here. And the reason we don't allow religious discussions is because it always turns into mud slinging and "I'm right!" "No I'm right!" and eventually people become offended. In the mean time, I suggest no one else continues to post here.
