The Quest for the Final Summoning, Ch. 8
 

Chapter 8: Berth in Baaj

The next morning, Raine and her summoners were out the door and on the boat leaving for Baaj. Raine's mother came with them to see them off, Raine hugged her mother tightly before walking up the plank to the boat. As the boat took off, Raine stood at the back of the boat, watching her island... her home start to disappear into the horizon... the last time she would see it.

(OOC: this boat ride won't be too long, so if there's anything you want to do on the boat, go ahead and do it while you can. ^^; )

Brian nervously came and walked up to Raine, he never was good with talking to other people, hoping her summoners wouldn't get protective suddenly, becasue he had a question to ask.
"Err... Lady Summoner? I was just wondering if, err, I would be able to... come with you on your pilgramidge (is that how you spell it?)?" Quickly he added, "Not as a guardian, but just... just a... I don't know how to explain it, but I want to see the world, and you're travelling it, so I just wanted to come along..."

Dezil had gotten a good night's sleep, but had been troubled by the incidents so far. He looked at this new man, and after watching him for a few seconds, his eyes narrowed and he said, "Don't I recognize you? I seem to remember you from somewhere recently..."

Brian turned around and grinned sheepishly. "Well... I've kinda been just following you guys, just checking out the sites... so you probably do recognize me."

Dezil kept an eye on him, but didn't say anything else, leaveing this one to Raine.

Raine smiled at the newcomer, "We would be happy to have you come with us, but I'm warning you, it won't be an easy road. We seem to be targeted by certain Al Bhed." She looked at him, "So if you are willing to face the dangers, then you are welcome to come along."

"You would most likey be a target next time, whether you are a guardian or not, and this Al-Bhed most definitly means buisness." Dezil said. He wasn't sure what to think about this new guy, and was mildly suspicious, but he didn't have anything against him either so he was mostly just trying to gauge this newcomer.

Brian bowed respectively and said, "Thank you, Lady Summoner." He turned to Dezil. "I realize that I'll probably be a target, but I can take care of my self, or else I wouldn't have even left Besaid because of Sin and its spawn."

Drake stepped into the conversation. His left arm was completely healed, and he was in a very cheerful mood. He saw Brian, and remembered him from the first temple they visited as the morpher.

"Hey, Brian! How's it going? You're gonna join our pilgrimage?" Drake cheefully said.

"Well, yes, sort of. I'm not coming as a guardian, just a person who tags along." Brian looked out toward the sea. "Baaj next, right? I've heard a lot about that place."
