Biran 03-08-2004 06:45 PM

"Sounds to me like some evil summoner or something just got a new Aeon and isn't using it wisely. Then again, that's just me."

Squishy Cheeks 03-08-2004 07:06 PM

"They effectively just murdered this town. They may not have killed the people, but with out the Fayth and the Aeon Sin will destroy this place no problem."

Darth SS 03-08-2004 07:07 PM

OOC: Jad? You're in the temple. As me and Biran are not guardians, we do not know that. We're working off of assumptions right now

Mr. Viewtiful 03-08-2004 09:03 PM

[OOC:] And Drake is outside with Brian and Uran to assist in crowd control, as well, although he is a guardian [/OOC]

Truce 03-08-2004 11:02 PM

ooc-Nope, I'm pretty sure the thief didn't have a name, hell Yojimbo itself hadn't been remembered as far as I can remember.

ooc-The loss of the fayth would not mean the death of the village. The fayth are not what protect the village, nor is it the aeon. It is the Summoners that utilize their power and (at some point in time) the crusaders who vow to fight Sin.

ooc-However, it could mean the abandoning of the village. I will say that.

ooc-Besides, if Sin did attack, it would destroy Baaj no problem, with or without the temple and its fayth being there. Sin is not that easy to defeat, afterall.

Squishy Cheeks 03-09-2004 01:43 AM

ooc: In ffx you never see or here about a place that doesn't have something worth protecting.

Besaid: Valefor's temple
Kilika: Ifrit's temple
Luca: Blitzball
Guadosalem: The far plane
Bevelle: Bahamut's temple
Gagazet: the road to Zanarkand.

The reason for this is cause everywhere else gets destroyed. Temples have Warrior monks and crusaders. Luca has the bulk of the crfusaders, guadosalem has the fiend summoners of the guado, and gagazet has the ronso. Without Yojimbo the temple is useless. So the only thing worth protecting in Baaj is gone. Next time Sin visits there won't be anybody there to even try to drive him off.

Tenjin Matsukaru 03-09-2004 02:01 AM

Argoth shook his head "well that looks to be a most clever ruse. I just prefer to hide beneath this here cloak and shy away from those who ask too many questions"

Truce 03-09-2004 03:44 AM

ooc-Jad, you just confirmed what I said. I told you that the village won't get destroyed while the people were there, most likely abandoned then destroyed. If people still lived there Crusaders and others would still try to protect the area. Remember, the people on the boat tried to get Sin away from Kilika because it was their home, not because of the temple there. The main driving force behind the Crusaders and the others (as I see it) are their homes and the people they love, which would probably take the priority in most situations. The Fayth and the Aeons are merely tools to be used to aid in that mission, and what would be the point of a can opener without the can it is to open?

ooc-What your character said was that without the Fayth and the Aeon Sin would destroy that place no problem. I now understand what you meant by that, but if I had no knowledge about Spira at all I would take it (based of Mitsu's statement) that the Fayth and the Aeons are what actually protect the village. You see?

ooc-Also, the main reason why you don't go to anywhere unimportant is because of the storyline. Honestly, why would you go there in the first place? A Summoner isn't supposed to go around, mulling about. Though they may want to slow others down they more importantly want to bring about the calm, as swiftly as possible. The only reason they would go elsewhere would probably be to visit the home of a friend, but we all know that Yuna lived in Besaid.

ooc-The last thing is that I've never heard it stated that the places with temples or otherwise something else to protect were the only things there. On this issue I am not sure of, I'll admit it, but I can't remember hearing such a thing at all.

Simple Blitzball teams are the way to tell if a place is important. All the places that are populated, and are not just military/religious centers have blitzball teams.

*OOC: But Baaj didn't get destroyed, it was still around in FFX, albeit a lot decayed and decrepit, but certainly not destroyed. Plus, does Sin just attack for no reason, would he just be floating around, see this place, then attack? Not really. Ecurt is right, the place will get abandoned, not destroyed, and we have evidence of that (FFX, Baaj is still there)*

"Well, at least its a good thing Ripel went ahead to Luca. I'd hate to have him see that the plan was taken down notch..."

(OOC: You can ask him about the plan...although I think the only people that can hear is Argoth, unless Uran, Drake, and Brian are near him)
