Radiance (sign up)
-Fusion power, the anitmatter reactor, and promising studies into warp technology. All milestones in the development of the human race in the 25th century, A.D. All inscriptions on the headstone of the planet that spawned it. The great war came, and the earth died.
-And so, like ripples in a pond, Humanity, having been cut loose from the umbilical cord of mother earth, sprung out into the galaxy in all directions, growing and yet still separating themselves by the nations and creeds they once held alligience to. By the beginnning of the 26th century, Humanity had radiated far from their point of origin, colonizing, mining, and developing. The race now numbered in the tens of billions. At one point or another, each of the individual "states" came in contact with the advanced and benevolent Taleri. -The Taleri are a very advanced, if enigmatic species. They speak little of their origins, and generally just like to get along with those they meet, as though they wish to leave something long gone behind them. They have taken very well to humans in general, loving the energy and lucidity of the species, and their eagerness to learn. And it is lucky that they have... -Near the end of the year 2645, A single surviving transport from the Neo-British outpost colony of Omicron-6 returned with a mere 20 survivors of its formerly 300 person contingent. Omicron-6 was located outside of the known borders of human space, though the Taleri had a mysterious and strangely ashamed air of knowledge about the areas closer to the center of the Milky way. Only within those following months, did they understand how much they should have told. Any known and lightly fortified outposts close to the edges of the Human and Taleri realms began falling rapidly to a vicious, malignant race of aliens that has become known as the Gurz. What little is known of them is that they aren't remotely humanoid, they have no known technology. How they move through space remained a mystery until an unnamed Teleri began spouting off reams of data, though he didn't say how he got it. Now the threat looms. To combat the threat, the human nations and the Teleri have bound themselves into the Kharat Systems Federation (Kharat is the Teleri word for "Home") Intelligence shows that their numbers are great, and a battle for the birthright of the Federation formed to combat them, has begun. Playable races: Human- Take a good, long look at yourself. One addition: Over the hundreds of years traveling, humanity has somehow experienced an evolutionary hop up the ladder. We are beginning to use more and more of our brains, and latent Phsychokinetic and psionic powers are beginning to appear in each successive generation. Note that the more powerful "mind-people" are going to be younger for the time period of this RP. Teleri- Humanoid species, their skin has a bluish tint, and their features are elongated, with pointed ears up to half a meter in length. They are an ancient race, generally live to be 100-110 years old. Their technology has grown to encompass Bio-ethereal energy, and they harnass it to great consequence. They are slightly more slender and taller than average humans, and tend to have a mysterious beauty abou them. They are friendly and clever, but tend to be quieter, but have a great love for human diversions of all sorts. Saleri (Homo Sapiens/Taleri)- The product of a Human/Taleri union, they are, as you might expect, a mix between the traits of the two races. They are becoming more prevalent as Human and Taleri societies begin to more thoroughly intemix, and have a very high prediliction for Abilities of the mind. Human Military Classes- Marine- Forming the semi-elite of the Human military arm of the Federation, The marine is one of those steely eyed killers still trained in the ways of those who bore the same title in the former United States. They are equipped with Armor plated, effort enhancing powersuits and High caliber pulse rifles. Lancer- The sniper complement to any marine squad. They are lethal from up to 3 miles away, and the good ones can get you at 6. Their armor is slightly lighter, but they are equipped with longbore rifles with scopes that magnify a target 2 miles away to looking like he's 100 yards downrange. The weapon fires .50 caliber, hammer activated antimatter rounds through a nitrogen cooled barrel. Wisp- Psionically gifted special operator. Their armor is infused with quantum displacing crystals, that when activated, renders them invisible to all wavelengths of light and most forms of energy. The armor of a wisp represents the first Application of Human-Teleri engineered technology, and is powered by an OvoPack Bioethereal energy generator. And so on, and so forth...just specify and I'll probably approve you. Teleri Military Classes- Charon- A fighter. They can fall into a battle rage and their frenzied, but articulated attacks are entirely davastating. They wear effort and speed enhancing battle armor, with a built in shield projector. Their primary weapons are wrist projected blades of antimatter held in a 2m blade shape by a constant bioethereal charge. Drifter- These are multi-purpose infiltrators and assault troops. Their armor is made of a lacework of material designed to become attuned to the quantum harmonics of an area, and in turn, can be temporarily charged to make the wearer intangible. Their weapons are semiautomatic burst rifles that project energy encased plasma cores that detonate on impact. -and so on, and so forth... NOTE: There aren't many classes to choose from. You obviously don't have to be a military person. So long as you're useful. If you have an idea of the type of class you want to be, and it's not listed, tell me what you're looking for, generally, and I'll put it together for ya! Things will begin at a recruiting meeting for a multipurpose strike force to aid the various large scale military units in their campaigns. The meeting will be taking place at the Named Capital of the Federation, Narusie, a verdant planet deep within federation territory. Gimme deez- Name: Race: Age: Class: Affiliation: independent or Federation Bio: Abilities/Skills: |
Name: Kyle Krennel
Race: Human Age: 19 Class: former Wisp Affiliation: Independant Appearance: youthful white male, about 6'1. short Jet black hair with widows peak. closely trimmed black Gotee, and a long red scar extending from his right eyebrow to the just above his nostril. his Armor is a new form fitting prototype, which allows it to be concealed by a ankle length black coat. Bio: A decendant from Eastern Canada, He was once one of the most powerful of the wisps, havning great aptitude for telekinesis. he deserted the Federation after his entire infiltration squad was killed in a Gurz attack, among the casualties was his beloved Katryn. he now is a renegade, evading the Federation while on a rage fueled quest for revenge against the Gurz. Abilities/skills: suit enhanced agility, cloaking ability (as discussed in description by Ranger aidan), incredible abilities of telekenesis, and unparlalelled marksmanship. btw, this is a major rip off of starcraft, but what the hell. |
Your Bio's ok. And yes, I just played Brood War an hour before I wrote that. :p
|
it's the Gurz that tiped me off.
Gurz Zurg nearly the same. (That and also the fact that the wisp is a complete knock-off of the ghost) but thanx for letting me in! :D |
Wonder what he means with unparalleled marksmanship, seeing as he isn't a sniper or anything (And hopefully isn't planning on being).
And did you accidenly put in meters for your lengths? A one meter ear and two meter blades seem rather long... |
Unparlalelled means a natural skill with a pistol; in other words he uses his telekenesis to help "guide" his bullets. but if you want, I'll change it to "Excellent marksman."
the 2 meter long blades I can understand, but the ears... that sounds better in feet. |
If this is based on Starcraft/Brood War, can I be a Dark Archon? (Can't... resist... so... cool...)
|
I'll join, but I just gotta think up some stuff up first(damn.....)
|
How does a 2 meter blade (Over 6 feet) that you control with your wrist make sense?
|
because Antimatter has no weight. they have basically laser swords on their arms, which can be used in a Wolverine(tm) like fasion. 2 meters gives you a longer reach without counterbalancing yourself. but chances are the blades lengths are variable.
