Help, DS Problem

My DS broke. The top right (closed), snapped off. The front part, not the button, but what holds the top screen to the rest. It still works all fine and what naught. I'm just lucky it still works. Now my question.

Will Nintendo perhaps replace my DS? It only broke after two drops. I got it cracked ever so slightly, as in not noticeable. I notice cause it's mine though. So would Nintendo do it, and if not, maybe at a reduced price?

Please help! PLEASE!!!

Thank you.

You drop it, you broke the warranty, I'm sure.

Now, don't take my word for it though. I haven't closely read the manual and warranty notes.

But still, you didn't handle you DS properly and carefully, so why should Nintendo repair this console on their costs?

Do you mean the hinge which holds the top screen to the bottom part, by any chance? Because that's what happened to my old one, and I was able to take it to EB and have it exchanged for a new one. Apparently, that's been happening a lot.

I'm fairly sure that if EB was willing to make the exchange, then Nintendo would be willing to do so too. Of course, the easiest way to find out would probably be calling Nintendo and asking them yourself.

Because Nintendo realizes that if they help customers in such a manner they'll have repeat customers. I've had GBA advance(s) break from a variety of reasons and they've fixed them up and even replaced them in some situations. I've moved a lot so theres not always a guarantee that things won't break.

They understood that and fixed it all up. Excellent customer service is why.

Also Nintendo rocks for this stuff.

Like, they let me get a pink DS Lite instead of a white one when I won it in a competition at DigiPen this summer and I went to the store to exchange it, and like DigiPen staff told me I could do it but apparently I wasn't supposed to be able to, but they let me do it anyway.

Yeah, the digipen folk rock the socks off. I've talked to a few of them back in my highschool days.

Totally off-topic but DigiPen in Redmond, Washington is one of the institutions of higher learning I'm seriously considering going to after I get my basics taken care of.

The same thing happened to me. I paid for the repair cost, which took a really small amount of time.

Word of advice to DS owners: don't snap it shut. Push it closed gently. It can't handle the strain too well.

If you tell them EXACTLY what happened, and try to sound like you always buy Nintendo (True or not.), they tend to have sympathy, as they are the Superior gaming COMPANY. (not system)

Well... I finally figured it out. I got ahold of Nintendo about it. My Warenty ran out 12 days ago, but they still gave it to me. So now it's only gonna cost 57.50. Yay! I'm sending it soon, as I bartered with my mom.

Oh the cost includes S+H, so it's about 30 bucks. And yes I love Nintendo as a company. Superior Customer Srevice for the win.

EDIT: If a mod may so kindly smite this thread, I thank thee. If not, oh well...
