Resident Evil: Awesomeness!

I just checked this out tonight, and I must say that this is the best film in the series hands down. Sure, the ending seems rushed, but who cares? I jumped a couple times, the story was decent and Mila was kicking ass. All in all I enjoyed it and would recommend the viewing of it.

I figured it was another "Milia Jovovich Fighting On Colored Backgrounds" movie, like Ultraviolet or all the Resident Evil movies, so I just kind of skipped it.

And I skipped it good.

The first two were kinda nifty... and I do wanna see Apocalypse 'cause it looks like its got some good moments... but I also wanna hold off on it because I liked the games. The resident Evil movie series did to Resident Evil what Doom did to Doom.

So as someone who really enjoyed the first RE movie but didn't so much enjoy the 2nd RE movie, is this going to be a movie that appeals to me?

Yes, it's tone is more serious, more in line with the feeling of the game.

I still have a huge problem with the whole "Matrix Kicking Zombie Dogs in The Head," from the first one.

Hopefully the patch will solve that issue.

I really enjoyed this movie, but I had a few gripes.

They would introduce a character and then kill them off five minutes later. Yeah a lot of the characters died in Apocalypse, but it feels like the ones in Extinction died before you started getting to really appreciate them, they started to give them personality... and then they died.

Like the Bus Driver and his passing out food, little things like that denote a character's personality, or Nurse Betty... she basically died a vain death, and I had high hopes character wise for her and the relationship they set up with L.J., the guy from the second RE movie.

The ending... while cool creeped me right out, and... well... I just don't see a sequel coming out of that one. I mean who the fuck can stand up to that?

Umbrella is screwed. You don't clone that many super-powered individuals at a time! Why don't evil corporations ever have any sense?

Also, not enough zombies. This movie had a abysmal number of zombies.

My biggest complaints about the movie:

1. LJ getting infected and not telling anyone. At the very least I was hoping he'd sacrifice himself to save the nurse. It was a zombie movie cliche that really did not belong in this movie.

2. The ending. Excuse me? Where's my ending please? All the major storylines are left unanswered. Did she even use her blood to make a cure? The only resolution that occured was the death of the doctor...which is barely a resolution in and of itself.

3. Wesker. needs more Wesker.

4. Zombies. It's an entire world filled with zombies(allegedly), yet you see more non-zombies than zombies. Yes they explain it, THE CROWS THEY EATSIES ALL THE ZOMBIES, but I felt kind of ripped off. I was hoping for some fullscale zombie conflict.

5. Why would the T-Virus cause lakes and rivers to dry up? Wouldn't that mean it causes some sort of atmospheric changes, which means it'd be permanently in the air, which means everyone would be infected by airborne viralness?

T-Virus

Explanation!
I think the reason the T-Virus caused the water and whatnot to dry up was because it probably killed the plant life and lots of animals and stuff, which would fuck up the ecosystem, and therefore, the environment.

My biggest complaint is the clone army. They might pull it off well like they did her psychic powers, but I doubt it.

Also, where are my giant mutated bugs and other animals. I want them and I want them now damnit. And a mutant houseplant.

This movie is made of awesome and badass. There is a part where they use a flamethrower to incinerate a flock of zombie crows. Go see it now.

A lot of people are complaining about lack of zombies. It's not even really a zombie movie in the typical sense, but I liked it. They are keeping it fresh with different challenges, and this movie is more about surviving in a post-apocalyptic world (another genre which I am an admitted fan of).

Regarding the ending, I doubt that the Alice clones are all at full capacity. Evil villain-guy was trying to remake a perfect one, remember?
