Humanity is on the verge of an evolutionary jump. They've grown to adapt to almost any situation, and their mental capacities are the most superior of all races. But that is about to become even stronger.
Psychics, people who bend spoons, all of those people are signs of the coming evolution. The last time it happened, (100000BC) it all but wiped out the human race, and completely reset all levels of technology to stone tools. But humanity knows about this. And they're trying to stop it. On March 16th, 1972, all world leaders met in a top-secret meeting. While there, a programmer of unparalelled skill made a sentient A.I. program, linked all countries cybernetically, and made a pact. With the coming psychic evolution, it would need to be regulated and controlled so all humanity evolved at once, avoiding discrimination and genocides. Thus, the P5.1 program was created. In it's outlines, it said that the A.I. would be a ghost system, and transfer funding, scan all forms of media, and find possible candidates to join this group. The program failed. The evolving humans, nicknamed Witches, proved to be resilient to conventional manners of subduing them. P5.2 was created, by incorporating a new way of subduing the target. Bullets were manufactured that contained extreme powerful anethetics, drugs that were found to block psychic abilities, and criogen drugs to prolong the effect. P5.2 saw success, but it eventually failed. The candidates were too broad, and couldn't match the Witches. P5.3 Saw only the inclusion of those that possessed exemplary combat skills, from the military. It failed because of the inability to adapt. P5.4 saw only the hardest and meanest crooks. It failed because of the fact that the members ran. P5.5 included both sides, but it in turn wiped itself out. P5.6 saw the inclusion of broader ranges of skills, but only from military and gangs. It failed, because without strict leadership they couldn't figure out what to do. P5.7 was the landmark. It saw witches trained seemingly randomly to control their powers, then they were inducted into the P5 group to hold the Witches under control. It was a fairly well accepted success though the witches were discriminated against by the other members. P5.8 saw the complete exclusion of the military theme, and had anyone accepted, but only if they were up to the utmost standards. P5.9 was the groundbreaker. While induction standards were slackened, and witches more common, there was a new problem. Spiritual manifestations that brought along brief physical forms started trying to protect the hunted witches. As if to keep their chaos going. Conventional weaponry could destroy the physical form, and the spiritual part regenerated that in time. They were named cachistis. It is now P6, in the year 2045. The induction standards include two categories only. Trained Witch, and Psyker. It was found that with proper training, people with subexistant and dormant psychic potential could create physical manifestations of their darker emotions, and these could destroy Cachistis. The witch problem has become far more common, and some have begun to learn what they are, and band together into syndicats. ****** Wee-hee. This is inspired by three things. 1) Witch-Hunter Robin 2) J Man's old "2045" RP. and 3) My old planeswalker RP. It's the year 2045, but technology hasn't improved much. It's basically just really fast comps, and some hover cars for the really really really rich. I'm ditching my set plot idea, and I'm just gonna' make it up as we go. I do have one idea, but it seems like it'll be very loose. The physical manifestations feel solid, have weight, etc. But they can only harm spirits. Not good against physical stuff. Also, if you have that you can only finish off the Cachistis once their physical form is taken down. Example? Think abuot how in Prince of Persia you can certainly smack them around with your scimitar, but only the dagger will kill them. Just like that in this, except you have to kill the physical form, then deliver the coup de grace. So...have fun, remember that Witches only have one power, we need a variety of skills and backgrounds, and stuff. OH! And unless you're a witch, you have a job aside from this. Hmm. I'm going to be either a Nagika psyker or a witch of some kind but I don't know what yet. Count me in either way.
And I take it Oriental weaponry is open for psykers too? |

So, can Witches kill these Cachistis things themselves, or do they just do the ass kicking for the psykers? And would allow gravity control for a witch?

I don't know what the difference between a witch and a psyker is, or what they are themselves.
