I think it would be better just to get rid Mr. High-Flying, Bullshit-Spouting Stalker and pretend he never existed, y'know like they do all the time in comics. And what the hell is wrong with Peter? Mere minutes ago he discovers he can move objects with his mind, and he doesn't think that instead of committing crimes just to get back a box of his stuff, he could use that power to take the box out of Asshole O'Hara's hand?

Well, actually, the writers/producerts discussed whether or not to duplicate powers. Anyway, what they decided...

The thing we loved about duplication of powers was that it spoke to character more purely. If Claire can regenerate – does that define her character – or does it come from her heart? The best way to explore that is to find someone else who can regenerate. (So, keep an eye out for that person.)

It could have been a bluff, and the box was empty, and then he'd be really screwed. It's likely he didn't fully trust that revelation himself, and knew that his nuts were in a bind right then anyway, so to speak, and Peter also has no idea what the fuck is going on with him and his powers either.

Oh man, so totally stealing "little lord fuckleroy" from preturbed.

Oh gods, yes prease. Like he just walks out of the plot one day and we never see him again, and then Claire's old non-obnoxious sidekick, or some other not-goddamn-totally-annoying young fellow walks in.

Hey, it's what Stan Lee would have done.

The new Claire-kick isn't so much annoying as he is a creepy stalker.

Which when you think about it is a kind of super annoyance...

Ok, carry on.

EDIT: Maybe the toe can get the old sidekick!

So... Mohinder gets the memory-thievin' Haitian back in mid-season form after a bout of superperson's death-itis, and the latter escapes by wiping several hours of Mohinder's memory. But it's okay, 'cos he's totally undercover for le Bennett and he and Mohinder want the Haitian back. So he failed to screw up by screwing up? And his very first assignment just happens to be to cure a guy who turns out to be le Bennett's right-hand memory-fucker-upper? Bear with me if I sound stupid; I'm just trying to suss out for myself how much of that trip was plot-related serendipity and how much is the possibility that somebody's already sniffed out Mohinder as a mole.

Also, I must confess: the first I heard of Matt and Mohinder living together, I thought to myself, "Ladies and gentlemen...commence the slashfic."

I get why Peter lost his memory. It effectively removes Superman from the comic series for a while so the people who aren't flaming fucking badasses with every power necessary can't basically go around and deus ex machinae everything.

What I don't get is why it seems like the Haitian did it (what with the Helix pendant and all), especially if he's working for Noah. I do like the new villain though, I wonder what his power is going to be.

Ooh! Does anyone else predict that Peter is going to assimilate Maia's power without assimilating her brother's? The only real reason I think they wouldn't do it is because it's too much like the whole "Exploding Man" thing from season 1.

So, it is possible Kensei is Claire's great great great great great great great granddaddy?

I_Like_Swordchucks 10-02-2007 08:09 AM

So I've decided that there's no way Peter should even be able to use his powers, as it was stated previously that he needed to think about the original power user in order to do so and he can't even remember any of them. But if they're going to do so, at least he acted like the tough mofo he should be and not like the pansy Peter-with-memory actually is.

And just so I'm in agreement with everybody else, stalker boy sucks.

Sithdarth 10-02-2007 08:57 AM

Peter only needs to feel certain emotions to access powers. Like when anger brought out his telekinesis on the Invisa-Hobo. Its just thinking about people is supposed to help him control his emotions and therefore the powers he accesses.

I kind of doubt the latter as it seems like a pretty bad setup for sussing out a mole. I mean the Haitian's power is 'gives people comas' and IIRC King Midas didn't tell Mohinder anything about the Haitian's powers in advance, it seems like a situation much more likely to invite an honest fuckup rather than reveal an agent's disloyalties.
