Soul Nomad = Awesome

Probably the best NIS SRPG to date. It is 10X prettier, funnier and plays better then Disgaea. The story is actually not crap, it requires real strategy, and Gig (the anti-hero) is probably one of the best asshole character ever. BUY IT!

Wait is this for PS2? If so then, need NOW!!!

I believe it is so, yes.

It is amazing. Gig has some of the greatest lines ever, and the whole room squad system adds a lot of strategy. Also, since any unit you create, can be made to match the main characters lewvel, it reduces the amount of powerlevelling you have to do. My only complaint is that reorganizing the layout of the rooms is random, and sucks, but its not too horrible.

I'll definitely be checking this out from work.

Possibly purchasing. If it's from NIS, it's pretty much guaranteed it won't depreciate very much.

Hey Josh.
I hate you.

I have the distinct urge to buy this game now. I read up info on it at wikipedia and it instantly caught my interest.

Hate you.

Oh. My. Gawd. I just killed the 3rd World Eater, and a whole fuckload of revelations just happened. This game may have the most well handled, unexpected plot twists ever. And the good kind, not tha leame ones that make no sense.

bananarama 10-01-2007 04:54 PM

I hope that this game doesn't suddenly become hard to find like Disgaea...

Lord of Joshelplex 10-01-2007 06:52 PM

I hope not. It just came out though, so its findable at least.

Ugh, I'm way behind on these games. The only one I even started playing was Phantom Brave and I must confess I only played it for a total of a few hours. I don't know, it just seemed too weird for me. I mean, you could pick up trees and rocks and attack with them, and there were various ways to win battles without even beating enemies, like tossing them out of bounds. It was all so...surreal.

Also I never played Disgaea 2 because I wasn't sure if I needed to play Disgaea 1 for it to make sense (outside of the things that make no sense at all, like exploding penguin zombies.)

So is this a completely different series from Disgaea and not requiring me to have played them (if even Disgaea 2 required Disgaea), and if so, does it in any way compare to a more..."traditional" Strategy RPG or is yet again really weird gameplay like all the other ones?
