9th Graders

I'm sitting here in my 4th hour, which is a 9th grade intensive English class. I'm not actually part of the class, I'm a SCIP student. I'm basically the teacher's secretary for the semester, minus the clerical duties. Right now the kids are doing skits about responsibility and such. They all suck. Terribly. Each one is like a bad soap opera, with worse acting. Just now they were pretending to drink some Absolut Vodka, and I quote: "Hey! This is good!"
In my experience, Vodka tastes like shit, unless you're already too drunk to taste it. I suppose that I should credit this to inexperience in the field, but shouldn't it go without saying? Liquor is basicly watered-down alcohol. I guess my question is, were we all like this as high school freshmen? I pray that I was not, although I'm not too confident. :p

Yea, Freshmen suck. Honestly now that I'm a sophmore, I never relized how much I sucked last year. E.G.

Just a few days ago bunch of Freshmen took our table. Sounds like no big deal? Well our cafateria is setup with like 10 tables on each side. close left Juniors, far left Seniors, close right Freshmen, far right Sophmores. So think of it like this, smack dab in the middle of the 10th grade where a bunch of morons that wouldn't leave...why? Thier table was "dirty." So I walked to their real table, wiped the SALT off. Thats right, there was only salt on the table. And still...they didn't leave....

It seems so minor really, but the little things are what tick you off. Specially when they curse you off like they could beat you up.

Heh, Freshman year was my best year. I just went down from there every year. lol

In my opinion, freshmen rank two steps above dirt and one step below dogs.

Hamelin 03-09-2004 05:26 PM

Well, wait til you're a Senior and everyone is below you.

Frankly, I don't see what the deal is... you were all (or will be...) Freshman, and then, after Senior year, you'll be a Freshman again, in college, if you opt to go.

I know I wouldn't appreciate any upperclassmen being mean to me, so I'm not mean to any of the kids, even through I got my share of annoyances coming from the older kids when I was younger.

You just notice more of the stupid stuff when it's not in your grade.

I know I wasn't as bad as the current batch of freshmen at my school. They're all a bunch of disrespectful assholes. All of them.

Deathosaurus Wrecks 03-09-2004 05:53 PM

no one was ever "as bad as the current freshmen". thats what everyone says, but the sad truth is, you probably were. i know i was. its just inherent to "that age" of kids to act that way. theres nothing you can really do but just ignore them for a year or so till they mature some.

hmm

There were just certain traits to each class in my highschool... I could see it from day 1. So it wasn't a freshman or sophomore thing... it was just what group of kids you were with in that paticular class...

At my school, the name we Upperclassmen use for Freshmen is Fresh Meat. I think that says alot.

I didnt' like being a freshman. No respect. Like the mafia. You have to claw your way to the top.

Patricoo 03-09-2004 06:35 PM

Yea. I could quote every person that says "But you were once one" and I go "yea, I sucked too."
