d20 Modern Signups

I'm just wondering, would anyone have an interest in a d20 Modern game?

It would be set on a waterworld with a technology consisting of anywhere from primitive, floating tribes to advanced remnants of the colony of the colony ship that crashed on the world.

So, any interest? I could have the thread up on Monday, if so.

Although interested, I don't know if I'll have a lot of time to commit. Can barely check these pages nowadays.

Also, much more information would be required.

I don't have any experience with d20 modern, just D&D, but I'm willing to learn and I have the time. Would that be enough?

An interactive D20 Modern book

I'll give this a shot, and the link should help anyone not familiar with the system. And yes, that is completely legal from my understanding.

I'm all for D20 Modern, have books and everything. I am like Azisien though in the requirement for more info, and my lack of time to post with high frequency.

If it's a slower one, I'm all for it. Would also like to know what books are allowed and such.

Azisien 10-10-2007 09:07 AM

Most d20 Modern books are legal through the OGL, though some of the supplements are not.

There are some major differences between d20M and D&D, but the principle's the same. I'm very experienced with the system, so I can help where needed.

But yeah, slow-moving RP = good RP.

I've got no experience with d20, or pen-and-paper RPGs in general, but I've always wanted to try out a low key system game...assuming I wouldn't be too much of a hindrance in my new-ness. I've read through the link Inbred provided, and I remembered reading somewhere that being a simple fighter was the best choice when starting out, so I'd have no problem being the party meatshield.

If it's you're first time, I'd advise reading a lot of the material, possibly trying to get the DM to give you a practice battle, and then if you really have time to kill, looking around the net for play-by-post games, and try skimming through, to get a look at how games go. That all helped me to learn.

Edit: Bookie can't post, but on his behalf he wants me to post this. Some of the material will come from d20 modern, so this will be helpful.

Thread will (hopefully) be up tommorow.

So, here's character info, so you can go ahead and start.

Character level 3.

Any non-homebrewed Advanced Class, and the regular six starting classes.

Psionics/Magic will not be allowed.

You will start with no equipment.

Do not use XP, as I will be implementing a different system. 'Cause I hate the XP system.

PM me/post here if you have any questions.

So should we post our sheet in this thread, or wait until a real sign-up thread is up?
