School is boring.

I'm in school right now. I think school suxs not because I'm lazy (ok, maybe I am) but because it bores the heck out of me. I hate school because it doesn't challenge me enough and all the slow kids hold the entire class back. Does anyone else have this problem??? Post your thoughts while I pretend to be listening to my teacher.

Wait till you get to college. You have no idea what boredom is untill youv'e taken stats.

remember, you don't go to school to learn stuff, you learn to think. You may never use things like biology or English when you hit the real world. to be honest, i scarcly remember anything about my stats class. But it taught me a brand new perspective on how life works. Math teaches you how to think logically, English how to think subjectivly, you get the idea

High school serves one purpose; to get you in college. Everything you need to know about life you'll figure out in college. But the more work you put into high school, the better off you'll be in life. Just suck it up and put out, all the real fun is waiting in the university. My best high school experiences pale in comparison to my college life, and I go to freakin military college. your wildest high school parties are the most boring college parties.

No, I think you don't understand. I sit there and do nothing not because I don't do the work, but because I've done the work. I don't learn anything, and I sit there all day waiting for everyone ELSE to learn. I realize that everyone doesn't learn as quickly, but I could atleast be moved into some more challanging classes. It's a waste of my time to sit and do nothing when the school system could atleast move me to a more challanging and fast paced class. And I don't want to give anyone the impression that I'm a smart snob, there are a lot of people in my exact situation.

We go to school to think? I can sit at home and do that. I can think and work on my career why editing my Warcraft III map. Last thing I need is for people to pay a 2100 dollar tuition for me to waste my life in a tie thinking.

I know how you feel. I wrote half a novel during High School. 150 pages of sci-fi and still aced all my classes.

Just bring books you like and read those. Thats what I did a lot. Or teach yourself German, thats what my friend during English every day.

Don't even make me start talking about how boring school is. It seems like a major waste of time to me. Sure it determines the outcome of your life, but is it really neccessary to almost kill kids with unbelievable amounts of stress and boredom?

MP37a 03-10-2004 10:07 PM

To me staying at home was boring that's why I didn't miss a lot of school. School helps pass the time. I always went to school to socialize not to really learn. Yeah basically all high school is for is to teach you some sort of higher learning. I never really learned anything new in school though. It's all the same things over and over again. Sure the work is boring but it's easy to me at least so I never complained.

School helps you develop mentaly and socially, if you want to live your life to the fullest and do what you want for lots of money when you grow up, you should do your best in school. This year I have slacked off a bit, but I intend to mend that next year. Whoever says school is a total waste of time is wasting their breath. School is probably one of the most important things in your life, don't waste it because you think it's boring. Ruin your life because you don't do your homework because you want to spend your hanging around with friends, or playing video games. The only thing I consider justified for getting in the way of my homework is reading, I love reading, total bookwyrm.

Oh, and Psycho Mantis, what you sugested is exactly what I do, exactly. When I get board, I read a book (sometimes I get board when we're taking notes, but I intend to fix that next year) or I study my German, I like German, it's a nice language, robust-sounding, logical, and easy to catch on to. I can probably say over 500 different sentences and over 3000 words, and I have only been taking German for a few months.

Of coarse as soon as I'm done with my homework (or enough so I can finish the rest in school) when I don't have a book, I'm glued to the computer.
