I have a feeling I know what Ultima is all about. My theory is long but bear with me.

Many japanese people are still sore about the nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki (two cities that were bombed by the US in World War II)(no offence to any japanese people). Instead of declaring war, they put their anger into their video games. Ultima does slightly resemble a nuclear explosion. Normally, only the enemy can use Ultima. That enemy represents the US (no offence to any Americans). For instance, Sin in FF X: He is ultre destructive and the things he did to Spira resembled the things the US did to japan in WWII. In FF X, Tidus kills Sin. Instead of killing millions of innocent civilians, Japan withdrew from the war and kept their feeling to themselves. They vent their anger through their video games. Nobody should be hurt by this or stop play FF, but that's the point of Ultima: a reenactment of the bombing of Hiroshima & Nagasaki only Japan gets revenge. It's actualy a lotmore civilized than war.

Once again, I hope nobody was offended by my theory. I have nothing against America or Japan. I have relatives from both.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the only game where Ultima was present and not available to your party was FFIX, where Kuja was the only one who could use it. Meanwhile, Vivi got access to a little spell that went by the name Doomsday, which when used was a little more like a nuklear blast than Ultima was.

Ultima is basically all the elements merged into one spell. Fire Water, Ice, Wind/Lightning, Earth, Dark, and Light all in one blast.

Ultima is nothing.

It is only a name they decided to use as a spell, and they said, "I'll make it look like that and make it destructive".

I think Ultima is a magically-created plasma bomb. In ff6 and 7, it was kind of a greenish-blue colored attack that engulfed everything.

I think its just a reeeal big 'splosion. Doesnt it encase the enemies in FFX?

I use it in FFTA(its too easy to get it in that game), its like this blue half orb that encases enemies and explodes.
