Project Exile (AKA Clone-O Trigger DS)
 

Project Exile is a indie western made JRPG for the DS. The graphics seem to have been ripped and modded from a half dozen SNES and PS1 RPGs, the story seems to be, ah, inspired by the Darksword trilogy or SaGa Frontier 2. But what I think is their actual original stuff is great. Really nice character art and sprites, and the battle system looks interesting. It looks pretty damn good really, "borrowing" aside. Since I love the hell out of 16-Bit RPGs and this seems to be quality I'm willing to forgive it and Studio Archcraft for the plagiarism. The publishing deal isn't final yet though. Hopefully even if it's not picked up by a publisher it can still be released as homebrew, unlike Mithri.

Considering the comic this forum is attached to I was interested in what reactions here would be like.

How does that work?

JRPG would be it's genre. Traditional turnbased battle style.
However, made by a western developer.

Not THAT hard to figure out, unless you didn't know the terminology, of course. >_>

In any case, looks interesting. But... I'll wait some reviews. I've still got DragonQuest 8 and FF XII to finish.

Western made jRPG WHOAAAA. Also this was intended to be a GBA game at first but they turned it into a DS game.

By gods though. I wonder if there is any originality to that game. I might pick it up.

No see that's what I like about this game; it doesn't try anything that hasn't been done in the SNES RPGs. It's like a breath of fresh old air. :)
